Satellite L50-A-1CU: new SSD not recognized if SATA is set to the performace

I changed the hard drive from my toshiba a-1-cu C50, with a 128 GB SSD 830.

This drive only set on the 'autonomy' work is not a 'performance '.
(In the performance of the modality, the Bios do not see, or seen once on ten of system startup.)

This settings in Bios called sometimes "interfaces sata".

The performances are a quarter more slow (125 MB/s vs. 500 mb/s).

The hard drive has the latest firmware available.

There is a solution to finally put on the "performance"?

Hello

Indeed, it is very strange question

However, it would be interesting to know if this BIOS <–>recognition SSD problem appears with the other SSD drives. Have you tested other SSD?

Otherwise, I think that if this problem would appear with different disc SSD, the BIOS may not be not entirely compatible with various SSD.

    Hi Todd,

    Thanks for your reply.

I currently have the readers installed and running on my system

In response to your answer, yes Bios A11 had been installed for more than a year, removed the card activated before installing the SSD raid and AHCI.

The question, it turns out that was a simple, as I said after enabling the AHCI I thought that ports 0 and 1 auto detects new readers, they do not have. Once I have manually configured ports on in the Bios, the system recognizes the new SSD and they work now.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6004ea: new SSD not recognized in the BIOS

Hi I have a want dv7 and is currently using a 700 GB drive HARD However im upgrading to an SSD

I bought a Sandisc SSD PLUS 120 GB, I cloned the HDD to the SSD, I see partitions

in windows Explorer when im running HDD, but when I try to boot from SSD I get an error

error code (3F2) I ran diagnosis but no result without error of ideas? Thank you

If you use the Apricorn software and a usb cable to SATA it should work.

I did it several times without problem, except when I got an SSD that was a problem.

Replace the original hard drive in the notebook.

Download the latest version of the firmware from the manufacturer to the SSD and install it.

Once you have done this, try cloning of the OS for the SSD, reinstall it in Notepad and start on the SSD.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook - 17-f250: new SSD not recognized, Pavilion 17 AMD drivers

    Hello

I bought the laptop (HP Pavilion Notebook 17-f250) on September 2015 and this September 2016, I decided to upgrade with a 2nd SSD.

I bought a caddy, placed my SAMSUNG EVO 850 PRO inside, removed the optical drive and then place the CART inside the laptop. It fit perfectly, no problem there.

But Windows does not recognize it at all in MANAGEMENT OF DISKS.

It is not here in order to format it, etc...

My IDE/SATA appears as "AMD SATA CONTROLLER".

I can not find anywhere no possibility of enablev AHCI etc... My BIOS is not an option to check if the AHCI drivers are enabled or not.

With the AUTOMATIC DETECTION is my driver: AMD APU A4-6210 with graphics AMD RADEON R3.

My operating system is WINDOWS 10.

FYI, I bought another same SSD for my office and worked smoothly. I only have a problem with my laptop, and I can't figure out how to recognize the Windows SSD!

    BR,

    Dionisis

What caddy you bought? There are a lot of these on the market and some are not made with the highest quality control. You may have it tested with another hard drive?

Second, the interface for the optical drive is SATA which is ahci. The drivers are not the issue.

Finally, put an SSD in an optical drive is a little excessive spending from one optical drive interface is slower, so the speed of SSDS is wasted. It would be much better to put a regular hard drive large, slow in the optical Bay for storage. Having an SSD in there won't be fast in all directions. Also, a disc in an optical Bay will not be initiated.

  • SSD not recognized, in-house or Via USB

Very long story, there are similar positions here but other situations are not the same as mine or the answers do not explain things very well.  I am trying to replace the hard drive in my MBP mid-2010 with a modern SSD, the manufacturer said it is not formatted (say you need to get in shape first of all, in response, saying that their operating system does not recognize in some way, shape, as is my case).  When I put it in the internal drive Bay I get the big "?", sometimes alternates between it and the icon of the Apple and the circle with a slash through it (which means indicates that it has not recognized connected equipment).  I bought the cable I need to connect it via the USB port, I have the original hard disk to another external drive that I intend to use to keep my saved MBP, I want to clone the original to the new SSD hard drive, then try to boot from it.  I'm sure I have format the SSD drive, but how can I do if it is not recognized?  When I connect it outside of a Windows machine (7) it is recognised in Device Manager (but not in my computer).

    Thank you

  • SSD on Satellite L50-A-1CU

I read the post about the problems (SATA compatibility slow with the latest firmwares); Now is the time, for me, buy an SSD, but this problem keeps me at all.

No answers from Toshiba about it?
It does not consider a noticeable defect?

I upgraded my older Toshiba notebooks with SSD and everything was OK. I have the Satellite P500 and Tecra A11. No problem at all.

More info on SSD for your machine, you can find on http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/index.html
Of course, you can buy another brand. I use Sam... SSD pro 840. He got into special offer for a good price.

    What is the best configuration?

In the new tray dvd box, put / install 750GB hdd drive of my laptop
Replace the 750 GB HDD with MX100 Crucial 256 GB SATA 6 Gbps internal SSD 2.5 "
is it posible? These changes will have a big increase in the performance of my laptop?

    Thank you very much.
    Juan Carlos

As I understood your message; you want to put the current HARD drive in the Bay ODD (optical disc), then a new SSD drive in the HARD drive Bay.
    Is this right?

Well, first of all it s a good idea to replace the HARD drive with SSD drive. You will definitely get a boost huge performance. I did these updates in the past, and my laptop runs a lot faster.

Now back to the question on the use of the HARD drive instead of driving ODD.
I put t know if it will be possible since the laptop does not support the special feature of selection-Bay.
In the past, some other laptops Toshiba Tecra and Portege series supported these updates but I'm not very well on laptops Satellite m.

So in the worst case the HARD disk will not be recognized in the ODD Bay

  • How to change the Satellite L670D-103 using new SSD 80 GB HARD drive?

    Hello

I have a Satellite L670D-103 with a 320 GB HARD drive running at 5400 RPM which is too slow for me.

So I plan to change this factory by a new SSD HDD to increase the performance of the overall system :)

But as the SSD are expensive, I have only a 80 GB SSD.

I built the recovery on a USB media and I want to use it to restore my system to the new SSD (I previously did the space needed to ensure that all data can be stored on my new SSD 80 GB space; p)

Retrieving SSD partitioning new procedure is done without error, but when copying image to restore data to freshly created the partition, one not enough space error stop the process!

It seems that the recovery procedure is possible on a hard drive that is equal or superior to the original size of the disk (320 gb).

So, how can I restore mysystem on my new SSD?

    Thank you
    Stéphane.

    > It seems that the recovery procedure is possible on a hard drive that is equal or superior to the original size of the disk (320 gb)

To my knowledge, you have different recovery options:

(* 1) * recovery of factory default software

    (a) recovery to out of box state
    (b) recovery without changing the HARD drive partitions
    (c) recovery of a custom size partition

    (* 2) * "erase the HARD drive.

I think that if you choose factory default software recovery of-> recovery to out of box state then the recovery would create exactly the same size of partition on the new SSD which were available on the 320 GB HARD drive.
I think this might be the reason why you have received this message.

Perhaps you need to choose the 3rd option Recovery on a custom size partition

    What do you think?

Unfortunately, your link does not work, but as far as I know, this kind of info is not available to the specifications of the laptop. In my opinion, it is not important. It is important that you can upgrade this laptop with very fast SSD. I ve done on my old Satellite P500 and it runs very fast. I m really happy now.

  • Satellite L50-B-211 - Touchpad does not work

    Hi I have a question

We just bought a Satellite L50-B-211, but the touchpad is not working properly.
Move the pointer autour is no problem, but the buttons do not work.

Using the buttons does nothing, left or right clicking has no effect?
If I want to get the properties of a file right-clicking does not work?
    (two fingers press work)

The hardware is correctly installed, there is no problem in the configuration of the device.

Do I have to return the device (before installing our software / config the device to our needs)
or is this a software bug?

According to specification for laptop, your laptop was supplied with Win8.1 pre-installed so that all the necessary drivers are installed and all hardware should work fine.

Try please check all the touchpad settings and check if changing the settings has positive effect.
What you can try to do is to reinstall the original recovery image and test once more with the factory settings. If the result will be the same, I recommend you to contact your dealer as soon as possible and explain the situation. Ask if you can get the new machine.

  • Satellite A200 PSAF6A - HARD drive is not recognized. No recovery of product

I know that readers have a factory reset hidden on the disc and press 0 to the power upward, but with the unreadable disk, how can I repair my installation of Windows Vista?

    Hello

If the HARD drive is not recognized by the BIOS or other laptops, then I would say that your HARD drive is defective.
In this case, you need to replace the HARD drive.
In this case, you will not be able to start the recovery procedure from the HARD drive because it works badly as he has already said

Are you from the Australia? If you need a recovery disk, I recommend contacting the local Toshiba ASP to get this drive

  • Satellite L50 - A - 1 7 does not start

A month or 2 ago, I had the same problem. I feel that I can go anywhere with my problem so here is my last hope.

So first of all, there is a moment that I was using my laptop Toshiba L50 - has - 1 7 during the evening. I put on the mode 'sleep', lay on the ground and go to sleep. The next morning, I decided to use my laptop again, but it wouldn't start. The single LED light that worked was that it was the battery being fed or whatever. Done quite some research and I wanted to disconnect the battery of my laptop but I discovered that the battery is supposed to stay connected. Instead, there is a switch force or something. I just have to go in there with a needle, click and hold the button for 30 - seconds-ish and it would be identical to unload my PC or something else.

I tried, but nothing happ-ERA and I contacted the online store where I ordered it to help. They have not really give any useful information and I was getting enough. They do not have help me to think about the problem, they just kept saying that I had to return it. I asked how long it would take and if I lose files. They said there is a chance of losing files and it would take more than 3 weeks. I can't really lose my cell phone for more than 5 days! It's quite a disaster because I need every day my laptop.

In the morning, after that I decided to retry the stop switch to force thingy. I held the Start button and after a 10 - ish seconds there once again. All current progress was saved, and it was as if nothing had happ-ERA since then. I still had on the browsers and file op - en. Quite a miracle and a lot of luck involved. I don't like not how, but this worked so I stopped looking for answers. A day later, the same thing happ-ERA again. But this time, I just closed and ERP - ERA my laptop. This triggered somehow it of sleepmode and it worked again. So that's what I kept the past month. Some days, that I had to reboot my pc for updates but then I just clicked restart instead of shutdown down.

Now, today I had to go and he gave me a typical firewall error when in the game so I decided to shut it down (for the first time since I had these problems). I come back home and I have the same problem again... Now I have even more scared that it won't start because it is now completely off and no "standby mode". I tried o-p-e-n-i-n-g my laptop once again, by using the switch to stop, but it did not help to get started.

    Hi Sil22

I'm scared of m that this awakening / power on the subject indicate that there is a serious problem with the material.
As you mentioned in your post, force to shut down the unit should help to stop/Reset of the laptop where it is hung.

But as I understand the question, the laptop has been turned on properly and probably in this case this switch would not be very.
I m not very good if you will be able to solve this problem without the help of additional service.
In the worst case I recommend you contact Toshiba ASP (authorized in your country service provider) in order to check the laptop for possible hardware malfunction.
All FSA available worldwide could be found here: http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/

    But you issue:
Even if you have already tried the force stop switch I recommend checking of workaround steps once more:
Disconnect the power adapter and use a an object from sliding into the hole to support the force stop switch. Please hold switch 10 sec long.
Then you must also press on and press and hold the power for 30 seconds about

After that, connect the AC adapter and check if the power light is on.
If it s ON, then it means that the power supply is provided correctly to the laptop.
Now press power button again to power the unit in place.

If it works, well, then I recommend you update the BIOS of your laptop.
The latest version of the BIOS can be downloaded here:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
    Choose the Satellite L50 PSKK6E
Also Windows system should be updated to the latest state!

Where workaround is not helpful, I recommend using ASP.
