Satellite L50-B-1HU suddenly stops

Hello

My Toshiba Satellite L50-B-1HU suddenly stops three times last month.
Twice when the laptop is connected to food, at a time when it was not (just working on the battery).

Overheating does not seem to be implied: the fan isn't really hot after these 'accidents '. The laptop can be restarted too many immediateley.

This known issue is - and how to fix it?

Thank you
JF

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here and what can be the reason of these judgments.
Have you used a certain application when this happened?

  • Satellite L50-B-1HU randomly goes into sleep mode

Randomly, my laptop (Satellite L50-B-1HU) goes into sleep mode.
It happened at least 10 times in the last two weeks.

Once by chance, he goes to sleep he requires the power button to turn, but the power button should be 1 to 3 times, as it can to sleep just after pressing the power button.

Its happen even if the pad is in use. In windows power options, I turned also to disable the mode 'sleep'.

The laptop itself has been used for two weeks (which has passed since the first use)

    Any advice?
    Thank you

Like Notepad running in the power of the battery or also using the power adapter plugged?
From my point of view of a few notebook could enter the mode "sleep" due to low battery.

Also some 3rd party application preinstalled on the laptop could set the camera in mode "Eve".
Guess what: try to start the laptop is safe mode and let it run for a longer period of time. It would be interesting to know if the laptop would be access to the sleep mode using safe mode.

You can also use the command "powercfg. Windows 8 PowerCfg has a useful switch called - energy.
This technique is valuable to solve sleep problems.
Start the console with the command: cmd.
    In the console type: powercfg-ENERGY

Now it takes 60 seconds and will create an HTML file that you can open in your web browser to get the full report of energy. Now quite sure if the information could be useful, but it might be interesting what details this report would provide.

  • Satellite L50Dt - A - touchpad suddenly stopped working

    Hello
I'm not a part of L50Dt-A Satellite. PSKM2A. It is running Windows 8.1.

Last night the touchpad suddenly stopped not working, no cursor on the screen.
The little mouse on the touchpad indicator has not been and is not yet lit.
So I pressed the Fn + F5 key so many times, but that didn't work back.

I went to the mouse properties in Control Panel, and under the hardware, it is listed.
In Device Manager, there is nothing under the mouse either.
I went to the site of Toshiba and downloaded the driver for the touchpad.

However, on installation, it says that this is impossible because the computer already has one.
I need to uninstall and reinstall.
However, I don't find the touchpad synaptics original anywhere to uninstall driver.

Everything is updated via windows update and I ran the troubleshooting tools and that you have restarted, and so far, nothing has worked.

I plugged in an external mouse so I can use it.
But I'd like my touchpad mouse works again.

Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    > Yesterday the touch pad suddenly stopped working...
I ve never been faced with this problem, but try first to make back the OS to an earlier time using system restore just to see what will happen.

In this whole thing that it is confusing that touchpad isn't listed in the Manager under the mouse devices and other pointing devices.

  • [SOLVED] Satellite L300 wireless dead, suddenly stop, then won't power ON

Well, actually, that this post is NOT a question that I already found the solution, but it took me much time searching through forums (and in fact I had not found response), so I decided to post it here to help someone in the same situation later.

Ok.. I'm all new Satellite L300 laptop a week ago, which runs under WinXP SP2. First five days, everything was OK, but then I confronted the following symptoms:

-Material Wi - fi could disappear suddenly. After the restart, winXP found the map of wireless as a new device, but could not accept pilots (who has worked on OK again a few hours before).
-Notebook could stop 'tough' at any time and it is not in the CPU load. After that I could not turn on again than by pressing the power button only turned on CPU cooler. I had to wait for at least 30 min power turn on the laptop again.

So, I started to search the forums, and as a result, I was sure the reason was overheating of the CPU to 115.337%. It was strange for me that I could not find similar reports for satellite L300 on the web and even all dust cpu overheating reports for other models Toshiba II found - they all have been written on popular laptops, but I got mine just a week ago.

Since I didn't bring my laptop to the local service center and leave it there for a long time - I decided to locate the problem myself as much as I can and I finally found the reason:

    * He was one of the two Samsung modules of 1 GB of RAM installed in notebook.*

As I removed a suspect (2nd) - all symptoms have disappeared. As I removed another installed back suspicious as 1st - I even haven't been able to turn on the laptop. So, I deleted completely suspicious module and now I had no problem with laptop computers running more than 2 days (except the performance decreased due to the loss of memory of 50%).

Hope this is helpful to someone who has a similar problem whose symptoms may resemble the overheating of the CPU.

Really great job and a very nice display!

I have a Satellite L300 too but never had any problems with it. I'll put this in my favorites because it s very useful for people who have this problem.

    Welcome them

  • Re: Satellite L550 - cooling fan suddenly stopped working

About two weeks ago, I placed my laptop down on the ground. When I picked up two minutes later, there was an error on the screen that read something like "there is a problem with the cooling system, please contact your nearest centre of Toshiba. Since then, the cooling fan has failed.

I replaced the fan with a different, which also failed, then maybe the problem is the system not the fan? Is there some settings within the system that allows me to manually turn the fan on and off?

    > I replaced the fan with another
Which means that replace you it with another model?
Well, I think that another model of fan will never work because notebooks are specific products designed for certain series/models only. This allows you to change the t as well as on desktop computers.

In my opinion, you should contact the nearest authorized service provider. Guys can replace the fan and order a new one. If your laptop is under warranty, the repair will be free. :)

    See you soon

  • Internal speakers Satellite C640 suddenly stopped working

    Hi friends,

My satellite c640, internal speakers suddenly stopped working but works fine when the headphones or external sources are connected
    Is this a hardware problem?

I m using win 7 64 bit and I tried to install the drivers but seems to be a hardware problem

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

I don't know if it is a hardware issue of m.
You may need to check certain settings.

In Control Panel-> sound-> the Read tab.
You should see the speakers selected as the default device.
You can also click these speakers to the right and you should see a few options:
    Speaker Setup
    test
    Disable
    and so on.

Test the speaker first. In my case, a short tone is displayed. You can also mark the speaker and click the properties button. You will see a second window with tabs. Check the second tab called LEVEL. Here, you can change the sound level.

What happen exactly when you try to reinstall the sound driver? You get errors?

  • Satellite 1900-303 Touchpad: has stopped working

The touchpad on my Satellite 1900-303 has suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. The touchpad icon has disappeared from the office toolbar & I do not see the touchpad listed in Device Manager. However, the ALPS touchpad driver is listed in the installed programs.

The laptop runs on XP Pro SP2. Can anyone help with this please?

Can you imagine that the TouchPad is defective and this may be the reason why it doesn't work?

  • My Satellite L50 - A - 16 Q turns off suddenly while on battery

    Hello guys and girls,

I have a problem for some time that I don't really know how to solve.
    In November 2013, I bought in Poland, where I live, a nice TOSHIBA SATELLITE L50 - A Q - 16 (PSKJNE).
On this computer, even if something is constantly causing me problems: * very often the power stops so that all of a sudden on battery *, even if the 'TOSHIBA PC health monitor' app that monitors the temperature of the processor, also shows no sign of criticality.

However, there is something going wrong: thanks to this software, I noticed that whenever I unplug the charger, the fan speed is zero, apparently put the endangered cooling system. And I know in the manual that if the temperature of the processor reached a critical threshold, the system stops automatically.

Anyway is to solve the problem to not stop suddenly, making me lose data then on the battery?
Maybe turn on the speed of the fan, somehow, so that this mode?

Thanks to everyone for your contribution, in advance.

    Kind regards

    Matteo

If you unplug the AC adapter, the system will pass the plant (it depends on the configuration of power plan). Check the Windows power plan settings to see what configuration will be used in battery mode.

This power plan can be configured and all the settings are located in the advanced power settings.
I recommend you to check the mode of cooling and if necessary to use the same settings that are used in the power management when the laptop is connected to the power supply.

  • Satellite NB10T-to-10F - webcam suddenly stopped working

    Hello
I got the laptop TOSHIBA SATELLITE NB10T-A-10F
The web cam has suddenly stopped working
    I tried
    Updated bios even without result
Here is the picture of Device Manager

In various cases, the webcam can be enabled and disabled in the BIOS
This option would typically appear in the BIOS under: Advanced-> System Configuration
    Please check this box.

Otherwise, you need to know also that the webcam driver installation isn't necessary if you use the system Win 8 or 8.1 win because such driver is already part of the system.

If the BIOS does not have the power option webcam (Advanced-> System Configuration) I would recommend you to retrieve the computer laptop back to the factory to check settings if possible hardware malfunction would be responsible for this issue.

  • Satellite L850 suddenly stopped running applications

My Satellite L850 suddenly stopped running Apps. From the start screen, they show the image of opening for a while then it crashes and goes back to the start screen.

    Any ideas?

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what may be the problem. Try as a first step to roll back OS to an earlier time using System Restore tool. Maybe that will fix it.

If this is not the case, let us know.

Did you do something that might be responsible for this? Have you installed something or some changed settings?
One last thing: when you start the laptop in safe mode can start any application?

  • Satellite L300 - Built In webcam suddenly stopped working

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 with a built-in USB 2.0 camera and a windows operating system 7, the camera suddenly stopped working for about 2-3 weeks ago with unknown reason!

I tried the system restore, uninstall and reinstall the camera driver, preformed a complete analysis by kaspersky internet antivirus 2012 (updated) and I also ran a complete system and drivers troubleshooting... and the problem persists...

When I use windows live movie maker it gives me an error saying: can t record audio or video of the selected camera. Make sure that the device you are trying to use is properly installed and not currently in use by another program.

The microphone works well on Skype, but the camera does not open!
Please tell me how to solve this problem, what missing am me?

    > I tried the system restore

You got the device using the Toshiba Recovery disk?
In this case the cam should work

Otherwise I would say that this unwanted material s.

Some users here in the forum have reported a webcam problem and the reason for this was a loser between the cam module and the motherboard connection.
The webcam is connected to a USB controller on the motherboard.
If the connection does not exist, the webcam does not appear in the Device Manager it does not appear in your case? Check this box

  • Satellite L850 - webcam suddenly stopped working

The web cam on my Satellite L850 has suddenly stopped working.

    It does not appear in Device Manager;
    I downloaded the latest driver on the Toshiba site;
    I checked the BIOS and the web cam is turned on;
Always when I open the web cam application I get the following message:

"webcam initialization failed Please restart request and camera control.

I scoured the advice forum and short of a return to the top and reboot disk HARD, I find no reasonable answer. I can't back up as I am away from home is out of the question. I need web conference call cam / call my family to the United Kingdom back.

Tired of going round in circles and getting nowhere.

    Any suggestions?

Even if you have not changed the settings in the BIOS, you must Access the BIOS to make sure that the webcam is turned on it!

I also recommend the suite of this workaround:
    Uninstall the webcam software
    Uninstall the VAP
Uninstall all software needed the webcam (Skype, etc...)
Now, restart and install CCLeaner (cleaning of freeware software)
    Reboot once more.
Run CCleaner and clean the system and the registry.
    Reset
Now follow with installation of VAP
    Reset
    Install the webcam software
    Reset
    Test webcam.

    Good luck

  • Satellite L50 - A - 1 DG - my GPU was stopped by Windows

    Hello ,.

I'm French and I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite L50 - A - 1 DG in December 2013. But yesterday, I got a blue screen and after I saw that my graphics card was stopped by Windows because it has problems:

    Control Panel Nvidia gone too:

I tried to contact Toshiba support, but it is impossible, given that my warranty has expired.

So I'm here ^_^, it seems that this is my last solution.

But according to you, what can I do? Do you think my GPU is really dead?

    Thanks for your help!

Back of my cams GPU, but yesterday Windows started on a new account

I need to create a new account (called "TheSuperLumberjack") and transfer all the data from my old account to the new I remember one day I already had this problem. First my GPU was arrested by Windows and then Windows started on another account.

    Here's how to do it:

    http://superuser.com/questions/66741...Sers-temp?RQ=1

I did, but it was complicated. The other problem is that I can't delete the folder from my old account and a new account named 'Administrator' appeared in parallel and I can't delete it as you can see from these photos:

Anyone know how to remove these locked folders please?

    Thank you!

  • Satellite C650 - sound suddenly stopped working

    Hello.

I bought this laptop the month last November.
in any case, around a week or two ago, the noise suddenly would not work.

He started making strange noises when I put in the headphones and speakers just made no noise at all never.
I did a lot of weird things - like system restore, reinstall audio drivers but nothing worked until I updated the bios, then everything went well and the sound worked again.

However, today, the sound suddenly stopped working again. I tried to re - install the current bios but InsydeFlash says: "the version of the ROM file is the same BIOS version" and just closes.

I searched the internet for an older version of the bios, but when I try to install it, InsydeFlash said: 'the version of the ROM file is not newer than the version of the BIOS' and of course, I know that but then it closes too!

I'm not really good at computers or anything, any help at all would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    I recommend checking some options first;
-check if mute is not activated
-check if all the volume controls are set to a higher value
-check if the sound using headphones

If this is not successful, you must reinstall the audio driver.
First go to Device Manager and uninstall the audio driver. Restart the device
Download the audio driver from the Toshiba page, then reinstall it. Reboot once again and test the sound.
