  My windows crashed and I got it from archive created a few days ago. Archive includes all data from hard drives, the system has been restored exactly as it was before the accident. I still don't know if this caused the problem (or if the problem occurred after that): it happened a month ago, and I had no WiFi available at the time and only tried to turn it on a few days ago.

  Additional details:

  In device manager wireless card is appearing as functioning normally. In the management of the adapter Wi - Fi is on but says "no connection available.   I managed to solve the problem...

  Turns out that the problem was (apparently) caused by HP Power Assistant tool shipped with my laptop. Default profile has been showing the gray bluetooth and WiFi, and it was not possible to turn them on. I created a new profile, and even if all the parameters are identical to the default profile, it allows me to turn the BT and WiFi and turn off without any problems. Button is working fine now as well and goes from blue to orange when I press it. Active WiFi and it works.

  I had the same problem. I found the sollution. Ti go to Edit/Preferences/Audio Hardware and change the sampling frequency. My has been set at 44000hz and it did not work, I changed it to 48000 Hz and the problem was solved!

  I have recently reinstalled windows 7 on my Satellite P300-1FN and after a few minor problems, it was working fine.
  I blocked some drivers and updates, then it prompted me to restart.

  I turned it off and left while I had lunch, then tried to start and nothing happened.
  I mean nothing, not even the power led comes on. I put the battery in which I know has at least half a load and nothing.

  The fuse, still nothing changed. What is everything?

  Sounds like the motherboard or CPU problem because no s lights are on.

  But try this;
  Unplug the power adapter, remove the battery, wait some time (2-4 hours) and reconnect the two parts.
  Check if you could power the unit in place.

• Satellite Pro M40: computer stops when you press the SHIFT key

  Sometimes when I press the shift key it wonder if I want to shut down the computer. It also changes the internet Explorer mode in full screen. When it arrives it will be continually for centuries and then suddenly stop. Then start again. It seems not to happen at any given time. I disabled the hot key in the Toshiba utility and which comes to the top of the Tower stops when I pressed the SHIFT key, it does not give me the option.

  Well, I got this Satellite A215 a year, and yesterday, I decide to watch a DVD on the DVD player that comes with this laptop. Error message says to press FN + F5 to change my external screen something or other. FN + F5 did nothing. I tried other FN + F combination and they seem to work. I searched the forum for Satellite, but most of the stuff is facing the same problem with Windows 7. I have the Toshiba value added package which has been mentioned, but it does not seem to contain a utility program that solves this problem. I reinstalled the DVD player with my restore disk but the combination of keys is not yet functional.

  What is supposed to happen with the FN + F5 key? Drop down or pop up menu?

  How can I do to fix this?

  I can always use Windows Media to watch the DVD but would like for this drive DVD works properly.

  In any case, just for your info, Toshiba offers this option FN + F5 to switch fast between computer laptop LCD and peripheral external, as a monitor or a TV.
