    Hi all

I am a fool and deleted the partition recovery on my Satellite L300D.

I have an installation of WinVista disc, and I found what I thought, were the SATA drivers, loads them in the course of installing Windows - no go.

Can someone point me to a DL for a recovery disc or the correct drivers to install during the installation of Windows right?

    > Can anyone point me to a DL for a recovery...
I put t know what DL, but what I write here is followed by: original recovery image is not downloadable, and if you have the original disk recovery Toshiba for your machine, you must order it under https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

I want to make a full recovery and re-partition.

The question is what someone did this and if so what are the steps?
That is to say, first, then recover the partition or I partition and then recover?

    Thank you

In my opinion, you create restore DVD first. Then install the recovery image using these discs and when the OS is finished set partitions on your laptop.

After doing this, it can happen that you will not be able to use the disk HARD recovery option more but the DVD of recovery only if as a first step in the history please create these recovery disks.

  • Satellite L500 - no disc of recovery or partition recovery - how to reinstall?

I just bought a new laptop and realize that he did come with a restore disk or a hard disk recovery partition.

I was wondering if my drive hard breaks down how do I reinstall windows?
The laptop I bought is a Toshiba satellite L500 and only a few weeks.

If someone could help on the subject would be much appreciated.

    > I was wondering if my drive hard breaks down how do I reinstall windows?
If you would look in the user manual you would course a long time ;)

Use the Toshiba recovery disc creator software to create a recovery disk
If something goes wrong with the HARD drive, then you can always restore the operating system using the recovery disk ;)

  • Satellite L500-19 - remove the recovery partition and create new

    Hello!

I bought a new Toshiba Satellite L500-19th with Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit). So far, everything is brilliant work.
I have already created the recovery DVDs.
As a result, could now delete the partition with the recovery program? I want to use the full space of my hard disk and create partitions as I want.
But I don't know how I should do this?
    Could you please help me?

    Oxford

If you are sure that the created recovery DVD is ok at 100%, you can delete all data on the second partition.
Open Windows Explorer on the left side where is the second partition, click with the right button of the mouse and choose the FORMAT option.
Choose the quick format option and click START.

After a minute or two, all data will be gone.

Please note: in the future when you want to use recovery DVD for installing Win7 the whole HARD disk is deleted and you will lose all your data.
Using recovery DVD you can not format the C partition only.

  • Satellite L500-1DT: HDD Recovery of Win 7 is stuck in an endless loop

It's a so detailed bug report please bear with me.
If you can help, or can confirm that you have had the same thing happen to you, I will be grateful.

I've owned several Toshiba laptops before and I've even worked for Toshiba so worry, I like the machine. But I have a problem with his recovery software. I just bought a laptop Satellite L500-1DT with Windows 7 64 bit, on behalf of a non-techie who lives elsewhere. Since I know from experience that I have to sometimes panic calls from field in the sense of "it became too slow", "How do I get rid of the accumulated junk", "maybe he had a virus" and so on, the first thing I checked was ASR, which is how to bring the HD to "like new" condition.

So I started out in the machine, replied to the questions until I got in the appropriate operating system, then led the program "make a recovery DVD. Double layer DVD checked ok. With the freshly made DVDs, I swapped the HD for a spare part, I had (much less: only 40 GB instead of 320) and started the rescue DVD hoping it would fix my own system to the blank disc.

He did repartition the drive according to its schema, with more or less half the space for Windows and the other half for the data, including the recovery files. He did install the system in the Windows partition. It was then restarted in Windows 7 installed in order to complete the installation. There, the trouble began: an endless loop of reboots for hours until what I stopped it.

    Loop:
    * reset
    * black screen with bright logo 4 color windows «windows startup»
    * black screen with slight blade and "Setup prepares your computer for first use.
    * blue white screen "Welcome" with "please wait" and the crossbar with green blob, saying "the installation may take several minutes. Please do not interrupt or shut down the computer! »
    * blue screen saying it stops

    Repeat the above forever.

I saw him restart way more than 10 times over several hours. And whenever he's faking, that this is the first time she did it. Of course, this is not normal!

I tried to stop with ctrl-alt-del and the Task Manager, but the white screen would go even the Task Manager, making it difficult to kill any process or even inspect what they were on top. I stopped it by holding down the power button until it shuts. Then when it restarts it said that if I wanted safe mode. I tried. He went into the routine above and at one point he says that he could not proceed with the installation, if it was in safe mode. So he restarted in normal mode and then...! It is finally out of the endless loop!

Then he asked me all the usual language, record etc., questions as he did the first time I had turned on him. This seemed good. Finally, I walked into a newly installed operating system and everything seemed fine, except that I found out later that some programs that were there before were not installed.
With bravery bordering stupidity (*) I even Redid the procedure hard disk provided instead of my rescue: first I have nuked the windows partition, then I save the HD (with F8), not with the DVD that I had done. Result: similar rigmarole, with endless reboot.

After that I stopped it, it kind-of-worked, as above, but now some programs were lacking, such as the Toshiba DVD drive.

(*) motivated by: better try now with the computer here and all my tools and other computers ready at hand, that when the computer died at home of its owner, and that's the only thing left to try with me at the other end of a line call. Been there before.

Now, that specific (DVD player), that I could download it from the support page and it installed fine. But what else might be missing or not working not that I have not noticed? The restore process is clearly not working as it should.

I'm the first or only to whom it happens? I'm doing something wrong? Is there anything else I should try?

I need to make sure that the restore procedure works perfectly while I still have the computer in my hands. If not, there is no chance that I'll be able to do a remote reinstall for my non-techie, once I asks me to clean the laptop by phone a few months from now.

    Thanks in advance

[Update: just looking for the right place where I could post what I found that other people report the same problem.] This is definitely a bug in the software distributed for W7 - 64 overlay, not a problem isolated to my machine. See for example
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=49421&TSTART=0 where the user kwarc described the same symptoms with a Satellite L505.

    Hello

First of all, I must say that I could recover my trouble free unit.
The installation of Win 7 went well and everything has been installed correctly.

    Back to you:
To me it looks like something wrong with installation maybe some HARD drive partitions were confues perhaps, HARD drive should again formatted, and then run the recovery procedure.
    You should test

    Regarding the DVD player:
As much as I know there is no DVD player for Win 7 64 bit. There are only available for Win 64 bit updated. If you need to install the DVD player for Win 7 32 bit version and then update using the patch released for Win7 64 bit.

  • Satellite L500-1XC HDD Recovery help

Hi I have a Satellite L500-1XC of second hand, the former owner has installed Ubuntu (which I can't access because of password) as well as windows 7 and I try restore laptop to factory settings, but I just don't know how.

I tried to turn it off and holding, then 0 and pressing the Start button. On the bottom of the home screen says HDD Recovery at the bottom left of the screen, but after that, he just the part of the selection for me to choose Ubuntu or Windows 7 and then just charge the laptop as usual.

I tried to get the Recovery Media Creator, but I'm not. It seems that a lot of original Toshiba Utilities and supports have been removed.

If anyone can help me fix this laptop, I'd be so grateful that I can not really afford to buy a Toshiba Recovery disk.

    Thank you

    > I'm trying to restore the laptop to factory settings, but I just don't know how
I put t I think that HARD drive recovery would work because Linux has been installed on the HARD drive and I think that the partition table has been changed.
This might be the reason why the HDD recovery isn't working.

You can always see this Toshiba document that describes the whole HARD drive recovery procedure:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

So now, drive HARD recovery does not work in this case, you can only use the installation disc.
You can try to install Windows 7 using the Microsoft disk (Toshiba drivers are downloadable) or you order the disc of Arvato:
    http://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

  • Satellite L500-13W - creation of possible recovery on another OS disc?

I got a Satellite L500-13w and it came pre-installed with Windows Vista and the recovery of files, but I formatted the PC and installed Windows 7 and then installed XP.

Now I want to use the system recovery to return to Vista, but I didn t create a Vista recovery CD using the files that came on the separate partition. If I had again the file instead, they came.
So my question is, under Windows XP, is it possible to use these files to create the CD or the recovery file?

    Please answer

    Hi Nagravison-PT,

Unfortunately, this is not possible. The Toshiba Recovery disk can be created on a preinstalled OS, because only there, the recovery disk creator is installed.

On the second partition recovery files are now unnecessary, because you can use HARD drive recovery option more and creator of recovery disc is removed.

    What to do now?
You use a Microsoft disc or you order a Toshiba Recovery disk:

  • Satellite L500-20 X - no recovery disk

    Hi all

Since yesterday my Satellite L500-20 x have only called Bluescreens 'Driver not less than or equal'--> Restart! It starts with win7 until the opening of the session, after that reboot every time. I try a lot of things to fix:
    Systemrepair (3Times) and no change
Recovery of SystemRecovery (per disk HARD no CD) work but always bluescreens and no change to solve the problem.
Memory check (from Win7) checked 3 times 100% ok.
Toshiba HDD Recovery (I try several times but it turned off each time by bluescreen process... so I can't do that - unpossible complete recovery!)

This is the first laptop I have buyed all and I've never heard of a recovery disk - so I don't create one! Now, I can't get in win7 - so I can't create it now. Anyone have any ideas? I want new windows to install... but I do not have the same Win Disk. Win = Win7 64 bit laptop all I have is WIn7 32 Bit for my HomePC.

    I need help!

    Salvation of the beam,

If you don t have a Toshiba Recovery disk, you can order one at Toshiba directly:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

It's worth a try if HDD recovery option doesn't work properly.

If you order such a disc and install the original on the HARD drive settings will be restored. A clean install factory with all the drivers and tools (on the settings in the box) will be restored, and if that doesn t work, this seems to be a hardware malfunction

  • Satellite L500-19Z - recovery process is not complete properly?

Trying to reinstall my system Windows 7 on a satellite L500-19Z. When I insert the recovery disk it ends and then restarts.

When reboot it goes through the "system registry' and 'system settings' and then restarts. He said Athens 'set up for first use.
Then it comes up with a white screen and the box saying "the finalization of installation - will take a few minutes" etc.

However, after a while it just restarts and goes through the same sequence again - and again - and again etc.

I can reboot into safe mode, but it will not make a system restore point.
When I try to reboot normally it just goes back into the routine above.

I tried a number of recovery disks, but they all do the same thing.

    > I tried a number of recovery disks, but they all do the same thing.
This means that you have more for this model of laptop recovery disk?
Did you use the right method?

I'm not very well why the recovery procedure ends correctly, but it might be possible that your laptop s equipment is affected m.
What was the purpose of a recovery? Something was wrong with the laptop?

    Hello

I have a problem of creation of recovery for the Satellite L500-126 disks.

I'm using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

    The 1st disk is ok.
When I try to do the 2nd drive, the systems stops exactly 50% of the 2nd drive. and no more reaction from the creator of disc.

I tried 2 x, and every time I had to give up and throw the dvd.

    any suggestions?

    Hello

You should try another DVD from different manufacturers
It s nothing unusual that some DVDs are not totally compatible and CD/DVD players cannot write data correctly
I had this problem in the past and could solve this test and using different DVD.
