Satellite L500 wireless empowerment 1DT-disorder after reformat

Hello, after about a year of owning a Satellite, I thought it would be time to reformat the hard drive and do a fresh install of Windows. However, after the reformat, I realized the wireless was not the connection (or even detect) my network and found that I had to turn it on.

Problem is, there is no physical network on the laptop switch (slight defect in design, in my opinion), and it had to allow him through a function command. However, the program that showed orders from function available and working, went, as I reformatted. After looking through the section drivers on the Toshiba site, hoping that I could find of the said program, there is nothing. Is there an available way to turn on the adapter wireless thanks to a program external, or better yet, find the original program that orders of service?

Thanks in advance

Hello

You know very well that more useful information, that you write here can help us to understand your problem. It will be interesting to know how you have reformatted your laptop. Toshiba recovery image using or if you have own OS?

Recovery image Toshiba designed for your laptop model contains all the necessary tools and utilities, so I assume that you have installed the version of the OS.
As the first tone please download and install the package of added value. This package contains several tools and utilities, and one of them is support Button.

    Hey all,.

I have problems with my toshiba satellite L500 wireless very slow. I restored the computer back to factory settings, reset the router and do not know what to do. The only way that I am able to achieve and increase speed of internet is by connecting the laptop to the router.

There are 3 other laptops in the House which is the same model, this laptop runs very fast. My router is a Thomson TG782T.

    Hello

First, I would try to update the WLAN driver. Download the latest version on the Toshiba site and then delete the old version. Reboot the laptop and use CCleaner to clean the system. Restart again and now you can install the latest WLAN driver.

I put t know what operating system you have, but on Vista and Windows 7, you must disable the WLAN energy saving function. You can do this in Windows power management if you change power management.

I had a similar problem and after removing the energy saving function, it worked fast and normal as on other laptops. :)

Other messages suggest the update of the BIOS. Running version 1.9. ersion 2.1 is available. When I try to run the update: code error-144. BIOS is not flashable.

    Clues please?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Colin9999,

Before you start with the update of the BIOS, you should try to install the latest driver WLAN you can get on the official website of Toshiba. It seems that you have an Australian model laptop to check the Australian page here:
    www.MyToshiba.com.au > Support > downloads

After installing the latest driver WLAN check the status again.

BIOS update error could be related to missing value added package. Have you installed this tool from Toshiba?
Run the update as an administrator?

  • Satellite L500 - wireless network adapter is missing in Device Manager

Hi guys, I have read a lot of discussion but not found a job of answer to my problem and yet, although this doesn't seem to be a common problem, so I was wondering if someone can help out me. Model laptop is L500-1VT. There is no switch on / off external WiFi.

    In short:
-Awake portable sleep, already before his pan was connected to wifi, but suddenly had no connection.
-Adapter doesn't not appear in Control Panel, so checked Device Manager. Isn't there. : S

-Thought that maybe something has come loose? But then checked msinfo32.exe and adapter was seen here.
-Read a lot of discussion about it being from PVAT with FCU, then followed advice doing reinstalls and uninstalling and reinstalling driver wlan (this being seen in lost msinfo32.exe.) Unfortunately, it did not work. Still not apparently visible to windows.
-Fn + F keys never worked and after reinstall of the above programs still do not work.
-Wireless is enabled in the bios.

-However, and I don't know if it's the crux of the problem. * Wireless is DISABLED in HWsetup.exe. When I try to turn it on, it says reboot needed. If I do that immediately, or much later, I get a blue screen and memory dump.* so I'm sure it's a software problem.

-J' also tried restores system and disks of microsoft repair. But I am at a loss about what to do now, so use my phone via USB WiFi to connect to MTAs.

If anyone has any ideas, it would be great!

    Hello

WLAN works when you restart your laptop?
Latest version of the BIOS is installed on your laptop satellite?
Have you tried updating the BIOS too?

And Yes, last question: do you use the original OS that you got with your laptop (recovery image)?

  • Satellite L500 - screen is completely black after stand-by

I have a L500 and after that my computer is on standby, the tried to reactivate it. Now it will not display anything on the screen its completely black and have no idea of what should happen or do.

    Can anyone help?

    Hey,.

You see something on a screen? The internal screen is probably defective, so you don t see anything.

If an external monitor stays black I would try to remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter. Then wait at least one or all the night. Now connect the AC adapter and install the battery. Before you turn on the laptop, make sure that the battery is fully charged. Now, try to start your laptop and check what is happening.

In the worst case it serious hardware malfunction and that means that you would need professional assistance service authorized in your country.

  • Satellite L500 - 19 X does not after all liquid spill

    Hello

Newbie here, pleased to meet you all.
I got a Toshiba L500 19 X, who has a problem, the keyboard does not work, at all.

This happened after a spillage, or so I thought.
I fixed a few laptops which have been submitted to liquids, but this one is different.
In this case the laptop works brilliantly, is not a problem except for the keyboard does not.

I have attached an external usb k/b and it works perfectly. I stripped the laptop down to the mobo and there is no sign of a reversal of liquid.
I use a large magnifying glass to inspect the Board, usually find something blow over, but does not in this case.

Nevertheless I cleaned the mobo and everything seems fine. But the k/b will not work.
I am come to the conclusion that the problem COULD be an update of the bios of electronics, or corrupt.

I have d/load the latest version of the Bios, gaining 2.10, but when I go on install it tells me that the current bios is equal to or newer than the one I have d/load and flash will not take place.

I come hat in hand, to help if possible, and to see if anyone has had the same problem.
Maybe point me in the right direction.

The bad news is that there is a problem with the motherboard.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

    > In this case the laptop doesn't work brilliantly, is not a problem except for the keyboard does not.
    > I have attached an external usb k/b and it works perfectly

So you have a great chance looks like the motherboard is ok and the keyboard controller also works.
Why is this a BIOS problem? The laptop worked perfectly in the past
Therefore, in my opinion you should contact point of service allowed in your country and should replace the keyboard.
In my opinion the problem of keyboard internal

  • Satellite L500-19th - Microphone stops working after a few words

    Hello

About 2 weeks I have a new 19th L500 with Windows 7 and it worked fine. But since a few days I have trouble with my microphone, no matter if I use the internal or an external headset/mic. The question is it seems to work for a few seconds only, for example try a call via Skype, teamspeak etc. but people don't hear my Hello and a few more words, then they only hear me very well. The parameters of all them seem to be good and I already downloaded/installed the latest drivers realtek, but nothing is.

Anyone have an idea what can be the problem and how to fix it?

    Thank you
    stammann

    Hello

Really strange, stammann. Have you also tried to update the driver for the webcam? I ask this question because the microphone is a part of the webcam, then you also need to update this driver. Just check the Toshiba page for an update:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

You also enabled amp Microphone? You can check it in the audio settings of Windows.

  • Satellite L500 - boot PXE ROM message

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500 only a few weeks, after a reboot I got the following error message,
"For failure of Realtek PCI-E Ethernet Controller PXE - E61 Media Test, check cable PXE - M0F outgoing PXE ROM.

I tried everything I could think off, ultimately exploitation 0 cash to restart to try to restore the factory default, however the laptop just made the turn, loading the operating system, drivers etc, restart, then back to the loading of the operating system again. I suspect the PXE - E61 error indicates the hard drive has developed a defect and will need to be replaced, but I would avoid to return under warranty if possible.

Could someone either confirm that there is nothing I can do other than return under warranty or offer me a fix?

    Thank you very much
    Brettie

    Hi Brettie,

I had a similar problem on my laptop HARD drive became faulty after a few weeks. I think that this is not uncommon and can still happen, so all data must always be backed up on a second disc. But for example I have a laptop that is already 4 years old and the HARD drive still works like the first day! ;)

    > it back under warranty if possible.
Of course, you can fix this problem under warranty. Simply contact your local authorized service provider and explain your problem. They will help you!

    Hello

in my Toshiba Satellite L500 with Vista 64 bit after bad start has not started.
I try to choose recovery, but his departure +/-7 h and nothing. I try to install win 7, but it takes about 10 hours.

Then W7 starting about 40 minutes.
I have no idea what may be wrong.

Maybe the HARD disk works bad 40 min to start system is certainly too long.
Try to replace the HARD drive and reinstall the system.

You know how to replace the HARD drive?
If this is not the case, check this box:
    [Satellite L500 HDD replacement | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/CRU0B03210000R01.htm]

You will need a common HARD SATA 2.5 disk. Its regardless of what rates would support the HARD drive: the 5200 rpm or 7200 RPM is good.

  • Satellite L500 - 1DT Win7: Impossible to connect my mobile G600

    Hello

I bought my ' Satellite L500-1DT "last week and am ready to throw it out the window.

I swam to connect my samsung G600 mobile phone, I installed the software (samsung NEW pc studio) supplied with the phone.
That, by then, installed, but when I tried to connect the phone, he said "an unregistered design has been connected, the communication cannot go forward, move looking for new device."

I then downloaded a driver from the samsung website, but still no joy. I now have the "Samsung PC studio 3 installed, after uninstalling other software.
Now the phone connected by USB is even not found, even if it is reloading. I also had problems to install my wireless printer and the software, but it is another matter!

    Aaaargh!

I mean that Toshiba has nothing to with the device and Samsung support software.

  • No wireless - Satellite L500-131

Hello everyone. I have a problem with my laptop, a Toshiba Satellite L500-131. It is supposed to connect to my router via a Repeater (Edimax Wireless 802.11n Access Point). The only way I found so that it can work is to disconnect the Repeater and the router, wait 10 seconds, plug the router, then the Repeater.

I know that this is not a router problem, because I can get a wireless connection on my other laptop. The Repeater picks up the signal, but the Toshiba laptop is not just automatically connect. It worked right after that I installed the Repeater, but since then it works.

I heard that microwaves or cordless phones can ruin the signal. Is it possible for a radio to do this?
I tried to find a solution online, but it only seems to be a lot of people with a similar setup.

    Thanks for the replies!

    Hi Carangil,

What happens if you try to establish a WLAN connection without Repeater?
Make sure also that WLAN router and Repeater using the latest version of the firmware that you find on the Toshiba site.

Also, try also updating the driver WLAN. From Toshiba Web site will give you the most recent version:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

Another interesting thing: is your router and the repetition of the same production? I also had a similar problem and the reason for the different manufacturers, they are not compatible set.

  • Satellite L500-1DT: HDD Recovery of Win 7 is stuck in an endless loop

It's a so detailed bug report please bear with me.
If you can help, or can confirm that you have had the same thing happen to you, I will be grateful.

I've owned several Toshiba laptops before and I've even worked for Toshiba so worry, I like the machine. But I have a problem with his recovery software. I just bought a laptop Satellite L500-1DT with Windows 7 64 bit, on behalf of a non-techie who lives elsewhere. Since I know from experience that I have to sometimes panic calls from field in the sense of "it became too slow", "How do I get rid of the accumulated junk", "maybe he had a virus" and so on, the first thing I checked was ASR, which is how to bring the HD to "like new" condition.

So I started out in the machine, replied to the questions until I got in the appropriate operating system, then led the program "make a recovery DVD. Double layer DVD checked ok. With the freshly made DVDs, I swapped the HD for a spare part, I had (much less: only 40 GB instead of 320) and started the rescue DVD hoping it would fix my own system to the blank disc.

He did repartition the drive according to its schema, with more or less half the space for Windows and the other half for the data, including the recovery files. He did install the system in the Windows partition. It was then restarted in Windows 7 installed in order to complete the installation. There, the trouble began: an endless loop of reboots for hours until what I stopped it.

    Loop:
    * reset
    * black screen with bright logo 4 color windows «windows startup»
    * black screen with slight blade and "Setup prepares your computer for first use.
    * blue white screen "Welcome" with "please wait" and the crossbar with green blob, saying "the installation may take several minutes. Please do not interrupt or shut down the computer! »
    * blue screen saying it stops

    Repeat the above forever.

I saw him restart way more than 10 times over several hours. And whenever he's faking, that this is the first time she did it. Of course, this is not normal!

I tried to stop with ctrl-alt-del and the Task Manager, but the white screen would go even the Task Manager, making it difficult to kill any process or even inspect what they were on top. I stopped it by holding down the power button until it shuts. Then when it restarts it said that if I wanted safe mode. I tried. He went into the routine above and at one point he says that he could not proceed with the installation, if it was in safe mode. So he restarted in normal mode and then...! It is finally out of the endless loop!

Then he asked me all the usual language, record etc., questions as he did the first time I had turned on him. This seemed good. Finally, I walked into a newly installed operating system and everything seemed fine, except that I found out later that some programs that were there before were not installed.
With bravery bordering stupidity (*) I even Redid the procedure hard disk provided instead of my rescue: first I have nuked the windows partition, then I save the HD (with F8), not with the DVD that I had done. Result: similar rigmarole, with endless reboot.

After that I stopped it, it kind-of-worked, as above, but now some programs were lacking, such as the Toshiba DVD drive.

(*) motivated by: better try now with the computer here and all my tools and other computers ready at hand, that when the computer died at home of its owner, and that's the only thing left to try with me at the other end of a line call. Been there before.

Now, that specific (DVD player), that I could download it from the support page and it installed fine. But what else might be missing or not working not that I have not noticed? The restore process is clearly not working as it should.

I'm the first or only to whom it happens? I'm doing something wrong? Is there anything else I should try?

I need to make sure that the restore procedure works perfectly while I still have the computer in my hands. If not, there is no chance that I'll be able to do a remote reinstall for my non-techie, once I asks me to clean the laptop by phone a few months from now.

    Thanks in advance

[Update: just looking for the right place where I could post what I found that other people report the same problem.] This is definitely a bug in the software distributed for W7 - 64 overlay, not a problem isolated to my machine. See for example
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=49421&TSTART=0 where the user kwarc described the same symptoms with a Satellite L505.

    Hello

First of all, I must say that I could recover my trouble free unit.
The installation of Win 7 went well and everything has been installed correctly.

    Back to you:
To me it looks like something wrong with installation maybe some HARD drive partitions were confues perhaps, HARD drive should again formatted, and then run the recovery procedure.
    You should test

    Regarding the DVD player:
As much as I know there is no DVD player for Win 7 64 bit. There are only available for Win 64 bit updated. If you need to install the DVD player for Win 7 32 bit version and then update using the patch released for Win7 64 bit.
