Satellite L500D can't seem to DC reviews

I have 2 x L500D.
Including charges is no longer plugged power. She was still running on batteries. Until they went flat.

I tried exchanging power supply between laptops and it did not help. The same laptop could not examine the power and the second machine began to load correctly. So... no food (then I think)

What else can we? The laptop does not work (on battery), but does not accept power.

I checked the entry record and it seems fine. (Nothing broken, etc.)

I assume there must be some problem with electronic power supply. It is placed on the motherboard and, unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it. You need professional help then please contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

  • Satellite L500D - can't get optical to work reliably drive

    HI again users Toshiba.

Since I got my Satellite L500D I had a problem with TSST corpCD/DVGW TS - L633C ODD. I run 3 OS (Tri-Boot) and all have the same number, so, even though I have updated the firmware to version TO02, I can't get this drive to work reliably. From time to time it will "play" DVD / CD, but not more often.

Basically, when I put a DVD or CD, the drive makes a sound of "hunting" and nothing else happens.

I've been on several tracks of high-low registry settings, operating system specific upgrade and tonight an update of the firmware.

Because etiquette programs that I use on this system I can't abandon this unit some 'tech boutique', even if there was a local.

I am technician qualified in the field of electronics and electric, but have not been exposed to the functioning of such a DVD player so advice here before that I put on the classware magnifying and opt for a quick glance.

My problem, what are looking for?

    Suggestions anyone?

    Hello

What Satellite L500D you exactly (L500D-xxx)?
If you have downloaded TO02 Toshiba support and download page?

To be honest I n don't know what can be the problem, but you can remove the existing HARD drive, put the other HARD disk, install OS using the Toshiba recovery image (I hope that you created the recovery DVDs) and test the functionality of the BIZARRE with own OS pre-installed (factory State).

If the problem persists perhaps you should contact Toshiba authorized service provider and ask for help. They can check ODD and replace if necessary.

  • Satellite L500D - can only burn the recovery of 1st and 2nd disc

I bought this 2nd hand computer laptop in the last two days with the factory default reset. However, I could only burn the 1st recovery disc 2 of 4 using Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator.

I am running Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit. I started at F8 factory reset "out of the box" settings that went well. I did where there was a small problem when the previous owner restored to factory settings.

As he had SP1, I installed SP2. I upgraded the BIOS to 1.1 to 1.4, the latest. I also installed the latest version of Recovery Disc Creator for L500D, after uninstalling the old version.

    Downloads from http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/notebooks/satellite/l500/pslk0a-00r009/download.

I changed to another brand of DVD blank. I have checked and unchecked "Verify" in the Recovery Disc Creator. I also have the latest installed version of the Toshiba disc Creator software. I tried to burn discs 3 & 4 separately overall

I get no error message, just as the taskbar progress 3rd disc ends never quite at the end. The former owner has never created a set of the factory restore disks. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Hello

to be honest, I have not idea why t he does not burn it. I can offer you:

    1. use a high quality like Dvd - R verbatim media

    > I also installed the latest version of Recovery Disc Creator for L500D, after uninstalling the old version.

2 maybe, he won't burn with Toshiba disc creator software update. Restore back factory settings and try again with the old version of Toshiba disc creator.

  • Satellite L500D - can't read/write DVD

    Hello

About a fortnight ago my DVD drive stopped reading/burning DVD and now only times/burns CD I followed the guides to remove the upper and lower filters and reformatted my laptop to factory State and the DVD player does not work.

I bought a new replacement drive, and is not reading the DVD either so im assuming that my original DVD player worked but there is something wrong with the hardware of the laptop itself?

I bought the laptop in November ' 09 so it is still under warranty or is there anything else I can try?

    See you soon

    Hi mitchello,.

    > and reformatted my laptop to the factory of the State and the DVD drive has failed.
If you have tested with factory settings and it still doesn t work it s hardware malfunction but it strange why s it doesn t work with a new disk

What program you use to read or write DVDs? I can recommend the VLC to play all the multimedia content and CD Burner XP Media Player like burning program. Both programs are freeware and works perfectly. Never had a problem with these tools.

Have you bought a new drive to an authorized service? I ask this question because not all readers are compatible with all mobile phones due to the assignment of the different pins. If the new drive does not work you can return it for a replacement.

  • Can satellite L500D - I get Vista 64-bit?

I just buy new computer Toshiba Satellite L500D and I installed Vista 64 bit, but then I realized that some of the programs and games work dosent in 64-bit version of windows.

Can I still chance it if I recover this window or if I order Windows 7 (a free, I just pay what they send me) can I get it then? Or I can make clear installation and then chanse on 32-bit or install Windows xp and upgrade to Windows 7?

    Hey Buddy

All first if burn you the Toshiba Recovery disk using the Toshiba Recovery disk you can still restore Vista 64 bit any time you want. This disk contains an image of the factory settings and can be restored if you start from the disc.

Your question about the different versions of Windows (upgrade, etc) is quite complicated, but theoretically, you can install what you want. An upgrade to Windows 7 is possible if you are using Vista, update on XP isn t possible. In addition, you can pass only to the same version, which means that Vista 32 bit can only be upgraded to Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit to 64-bit only.

  • How can I access the recovery on my Satellite L500D-00F partition?

Hi, I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L500D-00F delivered with Windows 7 Home Premium and my OS is not working properly so I need to boot from the recovery partition, but I can't find a way to do...

    =============
    FULL ARTICLE: P
    =============

The first startup launched the hidden restore partition and I followed the procedure to install the OS of the computer.

At one point he asked me if I wanted to 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows 7, so I choose the default option (32 bit) because I couldn't find anywhere in the specifications of L500D of the merchant that is was a 64-bit processor.

After the installation of the computer, it started Windows 7 properly and I could hear the startup sound, see my office for a second and the screen went black, nothing worked at all and I discovered that my computer was actually a unit of 64-bit, so that is probably why the video driver does not work properly, I guess. Whenever I start my laptop, I see my desktop for a second then it goes black and crashes like this.

    ====================
    END OF THE STORY: P
    ====================

In any case... I want to restart this recovery partition and reinstall my operating system using the 64-bit version.

How can I boot from the recovery partition on my L500D-00F... AND PLEASE don't tell me to hit F8 during the startup, I already tried this and NO I don't have a "Repair" option The first is 'Safe mode' and there is no option 'Fix' or 'retrieve '.

Also, in Windows Disk Manager (that I can use in some way when I boot in safe mode) I see two hidden partitions, a 10 GB and a 1.5 GB, so I KNOW they are there, I did not delete them and they should be intact.

Any help is appreciated, but don't tell me to hit F8 when starting, this has already been tried: P

    Thanks for the comments.
On this forum, that we have already talked about this and of course access to the data recovery is not the same for all models of laptop. F8 method is for example for models Europeans and several people from the Australia or even Canada reported on the use of the 0 button.

In any case, I'm happy to know that everything is going well.

    Good bye

  • Re: Can I install WXP on Satellite L500D - 12 p?

Yesterday, I received by Satellite L500D - 12 p, new with Free DOS. I would like to install Win XP, so when I put the installation CD of XP, came a few blue windows, something like BSOD, error screen with some kind of information that there is no space, memory to install. Then I heard accidentally than laptops usually cannot save hard drive, so I'll need some SATA and USB floppy or something like that the controllers (don't know which means that!).

So, I wonder how to install Windows XP on L500D 12 p?

    Grateful, best wishes!

Before you install Windows XP Home edition on your new laptop check if this model of laptop is WXP supported.
I mean if you can't find the drivers of Windows XP Home edition and all the important tools and utilities there is no sense to start the installation of Windows XP Home edition.

By the way: you created installation of recovery DVD?

  • Satellite L500D: 64 bit Win recovery disk is 32-bit - can I restore 64-bit?

    Hi all

    I have a Satellite L500D, which has Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit.
I have the recovery CD is 32-bit, however, and I need to reinstall Windows.

I'm assuming that this drive can install the 32-bit version and does not give you the option - if after installation, is there always a partition on the HARD drive for the 64 bit version?

If possible, I want to continue to use the 64-bit edition.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Did you create this disc using the Toshiba Recovery Media creator?

If so, then the pre-installed Win 64 bit should be part of the image that you created using this software.

Generally, when booting, you should get the option where you could choose between 63 bits and 32 bits of the system.

  • How can satellite L500D-11J - I disable the microphone?

    Hello

I have a similar problem with the microphone. All of a sudden he turned on, resonating with the speakers. When skyping it doesn't work anymore. I have a PRO SATELLITE L500D-11J. What should do?

The microphone is integrated with the webcam? How can I set the microphone while keeping speakers on?

    Hey,.

Theoretically the microphone can be disabled in the settings of Windows Volume. That's why you should select the input devices and disable it there all what s! :)

In addition, the microphone is a part of the webcam and this is why you can update the driver for the webcam. Normally the microphone lights up if you use the webcam.

  • Where can I find the drivers of Windows XP Home for Satellite L500D?

Just got my new laptop bueat you. It has AMD processor and stuff and is perfect. But I need to adapt to a new hard drive to install XP as I have always only on Win 7. I couldn't get it to dual boot, more like I do a clean install less all that junk factory installed.
I need XP drivers for the batch. The Australian Toshiba site isn't very useful and ascomprehensive than the United States and I find it difficult to find anything.

Yes I love XP because it has gave me free PCing struggling for a long time. Win7 is good but I need to do a full install of OS and I don't want to wipe WIN 7 either.

So if anyone knows where I can get the drivers made me know. I don't know which ones to go down the American site, their codes of models are different.
I build my own desk tops, so I would have a total control over everything, even this one.

    Hello

I found a few Win XP drivers for some series Satellite L500D on the European driver Toshiba page:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

See the page and try to install drivers Win XP only.
All the other missing drivers, you will need to collect clean hands.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L500D - update BIOS, covered by warranty?

Hi, I bought a Satellite L500D in September of last year. The weekend comes, he suggested I should keep the machine etc. updated drivers so I logged on the Toshiba web site and there was a link with * New * Bios Update, i.e. After choosing the etc. good model from the dropdown boxes.

The update seemed to work however when the machine is re-start, he went through the boot process closed however it has not started up.

I tried to choose the boot in SafeMode etc and tried to reinstall the backup CD, but I can't get the machine to start. I have now put the machine in to authorized service center for Toshiba to fix.

As I followed the instructions on the web site of Toshiba is that this should be covered by the warranty?

    Thank you

    Hello

No, the update of the BIOS is not covered by warranty! This update happens on your own risk, and you can find this information on Toshiba Web site e too.

  • Satellite L500D PSLK0A Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator does not work properly

    Hello

I am trying to create a recovery for my Toshiba Satellite L500D PSLK0A-00U009 disc.
When I run the Recovery Disc Creator he starts to open then it comes up with a box with an exclamation point, he says: 'cannot open target partition. Then the recovery disc creator will open. It seems normal, then when I insert a CD for the process seems to work then it says error and stop and ejects the CD, the error is that the code is: 0E01B5-26-510444 D 9

I already uninstalled and then program then reinstalled with the help of a download from the Web MyToshiba site and this has not fixed the problem.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

Have you tried different discs from different manufacturers?
How about you, USB flash memory usage? AFAIK, you can create a bootable Recovery USB flash stick too.

  • Satellite C50D-B-120 seems to be slow

Has anyone else had problems with this laptop model?

Mine seems slow but on further review that this is indeed the parties stop and start intermittently and not all at once.

The keyboard and touchpad are more obvious because the cursor seems to stutter on and often typed letters do not appear on the screen for a few seconds.

WiFi also cuts out intermittently as well as Ethernet and other ports.

Also I tried to do a factory reset which takes no more than 20-25 minutes to write the recovery disk 'C' partition, but it takes more than 3 hours! This time does not include the implementation of the laptop after the reset.

What should I do with what it is unusable and only bought new at argos, 2 weeks ago.

Satellite C50D-B-120 seems to be equipped with 4 GB of RAM only...
I think an upgrade to 8 GB would be desirable.

Also the applications and the amount of the process that runs in the background can slow down the laptop and the system performance.

What you can try to do is to clean the system using CCleaner.
Also turn off some nonessential processes that start when the system starts.

  • Satellite L500D won't start

    Hello

My Toshiba Satellite L500D won't start.

When I start my laptop lights three on the light green left, the two on the left are not green or red. I hear the coolingfan, no beeps at startup. When I start the laptop with a systemdisk is the same, nothing happens.

I have contact the supportdesk and they said it could be the hard drive, this seems a little strange for me because I can't begin with a systemdisk.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction

    Buddy

    Hello

Unfortunately on this virtual path, it is not easy to say with certainty what can be the problem.
It will be interesting to know what you did with your computer laptop last days.
Have you installed some day or anything that may be responsible for the issue described?

    Update the BIOS maybe?

  • Replace the drive in Satellite L500D 13 c - recommendations

    Hello!

I plan to replace the HARD drive (5400 RPM) underway with a new, more fast (7200 RPM) HDD in my Toshiba Satellite L500D - 13 c. The question is how much it will improve the overall performance of my laptop.

The second question is whether it's hard to replace the HARD drive in this notebook. I'm not a great computer, but I'm pretty handy in general so I'm willing to try if this isn't great risk.

Earlier, I was thinking about upgrading the RAM (from 4 to 8 GB) in the same notebook, but it seems as if there is no support RAM Pentecost 8 GB of capacity. Anyone who has had the same thoughts?

Any help or thoughts on this is much appreciated.

    See you soon!

    Anders

Replacing the HARD drive is not problematic and, in my opinion, free for guests, so no risk guarantee valid for laptop for you to avoid. Check the user s manuals document. Maybe you will find a description how to do this.

My personal opinion is that the HARD drive with a faster HARD drive upgrade is not necessary. HARD drive will be a bit faster but, in my experience, faster hard drives produce more heat too so it can happen that the Briefcase for laptop computer where the HARD drive is placed will be a little warmer than before.

What is the reason for the upgrade of the HARD drive? Just better performance of the laptop?
