Satellite L500D - can only burn the recovery of 1st and 2nd disc

I bought this 2nd hand computer laptop in the last two days with the factory default reset. However, I could only burn the 1st recovery disc 2 of 4 using Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator.

I am running Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit. I started at F8 factory reset "out of the box" settings that went well. I did where there was a small problem when the previous owner restored to factory settings.

As he had SP1, I installed SP2. I upgraded the BIOS to 1.1 to 1.4, the latest. I also installed the latest version of Recovery Disc Creator for L500D, after uninstalling the old version.

Downloads from http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/notebooks/satellite/l500/pslk0a-00r009/download.

I changed to another brand of DVD blank. I have checked and unchecked "Verify" in the Recovery Disc Creator. I also have the latest installed version of the Toshiba disc Creator software. I tried to burn discs 3 & 4 separately overall

I get no error message, just as the taskbar progress 3rd disc ends never quite at the end. The former owner has never created a set of the factory restore disks. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello

to be honest, I have not idea why t he does not burn it. I can offer you:

1. use a high quality like Dvd - R verbatim media

> I also installed the latest version of Recovery Disc Creator for L500D, after uninstalling the old version.

2 maybe, he won't burn with Toshiba disc creator software update. Restore back factory settings and try again with the old version of Toshiba disc creator.

  • Satellite L350: Can not access the recovery partition by pressing 0

    Heya

I can not access the recovery on a Toshiba L350 Manager. I tried pressing 0 (zero, two of them) at first to access HD-recovery, but nothing happens. Is there something obvious that I'm missing?

The reason why I want to access is:
I have a l350 Toshiba with a partially installed windows here. For now, he gets the "starting Windows" and "instalation program's services began" (in Norwegian) which stops with a popupbox saying: "the computer unexpectedly inexplicable, or an unexpected error has occurred. The site amenities cannot procceed. To install Windows, you will need to click ok to restart the computer. Start the installation process. ».

What started the problem was that during the last part of the installation (after Win7 becomes usable, but above all has been installed), escape was pressed, and the computer has been used normally.

    > I can not access the recovery on a Toshiba L350 Manager. I tried pressing 0 (zero, two of them) at first to access HD-recovery, but nothing happens. Is there something obvious that I'm missing?

    I assume you are using a European model for laptop and so you should try it;
-Press on F8 laptop computer power on.
    -Then choose fix my computer
    -Then Toshiba HDD Recovery.

This should allow you to start the Toshiba HDD recovery process.

  • Satellite A200: Can I use the recovery disc without wiping the drive

I read the threads on this forum, but I did not come with an exact answer to my problem.

With my regular PC, I got a disc of Installation of Vista, which is also a recovery disk (like that could do with XP). One of the most useful things is that when you start from the disc you have an option to "fix" the system, which means that all the vital files (such as the bootloader...) will be restored, but otherwise all data will remain. This is extremely important when for example you install a dual boot with Linux, when often Vista refuses to start and to repair the boot loader has solved the problem. Of course it can easily and quickly fix all kinds of other problems in the system as well.

My laptop Toshiba A200 (otherwise a wonderful machine), came with the Toshiba product recovery disc. From everything I read on the forum and what he says on the disc itself, I understand that it only allows a total reinstallation of the system, set at the factory, wiping your drive and everything on it.

Toshiba really leaves us without a 'repair' option '?
I find that quite amazing, because after all, I paid for the Vista operating system, so why shouldn't I get the options I would have if I had an original Vista disc?

If all the above I have is right, it means that if I want to install a dual boot with Ubuntu and would get a bootloader problem, I loose all my data when I have to repair the boot loader? (A problem which, with the option 'fix', takes only 5 minutes to fix!).

I would like to hear reactions, solutions, suggestions or alternatives.

    Thanks in advance,
    Yossi Beck

    Hey Yossi

I think you have misunderstood something!

You received with the image of Toshiba Toshiba Recovery CD! The image contains drivers Vista OS, Toshiba, tools, utilities, and additional programs!

Please don't compare this disc for the original CD of Microsoft Vista and don t mix it!

So using this disk, you can set the laptop back to factory settings!
This is very useful because this procedure takes about 10 minutes only and you get everything functioning OS with all the drivers, tools, etc.

Please note that no all users and customers who buy these phones are technicians and scientists ;) but simply newbie and such possibility of recovery is always welcome!

but the use of this recovery CD format the whole HARD drive and erases all partitions.
That is why it s advisable to back up the data before using the recovery CD/DVDs

  • Satellite A300 - how to use the recovery with external DVD drive disc?

    Hello

    I bought a toshiba Satellite A300 - 15 d

FTM the tsscorp drive that is installed in the camera no longer works (does not detect any type of media what so ever). ) need to recover the laptop, so I used a USB DVD drive to boot from the restore disc, but after that the charges of recovery console it says waiting for media in the f: drive, which is the tsscorp drive although I used an external drive to load the disc.

What files should I edit to make it to load from the drive externally and if this isn't the solution, what do I do?

    Thanks in advance

    Hey Buddy,

Unfortunately I think that it of not possible to use the recovery with external CD/DVD drive disc. Therefore, place the internal for use the recovery disc.
You can get a new drive to an authorized service provider.

But if the original OS from Toshiba is installed, you can use the function of disk recovery HARD reinstall Windows as well. Go to the advanced boot menu (F8) and select Repair my computer :)

  • How can I access the recovery on my Satellite L500D-00F partition?

Hi, I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L500D-00F delivered with Windows 7 Home Premium and my OS is not working properly so I need to boot from the recovery partition, but I can't find a way to do...

    =============
    FULL ARTICLE: P
    =============

The first startup launched the hidden restore partition and I followed the procedure to install the OS of the computer.

At one point he asked me if I wanted to 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows 7, so I choose the default option (32 bit) because I couldn't find anywhere in the specifications of L500D of the merchant that is was a 64-bit processor.

After the installation of the computer, it started Windows 7 properly and I could hear the startup sound, see my office for a second and the screen went black, nothing worked at all and I discovered that my computer was actually a unit of 64-bit, so that is probably why the video driver does not work properly, I guess. Whenever I start my laptop, I see my desktop for a second then it goes black and crashes like this.

    ====================
    END OF THE STORY: P
    ====================

In any case... I want to restart this recovery partition and reinstall my operating system using the 64-bit version.

How can I boot from the recovery partition on my L500D-00F... AND PLEASE don't tell me to hit F8 during the startup, I already tried this and NO I don't have a "Repair" option The first is 'Safe mode' and there is no option 'Fix' or 'retrieve '.

Also, in Windows Disk Manager (that I can use in some way when I boot in safe mode) I see two hidden partitions, a 10 GB and a 1.5 GB, so I KNOW they are there, I did not delete them and they should be intact.

Any help is appreciated, but don't tell me to hit F8 when starting, this has already been tried: P

    Thanks for the comments.
On this forum, that we have already talked about this and of course access to the data recovery is not the same for all models of laptop. F8 method is for example for models Europeans and several people from the Australia or even Canada reported on the use of the 0 button.

In any case, I'm happy to know that everything is going well.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A300 - I can't find the recovery disk creator

    Hello world!

Need help with my Satellite A300. I lost the recovery disc optical I burned when the laptop was new. Now when I try to burn a new disc of recovery can't get the Recovery Disc Creator - not on the desktop or in the Start meny. I still have the folder with all the left recovery files - a folder named HDDRecovery with 4.5 GB size. The problem is to know how to burn the disc.

    Can anyone help?

    iMate, Sweden

    Hello!

You have reinstalled the laptop with your own version of Windows?

The problem is that the recovery disc creator can t be downloaded. So I think you use HARD drive recovery function to restore the factory settings. After that, it is perhaps possible to burn the disc of recovery again.

    Good bye

  • Windows 7 Home Premium OA product key can be used only with the recovery disk?

I bought an Acer laptop, he arrived with Windows 7 Home Prem OA sticker behind. I've heard, if you want to reinstall windows, we can only use Acer Recovery Disc for this product keys? Is this right? Can I use any other Windows 7 Home Prem CD and install it and then I put the product key of the laptop, it can also?

    Thank you

You can use a disk from Windows 7 Home Edition Premium authentic retail.

There is no need to separately download OEM or retail of Windows 7 RTM installation DVD ISO, as the release of Windows 7 installation can be easily converted using simply the correct product key (for example OEM_SLP product key can convert an installation of Windows 7 at retail in OEM version), as issued by the OEM product keys has a different basis of the retail product key. For ISO of DVD images, the only difference between a Windows 7 RTM retail ISO and ISO of OEM of Windows 7 RTM is in position of EI.cfg file [channel], which specifies the sales channel to retail or OEM.

  • I have only 300 GB, I discovered that 32 of the tokk games up to 3.32 GB. Can I burn it to a DVD and use them like that?

I have only 300 GB, like I had more but don't know how to do in this regard. I win a lot of Bigfish games, I discovered that 32 of the tokk games up to 3.32 GB. I have more than a hundred of their games I bought so I hate to remove them. Can I burn it to a DVD and use them like that?

I may be possible. There are several factors that can stop the games run from a DVD.
A better option for success would be to use a USB stick, but I'll be referring to DVD.
The kind of games that you download big fish are more likely to be able to run from a DVD a lot of games. The best way to know is to burn on a DVD, but the process will be a little tricky when you burn the game to the DVD it will change the installation path (from C:\ to the drive letter of your DVD eg - E:\).
    You can try the following-
-Copy the folder of games on DVD

-Rename the folder the game is installed on the HARD drive. Just add a few letters before the name of the game, for example, Bejeweled to aaa Bejeweled.
If the experiment fails, simply remove you the extra letters and plays the game.
    (a) - If you do this, you go back to the original name to uninstall the game if you want to later, and the Launcher of Big Fish (or what is called the Big Fish program) may have a problem when you rename the Games folder as well, so don't try to run the game from the Big Fish app to use a shortcut.

-Make a new shortcut to the games .exe in the folder that you copied to the DVD. and see if the game will be launched from there.
    (a) you must always change the path on the new shortcut if it still reads
the original location of the game is installed.
To do this, you change the drive letter in the properties (R\Click on the shortcut)
in the original example - C:\.  There are two places you need to do this-
'Target' and ' start in '. If the name of the games is long, it may be easier to copy the
'Target' in Notepad to reveal the path drive. You can change the path of the reader here and then copy and passed to the 'target' box in the properties of the shortcut.
Do the same with "start in" if necessary.

If you have a lot of video or music, then they would be more suitable for playing from a DVD.
If you are running low on HARD disk space the best option is to install a second drive HARD a 500 GB HARD disk is cheap, better value for money than a USB key and easy to install.  There are many tutorials on the i-net for installation
    a HARD drive.

  • I can't finde the recovery of my Satellite A100-163 disc

Sorry, but you can t use disk recovery of the A60. It will not work.

You can order a new Toshiba Recovery disk:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/

Or you go to a FSA (authorized service provider) to get a new:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported downloads & => find an ASP.

You can also use an original disc from Microsoft, but here, you install all the drivers manual and time consuming.

  • Satellite M70-181 to perform the recovery of proceeds of DVD USB drive

    Hello

I am trying to recreate the image on my Satellite M70 181 using the product recovery DVD.
Should be easy, you might say, but the internal DVD player no longer works.
I don't want to buy a new laptop this quite old, so I borrowed an external USB drive.

After that I inserted the product recovery DVD the notebook starts from there, autoexec creates a RAMDRIVE and copy the files from there.
"Recover.bat", the external DVD player analysis must be accessible via the X: drive. However, there are has some missing files on the DVD to mount the external DVD drive: there is no file % RAMDRV%\TOOLS\USB20. DEV, nor a file % RAMDRV%\TOOLS\USB11. DEV.
Failure of the attempt to mount the external hard drive, recover.bat starts a loop saying 'Please insert Recovery CD #1!'.

What can I do now? Help, please.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

As much I know this model of laptop can't boot from USB CD/DVD drive and CD recovery.
You can boot from the USB FDD drive and a bootable floppy drive but I doubt that this is not possible with a Toshiba restore disk.

I think that you could use this recovery disk as part of internal ODD.

Got a Probook 6450 b that crashed. don't burn the recovery disk so need to recovery disks. tried to order online, but the site does not deliver in my country of origin.

Have a friend who has a probook 6450 b but a processor 2.1 GHz and Windows 7 Home Premium OS. Mine is Wondows 7 Pro, 2.4 GHz. can I use its on my laptop recovery disks?

How can I get preinstalled HP software back?

Tell us about the hard drive crashed.  You can link it to your desktop and make a check disk on it? Which can make new bootable.  If you don't care the utility partition and recovery being installed (you really won't need if you download and make the disc), and then download it here (you might put in your key Microsoft 25-digit Windows 7 Pro code):

  • DVD - R can only burn with DirectCD - Roxio, Ultra ISO recognize CDburning only - why?

Added a Lite-on DVD - RW DH20A4P model (last year) to archive the files from my old system.  Old system: Mobo is FIC AD - 11w / Athlon XP 1800 (NOT overclocked, running 1.67 Ghz) 768 MB mem, 3 disks hard w/640 GB of storage, Win XP home.  House built in 2001, updated 6 times.  As much as I know can I stay completely up-to-date.

DVD only burn if formatted in DirectCD, and can add files to burn (rather clumsy, loses 600 MB + ability to format).  Ultra acknowledged the capacity DVD-burn ISO or Roxio 5.  Tried a few free programs, same result.  Tried stripping up to only 2 drives (C and DVD - no luck).  In addition, "my computer shows the DVD - RAM H drive and CD J drive, however there is no other CD player.  Capacity DVD opens and burner programs Raphael CD without problem but abort engraving showing "no dvd drive found" or words to that effect.

What keeps programs to recognize the DVD burner?  They all read capacity but can not burn a file assembled on it.  What could cause this?

    Hey Newton,

    ·         The drive appears in Device Manager?

I suggest that you run the next Fixit tool and see if it helps.

Your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media
