Satellite L505 - 10 M - problem starting from Icidu 16 GB usb key

A few weeks ago, I bought an Icidu 16 GB usb key.
And I have the following problem:

Selection screen of the BIOS does not go as everything else with a prepared Unetbootin usb key with UBUNTU12.04 on my Toshiba L505 - 10 M with W7x64 Home Premium.
BIOS select (F12) and the bios (F2) Setup stops after you have clicked.
After that, I installed again with Unetbootin, same result. ICIDU 16 GB.

On the desktop with Win XP pro X 32 no problems with this stick.
Selection of the BIOS and Ubuntu started OK.
FRIEND BIOS
An another usb Unetbootin doesn't stick with Mint 12 no problem on this Toshiba L505 - 10 M. Hema 4 GB.
After that, I made the stick Icidu new boot-able with creator usb Multiboot-YUMI with the same result!

My question is: IS THIS a STICK or A PHOENIX BIOS TOSHIBA PROBLEM?

ICIDU assistance points me to Toshiba

The name of the BIOS: Ver 1.00PARTTBL
SMBIOS version: V2.10
BIOS date: 05/06/2010

Does this mean that you could boot from another stick using Unetbootin usb stick with Mint 12?

  • Satellite L505-13F - overheating problem?

    Hello

Nearly a year after the purchase of a Toshiba Satellite L505-13F, I started noticing problems with temperature (it starts goes to 70º, sometimes more, hitting 89º), even had the computer just turned off (not the right way through the windows, instead, in an instant, it's on, the other is off when it hits 90 degrees). I bought a cooling rack to keep the computer at low temperatures, but the position is not so good and temperatures get brought to 60º at best, but does not solve the problem temporarily.

Usually, I have Skype (normally I'm not on a call so the cpu is not dope, but I the ocasional call), msn, irc, have a program to check emails regularly (thunderbird) and have firefox open. Maximum CPU spikes or 32% with all these open (normally this is 9 to 14% or more), so I don't think it's any problem related to the massive processing (but like anything else, sometimes it stings to the largest percentage, but not so much that, nor for as long). I use all these at the same time. Because of the temperature problem, I installed an app to regularly check the State of the system.

The problem is internally in the computer, I guess it's maybe because the fan is stuck or something. I clean the dust when it's time, but it also solves the problem temporarily (I do not open the housing of the computer, however, because it is under warranty and I don't want to void the warranty or break the computer). I would like to find a more permanent solution without having to buy anything else I don't think it's the right solution for the problem.

The computer was purchased in 2010 and the warranty is 2 years, so I guess it's possible to send the computer to fix, but I'm not aware of the procedure of this situation.

After showing the problem, the question is: what are the steps required to check this problem? I have to send the laptop to the store (where I bought it) to send to toshiba or what I need to send it to me?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

PS: I'm an advanced user, I do a lot of things with the computer, but I can survive a few days without computer (maybe: P)

    > As the problem is internal to the computer, I guess that's maybe because the fan is stuck or something. Dust and debris are the main reasons why the laptop overheats. Dust inside the cooling modules prevent fans turn faster which affect the cooling and leads to a higher temperature.
So, as you said; withdrawal of aid of dust that you and this should be made from time to time.

It is a temporal solution for you, you say? Hmm, I do not know how you want to use the laptop is a room free of dust? Only this would prevent the dust of cooling modules.

I have to clean my laptop using a jet of compressed air. This allows and does not affect my warranty.

    welcome them

  • Re: Satellite A300D-13 has: problems starting - starts not or only black screen

Hello, I have a Satellite A300D-13 has and the problem is, when I try to start the laptop for most, he tries to boot from the hard drive or the DVD drive but then he just stops and starts again immediately to do the same. In this case 4 or 5 times. Once it seems that it starts well, but the only thing I see is a black screen. And the keyboard does not work either.

If I try several time with closing by pressing the power button (you know who I mean), I managed it starts normally (but such a situation is always annoying). Moreover, it seems that this happens only when I did use the laptop for a while. So maybe it has something to do with the temperature. But more or less 20 ° C in my room.

In the Bios I have change the boot order of the sources (I can't change it much more)

I am grateful for any kind of help.
Thank you for your cooments in advance

    Hello

The issue could be related to software, but also for the hardware problem.
But first, we have to check if it s a software problem.

You are using the original operating system preinstalled by Toshiba. Is this good?
AFAIK the most recent series of laptop is equipped with HARD drive recovery option.
In this case, the Toshiba Recovery DVD has not been delivered with the laptop but there is an option to create a.
HARD drive recovery option can be used to reinstall and update the operating system.
I would recommend to repair the operating system and reinstall it again by pressing the F8 key. The Advanced Startup menu should appear and then you must choose to repair your computer.

This option will start the recovery procedure and the BONES to relocate again.
Please check if a new facility will improve the situation with Notepad.
In addition, it would be desirable to update the BIOS, if a newer version of the BIOS is available on the European driver Toshibas page.

If this suggestion won't help you then whole notebooks material must be check by a local ASP.

  • Satellite L300D - 12L does not start from CD/DVD drive

    Hello.

I noticed a couple of threads on L3x who sometimes won't start but have a blinking cursor.
I also have this problem with my daughter satellite.

It occurs when there is a disc in the DVD player. The PC does not start, I get a black screen with a cursor and the DVD flashes regularly as if she is trying to determine if there is a bootable disc inserted.

I tried several discs with similar results.
Everything that happens the DVDRW ejects, and I have to force a shutdown, then eject the disc immediately when I start her for it boot on Vista.

    Any ideas greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Have you tried to boot from the recovery disk Toshiba?

Fact is if you try to install the Windows operating system on the new laptop series, you must install either the drivers SATA or you must set compatible SATA to AHCI mode in the BIOS!

That's why check first before you would contact any ASP guy to replace the STRANGE.

    See you soon

  • Satellite L20-100 can be started from a USB external hard drive?

I recently bought Toshiba Satellite L20-100 and I wonder if:
    1. is it possible to boot this machine from a disk usb external drive?
    2. it is possible to attach another internal hard drive?

Assuming that the two answers above are 'no', how can we solve the following problem: I need hard drive space, I need to launch 3 systems of separate Wxp operating on the same machine (Toshiba Satellite L20-100).

You are right. The answer is no. Only thing you can do is to create 3 partitions and install on each a favorite OS. Using the Boot Manager, you will be able to choose one that fits in the beginning upward.

  • Satellite C870D-119 does not start from CD/DVD drive

I changed the boot sequence in the BIOS to the optical device is referenced to boot the system before the hard drive. The bad news is that the CD player is started but after 30 seconds, the system hard disk takes over and starts Windows 10.
I need to create a full backup of the system offline.
How can I make the labtop will boot from the CD drive?
    Thanks for any help.

    What is on the CD?
If the CD is MSDOS, Vista or XP or Win7 based, you must set the startup Boot of MSC mode.
If the CD has Win8 or Win10 then you start in UEFI boot mode.

Hi, I use Acronis image to make backups of hard disk of my G10. I have to be able to boot from the CD Acronis Rescue Media ISO I created. • Money from Microsoft 2003. USB key to the high problems.__Windows Vista.

I usually backup Microsoft money to drive flash usb without problem. I just bought a new larger Lexar usb flash drive that works perfectly with all the other functions/programs outside Microsoft money. It backs up the data so then he said to put in the next floppy disk. I tried to format the flash drive in various formats, but it still will not be considered like a flash drive. The flash player works fine in all other aspects, but it seems to be a problem with Microsoft money recognizing the drive. All responses appreciated

  • Problems with Vista after disconnecting external USB key without using 'remove hardware safely '.

A week ago, I unplugged my external Seagate USB drive without using a 'Remove hardware safely' first of my Vista pc.  Since reconnecting the drive, I had a series of problems.  The drive itself seems to be ok.   I am able to read and write to files on the disk.  I'm not able to do is the following:

    (1) open disk management.  It hangs on "Connecting to Virtual Disk Service".

    (2) stopping or starting without windows to snap or take an extra long time to stop or start.

    (3) failed to start Google Picasa3 or Adoble Photoshop Elements 7.  They both hang him.  I am able to use other programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Miro, Norton Antivirus.

Points 1 and 2 above work fine if the drive is not connected.  I plugged the drive into another computer (Windows 7) and ran Seagate disk checking utility.  He came clean back (no bad sectors) so that the drive is NOT corrupted.  (Check of the Seagate utility disk hung on my pc Vista.)   It seems that something related to the disk under Vista service is corrupted.

I also see "driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\Harddisk2\DR2." event message for different devices.  I also tried a restore to a point just before that the problem occurred.

I don't want to reinstall Vista therefore looking for a solution.  Thank you.

  • Problems starting yoga 13

    Hello
I got a new Ideapad 13 of Yoga that has problems starting from time to time, especially when I carry in a backpack.

This time, the battery discharged when it was suspended. Connecting it to the power, it begins with orange battery LED and says no device detected start and does not detect SSD.

Power it off and try to restart, it lights. The battery has charged more than 20% but still does not start.

Long pressing power until it shuts off and try to restart it sees turning white power led for like 1 or 2 seconds then turn off.

Unplug the power cable and in him plugging back sees so much power and battery LED light white balance, but computer does not.

He did before, with the behavior of a few hours to a day or more.

    What could be the problem.

At took the camera to the centre of care. They say that the problem is the battery.

Kenya Lenovo declined to replace the battery or manipulate the laptop in the future because I bought it in the United States. Maybe it's what is causing the problem, buying the camera in a country of the first world rather than a third world country where the poor customer service is the norm.

The stellar nursery fixed also the keyboard bad - it now top down bounces when you type keys.

Laptop computer now boots, but wonder how long before the return of the issue.

Whether to ship a $75 battery or rteurn think the * bleep * thing and request a refund.
