  I assume that my L550 main fan does not run correctly.
  For example, I want to play a game of detail with DX10, every thing works perfectly without lag, but after 1 to 5 minutes, the system becomes slower and slower until the game crashes to the desktop.
  Then when I'm on the desktop the trys L550... to cool at the end dear BIOS ;-).
  I had the same problems with similar games and even compared to the indicators.

  So my question is: is there a unoffical BIOS update that will support fan control options? I already have the latest version of the BIOS, but it's not. Or is there still a software that works very well with L550?

  Just a question: what display driver you are using?
  As far as I know your laptop is equipped with ATI HD4650 graphics card and therefore, you need to download the latest driver on Toshiba page:

  Also what operating system are you using? It is the preinstalled operating system from Toshiba?

  If you use Windows Vista, you can change the cooling method in Vista Power Management. Set the cooling option and try again.

  I don't know my exact model. It's just a Satellite, and this is the only information I can find.

  Please reduce down to a single antivirus only. Go to the website of each manufacturer of ALL you had on that

  I'd keep Avira as NOD32 has been known to cause problems.

  I put t know what Windows OS, you have, but I assume you are using Win 7 64 bit. Right?

  L550 - 18M belongs to the PSLNEE series.
  It seems that there are not many drivers released for this series.
  But there are drivers for other series Satellite L550 touchpad.

  Alps Electric and Synaptics touchpad drivers are released.
  As a download driver choose;
  -Satellite
  -Satellite L series
  -Satellite L550
  -All (short model)
  -All (operating system)
  -Touchpad driver

  Then, you will get all the drivers for the touchpad.

  PS: don't forget the touchpad settings in Control Panel-> mouse-> device settings

  The AutoPlay option isn't appearing any more in Win 7 under the CD/DVD drive properties.

  In General, you can buy everything you want. This number is for the RAM that is recommended by Toshiba. Recommended modules are tested ad will work for sure.

  You can also buy some piece of cheap hardware, but please don't cry here if your laptop does not start successfully with these Rams. This forum is full of such offers.

  Please note: the Modules of RAM 'Value' use many chips cheap using several banks/channels, which can cause problems of compatibility with some Chipsets/CPUS.

  To be honest it s I do not know that the L550 would be affected by the same problem of keyboard as the L670.
  Have you tested this behavior of the laptop with an external USB keyboard?

  You can find two versions of Alps Electric and the other from Synaptics. You must install two drivers!
