Hello

I wanted to upgrade the ram 3 GB to 8 GB. I have kingston 4gbx2 and bios made switch to 2.4.
BIOS recognizes the 8 GB of ram, but windows does not start and keeps restarting.

Any help
Thank you

According to the specifications of the laptop you need to DDR3 1066 MHz RAM modules.
Compatible 4 GB of RAM has PA3677U-1M4G part number.

Kingston reference number is KTT1066D3 / 4G and it is replaced with ATC - S3B / 4G.

One you have?

    Hello

The laptop supports Intel® 945 GM chipset.
This chipset supporting 533 MHz max.
So if you plug in modules of memory 667 MHz, the system would still works at 533 MHz.
The modules are DDR2 so I put t see any reasons why the dual channel does not work in your case.

    > On the HARD disk, what is the maximum capacity of the HARD drive that I cannot in stall in the same model because I have 1 TB, so it will work?

Laptop supports the SATA interface. The SATA controller has no limitation to the size of the HARD drive, so, theoretically, you should be able to use this large HDD but to be honest; I've never used this large HDD. The largest that I used in by cell phone was 500 GB and it was big enough.
However, you will need to test b e100% sure.

    Welcome them

  • By Satellite L655-1KE supports SATA III?

    Hello world

Sorry, but I write quickly because I repair this laptop from a friend (and need to do this before Christmas!).

The problem is that the HARD disk is dead.
So I need to buy a new one, but I have a question: does this computer motherboard support SATA III or only SATA II? The original HARD drive is SATA II.

As the HARD drive is dead, I am not able to install a tool like Everest to get information.

So, can anyone give me the answer help or is there a tool I can start and who could give me details on the SATA III supported?

Another idea, is it a tool capable of giving that there are details from the start in mod console with a Windows CD?

    Thank you in advance!

    Gourbish.

Yes, you might be right; SATA III isn't taken care of.
I had installed a compatible drive SSD SATA III but I could get max / 3 Gb/s, which means SATA II

However, the SATA is backward compatible, so you should be able to use a SATA III HARD disk but with limited performance.

  • Upgrading RAM on Satellite L655

    I have the satellite L655-149 portable (core i 5 450 M) who have (2 GB 1333 MHz RAM and 1 GB 1066 MHz),
I intend to upgrade (1 GB RAM) with (4 GB RAM) but I can not found (1066 MHz) it only (1333 MHz),
so I read the manual of (Core i5 450M) of (http://ark.intel.com/products/49022) and found it supports ONLY, (DDR3-800/1066)

I can replace (1066 RAM) with this one (1333)?

    Hello

Your laptop can move up to 8GB maximum.

Modules memory compatible RAM for your laptop are:
    1 GB DDR3-1066-PA3675U-1M1G
    2 GB DDR3-1066-PA3676U-1M2G

  • Satellite L655 - 14 d - lots of RAM will be used

    Hi all what he

I have a Satellite L655 - 14 d with 3 GB of RAM and 1 GB of dedicated video RAM problem in front, it's RAM exhausted even when the computer is left idle without any programs running in the back ground is about 65-70% of the total RAM is it normal to be like this? Help, please

    concerning
    jkjoms

    Hi jkjoms,

It depends on your installed software stuff and the operating system

If you use Windows 7 with a lot of software installed, they always start in the background, is it possible that over 50% of the RAM will be used.
So it's hard to say if it of normal or not without knowing what stuff is installed, but in general this behavior is the only associated software and has nothing to do with the material.

By the way: If you don't need some applications at startup, go to msconfig (start > run > msconfig) and disable all programs that you don't need.

You can answer this question yourself!

I checked the specifications of this laptop on the Toshiba site and you can upgrade the RAM 8 GB. Therefore, you (1 066 MHz) DDR3 RAM and two 4 GB modules. They should be the same manufacturing to avoid problems of incompatibility.

  • Re: Can not find my Satellite L655-11Z on Support Portal

    Nice day
I have a problem with finding "support for my laptop. Is from page link or www TEMPRO.

Can't find same * type of model L655 * on this website: http://ce.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/cs/generic/SUPPORT_PORTAL/
so I can not even find my version 11Z.

What makes my driver download very very hard.

Don't know if it's problem on the Czech website, or if I need to contact someone else.

    Thanks for the reply

Search driver on Toshiba support page is pretty easy.
If auto search option doesn't work, you can find it manually.

At a first look on the bottom of your laptop. You will find the Toshiba sticker with the model name for laptop, model number and serial number. What you need is the model number. For Satellite L655-11Z should be PSK1JE. Can you confirm this?

So just go to the page of download drivers Toshiba under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > support home > downstairs you will find a driver download link.
Visit please this download area and manually choose your model of laptop. Model number short choose PSK1JE. Choose operating system supported and you will find all the drivers available.

  • Satellite A100-998 - support 2 GB RAM modules?

    Hello

I'm looking to upgrade the memory of my laptop. The vehicle currently have 2x1GB modules in the expansion slots. The manual says it takes PC4200 200 pin memory, but does not specify if it will accept 2 GB sticks as this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/164911. It does not mention of the sticks of 256 MB, 512 MB and 1 GB.

However, I see no reason why he would not support the higher capacity, if I wanted to move to 4-GB memory total. Can someone confirm that this will work? Thank you!

    Andrew

    Hi André,.

According to the specs on the page of Toshiba, Satellite A100-998 supports 2-GB memory modules. This means that you can install the 2 GB of memory in each memory slot for a maximum capacity of 4 GB.

For example, I recommend high-quality Kingston modules. I always buy Kingston modules for upgrade and never had any problems.

  • Can satellite L655-14F - I change the display driver?

all I want to know if I can 'Upgrade graphics card in my laptop.

    Satellite L655-14F...... Hotel details

    "Graphics card".

type: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 related HyperMemory technology
amount of memory: 1 024 MB dedicated VRAM (total available graphics memory using HyperMemory technology can be up to 2 267 MB with 3 GB and 32-bit operating system and 8 GB memory 4 083 MB with a 64 - bit OS system memory or system)
"type of memory: DDR3 video RAM (resp. RAM video and system memory combined)"

We are talking on cell phones and the No. Laptops have a very specific design and hardware upgrade is limited. Generally updated graphics card is not supported by Toshiba, so there is no sense of thinking about it.

Cooling system's biggest problem with laptops. Each laptop has the system of cooling optimized for certain physical infrastructure. Build in the cooling system should cool the hardware components and protect them from overheating and damage.

I will now use the same word as badhat: theoretically if you upgrade graphics card, you will have more powerful piece of hardware that produces more heat than the original. More heat means more likely to damage the material.

You can upgrade level RAM or HARD drive, but everything else is meaningless. That s in my opinion.

Why don't l t buy you more powerful laptop? Something like Satellite A660, P750 or Qosmio?

  • Wi - Fi on Satellite L655 with Win8

    Hello

    I use a Satellite L655-12 q, model number short PSK1EE. It works on windows 7 x 64.
I have recently upgraded to windows 8 and noticed that the WiFi no longer works. Also flash cards do not appear when I press the Fn key.

I reinstall the drivers, but nothing seems not to work.
    Please help if you can.

WIN8 support is not yet started. In the meantime, you can try to use the Win7 drivers in the hope that they will work.
For Flash cards, you can try to reinstall Toshiba PPVS but I don t know if this will help.

New drivers to support official Win8 at startup Toshiba, tools and Utilities version will be available for regular download.

  • Is upgrade material on Satellite L655-183 possible?

    Hello

I want to know if I can plug a new processor, or may be a graphics card in my laptop Satellite L655-183.

    Thank you.

    Hello

In General, these updates is not supported - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm
On some models of CPU, upgrade is possible, but it can be quite risky.

Supported upgrade is RAM and HARD drive.

Problem is that laptops have a specific design and use some cooling system for this hardware platform. Hardware produce little heat and the material must be properly cooled. More powerful hardware will produce more heat and can result in property damage or overheating.

If you want to have more performance I recommend to increase the RAM to the maximum level and exchanging the HDD with SSD is much faster. Two upgrades are without any risk to your machine and you can do it alone.

I did it with my machine and I'm really happy now Mr. Windows (Win7) starts in 30 seconds.
