Satellite L670D - issue of recovery on the new HARD drive

Hi all.

I actually sent this support Toshiba has a few days ago, but still have received no response and thought I would try this forum.

That's the problem; the hard drive of my laptop is a failure, I had warnings to create a backup and replace the drive hard as soon as possible. I have done this and have mounted with success the computer with a new brand Hitachi 500 GB hard drive, with no problems.

Then, I entered the program installation and makes the dvd the first boot drive. The first disc of recovery in the drive and it starts perfectly and started the process. I then went through the recovery procedure with the DVD 3 x on my computer, it seemed to work flawlessly, and after inserting all 3 disks in the order as requested, I was instructed to remove the final support.

I have reset the boot hard drive and windows started normally until I got to this point. "the installation program starts services. Then comes a pop-up window saying; "windows could not complete the installation, to install windows on installation, this restart of the computer.

Of course I tried to start in a few other ways to the f8 advanced boot options, but he always does this same thing.

I can't imagine what the problem is that everything seems to go well until this?

Hope you can help me solve this problem.
Thank you
Malc Fisher

Hello

Only thing I would say is that you need to install recovery image again. Please try it out and post comments.
It will be interesting to know if the same thing will happen again.

  • How to copy the recovery on the new HARD drive partition, HARD drive failed?

    Hallo,

I have a Compaq Mini netbook with Windows 7 Starter.

The HARD drive has failed and it is not repairable. However, it seems that the recovery partition is OK.

I want to buy a new HARD drive, install the driver on the netbook, and then use the tools/recovery partition to install windows 7 on a new PC.

So, the question is simple: how to copy the recovery for the new HARD drive partition?

    Hello s91066.

If your hard drive of your laptop doesn't have? If this is the case, what do you mean by the "recovery partition is ok? I doubt that this laptop has two hard disks, so if you are able to see this partition of your hard drive may still work.

You will need a set of recovery disks to restore the partitions on the new drive. If you can start Windows, which you can probably not with a dead hard drive, you can follow these steps if you can get into Windows.

If you are unable to boot into Windows, you need a set of disks. You can order it directly from HP. The number of the United States / Canada is 1-800-474-6836. If you are in another domain, you must visit HP's Support around the world to find contact information for your region.

I hope that is useful; have a great weekend!

  • With the help of recovery on the new hard drive disks

    Hello

I have an old t160.uk of Pavilion.  The hard disk starts to sound a bit grumpy.  I have a spare I want to replace it with.  Can I create recovery discs using the partition, and then replace the hard drive and reinstall windows xp on the new drive? or the recovery disks only works on the original hard drive?

    See you soon,.

Hirroshi wrote: what determines if the new hard drive will be compatible with the recovery disk?  Could I connect the new hard drive in another Bay and try to use the recovery disk, before removing my old hard drive?

Hello Hirroshi, it seems that drives hard very little HP only work in an HP computer, or so I said. I think it has to do with some code that HP puts in the Master Boot Record, but that's just a guess. I read on the Forum that this is the case.

I suggest that you delete the partition on the replacement hard drive, and then create a new partition and format the hard drive. You should be able to use the recovery disk, if they are not damaged and that you have a valid burn.

You can try to install the replacement hard drive in the system you propose, and it can work very well. It's certainly worth a try.

Here is a link that shows how to perform a recovery facility when a hard drive is replaced.

  • Satellite L305D-S5881 does not recognize the new HARD drive

Ok. I've had this laptop for a while now.
It crashed recently. So, I tried to start it up.
I got "Winload.exe missing or damaged".

Fortunately, I found an answer to this!
I got the Vista installation disc and inserted.
I had this "PAGE_ERROR_IN_NONPAGED_AREA". I fixed too. Stick of 1 GB of RAM to my computer was bad.

So I replaced it. And during the installation, it hangs. And beeps and undesirable.
So I thought it was my hard drive. I have a new. (http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/adet.to?poid=431567 please TAKE a LOOK BEFORE RESPONDING).

I (try) to install and it does nothing.
I turn it on and it goes to this page with as my enthernet info. Then I go into the BIOS and it appears. I think I could install it wrong.

    Any help?

    Hello

I think that the new HARD drive is not recognized, because you have not installed the SATA drivers!
The new mobile phones support the new SATA controller and especially the drivers are not included in the Windows operating system.

So, you must first include the SATA drivers before install you the operating system.
AFAIK the L305D supports an AMD and ATI chipset and SATA drivers must be placed in the ATI graphics driver package.

On the other hand, you could install the operating system without the use of SATA drivers.
I think that the BIOS must contain the SATA mode option. Usually it s set to AHCI. Pass this option in compatibility mode and you should be able to install the operating system.

    Cheers mate

    Hello

IME novice steve and real computers.

Hope any 1 here can help me

    Thanks a lot steve!

In general you can swap the HARD drive or update it with more a (ability), but the installation of recovery should work. It is important to use compatible HARD drive for certain system.
I did several times in the past. No problem at all.

After HDD change the value of the BIOS default settings and start recovery installation using created the recovery disc.

Start your laptop and when you see Toshiba welcome screen pres F12 repeatedly to enter the boot menu.
When the menu is displayed on the screen, put the recovery DVD in the optical disc drive.
In the menu choose you CD/DVD and press ENTER.
    Installation of recovery should start.

Please do so and send feedback.

  • Equium A200-1V0 - recovery on the new HARD drive problem

    Hello

Hoping someone can help, I just mounted a new Toshiba 1 TB hard drive for my Equium A200-1V0, used the Vista came with the computer recovery disk, everything seems to be installed ok, but when you try to start, I get a message saying that Windows Vista is unable to run on this hardware. Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Thank you

There must be a compatibility problem. Usually the hard drives up to 500 GB are not problematic for the old machines.
If possible, try to install the version of the OS. When you can get Win7 32 bit would be great. Win7 32-bit is supported for your machine and in my view, it will work perfectly.

  • OneKey Recovery on the new hard drive

I own a lenovo ideapad Z570 and upgrade to a larger HARD drive (of 600 GB to 1 TB).

The only thing that bothers me is the "OneKey Recovery".

So my question is: How do OEM partitions and recovery, just after installing windows7 on a new (blank) HARD drive in order to facilitate the "OneKey Recovery."

    Hello
You want to have an oem installation (with preinstalled applications or you are flexible with a clean install of windows?
The okr partition will be there only in the hard disk installed in the factory and it won't work even if you copy the partition without making any changes. If you wish, you can also do a recovery partition custom of a key with your own backup recovery

  • Satellite 2805-S603 does not recognize the new HARD drive

    Too recent for 2805 controller?
Which one i should buy, he worked normally?

PS: Sorry for the bad English-_-

Seems that you have purchased a HARD drive badly and is not compatible!
I discovered that IE Toshiba MK3017GAP HARD drive is compatible with your laptop.
This HARD disk supports an ATA-5 interface and about 30GB.

If you want to be sure that the HARD drive works in your laptop 100% please contact the service provider authorized in your country and order the HARD drive support.

  • Recovery is possible on the new hard drive?

    Hello

I think about buying a new hard drive to improve the performance of my laptop Satellite.
I was wondering if it would be possible to restore my system using the recovery on the new hard drive disks.

    Thank you!

As far as I know you can do it. What you need is to buy hard drive compatible and functional.

By curiosity, but what model of laptop do you have and what hard drive you want to buy?

  • not sure: the new hard drive installation

I have a Desktop allows a hard disk which is a failure.  F9 during boot diagnostics say its bad.  I just got the HP recovery disk and I'm not sure that 'when' to instaqll them.  I put the OS on the new hard drive and then first run the recovery or recovery disk?

If you have the recovery disk set for this PC, run recovery on the new hard drive.  To install everything back like it was new again.  The installation of the OS process is executing the recovery.  Install the new hard drive, and then run the set of recovery disks.

  • Satellite P750 PSAY1A: how to create the recovery Toshiba on the new HARD drive partition

    Hello

I have an old Toshiba Satellite P750 (PSAY1A-01Y022). I just upgraded my memory from 4 GB to 8 GB and am preparing to take my 500 GB HARD drive 1 TB. I had to order the disk online and wait to happen.

I always try to understand how to create the arrival of my new HARD drive Toshiba Recovery Partition. I do the same thing for an old book, I handled based on something similar to it's original factory State.

I have reflected on the recovery partition, but does not know how it was created. It is not NTFS. Does anyone have experience in the creation of a Toshiba Recovery on a new HARD drive Partition?

And the help is very appreciated.

    Thanks and regards,
    Dinesh

Recovery partition can be created when you use the original Toshiba Recovery disk and install recovery image. Before the partitions to boot OS install will be automatically created, recovery image copied on a recovery and then partition as last step recovery image installation starts.

A sort of migration of files from one to the other HARD disk is not solution.

Only for laptop with factory will work and the usable recovery partition.

  • Re: Satellite U400-11 q with Vista has new HARD drive but no recovery disk

    Hello

Before starting a very important message: I do not usually work with pc... :-) At my work we have an IT Department for our PC :-))

However, now I have to work privately with a PC / laptop and I need help: I'm sitting in front of a Toshiba Satellite U400-11 q with a HARD drive completely newly formatted and unfortunately WITHOUT recovery CD or DVD!

So far I managed to format the new HARD drive and put a Windows Vista Home Basic (OEM software) from my old pc on this notebook. However, nothing works again (I want to get into the Internet, etc.).

So, I now have to put on all the involved drivers as well as drivers TOSHIBA original, right?

How can I do this? What drivers to I need? Do I have to download all the drivers concerned (total 113) one by one on the Web from Toshiba site?

ANY help is appreciated as I see myself spend all night in front of the PC...

    Thank you
    M

For the benefit of mobile work, you need to install all the necessary drivers and tools and utilities.
Each of them you can find on Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

Any substance must be installed according to installation order. Here it is:
    Windows Vista SP1
    Chipset Intel module
    Intel Robson (Intel iMSM Driver)
    Intel Crestline-GM / UMA Driver
    or
    AMD M82XT /M86 driver
    Audio driver Conexant CX20561
    Driver LAN Marvell 8040/8055
    Synaptics Touch Pad Driver
    Conexant Modem driver
    Wireless LAN driver
    Chicony camera software
Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba
    CIR Port driver
    TOSHIBA Value Added Package
    TOSHIBA hardware configuration utility
    TOSHIBA supervisor password
    TOSHIBA SD Memory utilities
    AuthenTec AES1610 fingerprint utility
    TOSHIBA ConfigFree
    TOSHIBA Assist
    TOSHIBA Speech System
    CD/DVD Drive Acoustic Silencer
    Toshiba HDD Protection
    TOSHIBA face recognition
    TOSHIBA TRS driver
    Broadcom V2.14.4.0

Install all the stuff on this list. If there is something missing just continue with the next.

By the way: this machine works perfectly with Win7 32-bit so I highly recommend you to use Win7 instead of Vista.

  • Satellite C660-28 d - problem "Load driver" with the new HARD drive

    I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-28 t.

The hard drive has failed. I called Toshiba Support who send me a replacement.

However in the meantime I was going to put in my spare hard drive and do a fresh install of another operating system that I have a spare for (Win 7) key.

However, I can't past the screen "Loading Drivers" as the laptop came with driver disks.
I can't find the drivers on the Toshiba site (I tried some drivers intel which I thought were good, but he says they were not signed and all comes down to the loading screen drivers).

I have made the recovery discs, but obviously can not use them on the new hard drive as it doesn't have the recovery partition.

Any ideas on where I can get the proper drivers from?

    Thank you

    > I made the recovery discs, but obviously can not use them on the new hard drive as it doesn't have the recovery partition.

If you have a recovery disk using Toshiba preinstalled recovery media creator tool, you just have to boot from that disk to begin the installation.

More info: all the recovery disk for Toshiba Europe, models of laptops can be ordered here:

  • Satellite M45 - does not start after restoration on the new HARD drive

I installed a new PATA 250 GB HDD on my pc. The BIOS is configured to boot from CD/DVD. Toshiba Recovery disk started cold, start follow-up statement to load a new system on the HARD drive. He made a (quick) format on the HARD drive, spent 50 minutes, copy the files from the CD to the new HARD drive. Followed the instructions to remove the CD and reboot the pc. Did. I get the Toshiba homepage for 2-3 seconds, and then I get a white screen with a white block cursor in the upper corner of the LH of the screen. Looks like it does not find the block on the HARD disk?
The procedure of collection 3 times with the same results. Checked the BIOS to check that it is configured to boot from the HARD disk after installation.

The recovery CD is blank. Never used because I bought the PC (3.5 years). Put the new HARD drive in a USB enclosure and formatted with Windows, tried again with the same result? Put the old HDD, PC starts and works very well. Put the live CD Knoppix and boot from that, works very well. See the new HARD drive.

Thus, any suggestions are appreciated. The recovery CD Toshiba is defective? In any case to test?

    Thank you

    Hello

Sounds like a problem with the recovery disk or the new HARD disk if your computer starts up fine with the old HARD drive...

In your case before you start a lengthy discussion, you should try a Microsoft Windows disk to install Windows. If he work it seems that only the recovery disk is defective.

Otherwise, the HARD disk must be defective. Maybe a bad sector or something else
