Satellite L70 - A - 13P - cannot get into BIOS after the BIOS setting password?

HI, Satellite L70 - A - 13P

I set up a password user and supervisor. Works very well. However, I can't get into bios. If I press F2 as usual, I have the box "enter password" (the same as for normal startup). After you type the password for the supervisor, computer continues initializing and do not get into the bios!

I keep the key pressed F2 but nothing works.
I also tried ESC, F1, INS, F12, 0.

Help.

User and supervisor password the same?
Have you been able to get into the BIOS in the past?

Proceed to a complete stop and restart the laptop. Then try with F2 or F12. When you will be asked to set supervisor password and I hope that you will be able to enter the BIOS settings.

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. You have security software installed on the computer?

  • Satellite L840/020 - can't get into BIOS after enabling the quick start option

I have a laptop Toshiba L840/020 (PSK8LA-020007). I recently installed a 330 Series SSD and Windows 8 Pro RTM 6.2.9200 MSDNAA on this Intel and enabled the fast boot option in the BIOS (boot speed > fast).

Now I can't get into the BIOS, no matter what I do. I tried pressing the power button / stop while pressing F2 (as suggested by a few other forums), upward on default that I tried all F and Esc keys, but nothing does. I also tried repeatedly pressing F2 during startup, plugged a USB external and supported on F2 keyboard on it, but no matter what I can't get into the BIOS.

When I go to the Toshiba support download section > 8 64 bit Windows, I see also a BIOS update for my laptop, but when I try to install I get the following error:

    Hello

First try INS then F2 key.

Then you should be able to access the BIOS, I recommend disabling the QuickStart in the BIOS if you can successfully enter the BIOS.

With regard to the update of the BIOS.
I checked the page of the Toshiba driver to THE and it seems that the BIOS v6.20 is even similar to Win 7.
I think that the BIOS update must be done running the system pre-installed Toshiba since Win 8 is not officially on the market, and to my knowledge, there are some big restrictions updated BIOS running Win 8

I have tried for two days to ge in the BIOS but failed. None of the traditional keys happen to me. After much fumbling I managed on the basis of two times get the configuration screen, but could enter the BIOS. In the installer, I chose to accept default start, but for a long time my boot process was not quite normal. I always get a press F1 to start down in the lower left corner of the screen; I don't know why that happened. If I go ahead and press F1, it starts and runs normally. I wonder if it has something to do with UEFI?

  • Pavilion P6-2378: Cannot get into the BIOS

I've recently updated my BIOS to v8.19 on my motherboard of Jasmine using service pack SP67068 after seeing a security warning on my original BIOS on the HP driver update site.  After the update, I am unable to enter the BIOS and more!  I see more startup or other screen.  Here's what I've done so far:

    (1) I entered "bcdedit/set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy" (and standard).  No splash screen.

    (2) I momentarily pressed and also pressed the ESC key during several start ups.  No splash screen.  When I press ESC after turning, the drive just stops.  To continue, I have to press Ctrl-Alt-Del to continue, and it starts Windows normally without a splash screen.

    (3) I went to change the settings of pc and navigated at startup in the UEFI Bios, but after the restart, but the computer crashes just until I press Ctrl-Alt-Del, then it boots normally into windows 8.0, but without the boot (legacy or HP splash) screen.

    (4) I opened the discount to zero the BIOS jumper and removed the battery for 5 minutes, several times.  No splash screen and press ESC or F10 after that reboot causes hang until you press Ctrl-Alt-Delete.

I wouldn't have updated the BIOS if it is not for the security warning, as it worked very well. Now, I can't get into bios no more.  Help, please.

Hello!  Yes, your right, it's the graphics driver!  But I had already updated just before I had this problem, so I rolled back the driver and still had the problem.  But then I realized that my TV is connected to the computer when I upgraded and downgraded the graphics driver.  I've updated the driver with the TV disconnected and VOILA, I see the spash screens and am able to get into the BIOS.  The graphic resolution of boot has been masking splash screens.  THANK YOU for your help.  I am very grateful.

  • 360 13 inches x spectrum: spectrum x 360 8.1 Windows stops to get into sleep after a few hours

My x 360 spectrum stops to get into sleep after a few hours of normal behavior.  In other words, when the computer is started first, he put on standby and Hibernate mode then normally after the specified idle period.  It can then be woken up and work normally and then to go back to sleep after inactivity - during a few hours.  It stops working after the computer has been for a few hours.  I don't know exactly how much time must be in place before this problem starts, but once it ceases to be able to sleep, the only way to solve the problem is to reboot the system.  Once the problem occurs, the computer turns off the screen but that's it.  He will sleep if I do it manually by pressing the button of power or a click on the Windows button and forcing them to sleep or hibernation.

I watched powercfg /requests and there is nothing listed that could prevent sleep.  I ran also report with fluo compact powercfg and it also does not list something that prevents apparent sleep.

NOTE: The energy report is also EVEN if the system still works correctly.

I found a thread on Microsoft answers community web site.  Unfortunately, it seems that Microsoft has not fixed even though this thread is over a year.  This has been driving me crazy.  In any case, the problem is with Windows 8.1 and is caused by the use of a Microsoft account to connect to the computer.  If the account is not connected, after a few hours the computer stops to fall asleep.  If you close the MS account, then the computer will sleep normally.  My dose is to convert my connection from the local computer to a local account and disconnect from Microsoft.  This process is easy to do, go into the settings of PC and disconnect the account.  It will keep your original profile.

Here is the link to the thread that got clued in the solution:

I consider this resolved issue that HP is concerned.  Microsoft needs to address the issue.  I'm not interested in switching to Windows 10 for compatibility reasons and, in this regard, the same problem can exist in the W10.
