  • Satellite C660 - 1J6 Win7 installation failed - disk HARD disabled controller

IV received a toshiba satellite c660-1j6.
The problem is that the hard drive has been deleted (including the back upward). I don't have any of the Toshiba backup disks, but I have new copies of win 7 home prem and xp pro. However when I try to install win7 that I get as far as selecting the installation drive and I click on the drive and I get the message about how windows cannot be installed to this disk please check the drive controller is enabled.

IV check the BIOS then several times and I can't find anything to do with it apart from the Mode of the SATA controller and which dose nothing.
The Toshiba tech support when no help at all. so is locked HD or BIOS, and is it possible to unlock them so I can install the o/s?

IV tested the drive by hooking up a PC desk top and installing windows like that, but as soon as I put the drive in the laptop it comes up with no installed new o/s

Can anyone give any help... or even indices, iv it for a week now and im going crazy.

    Hello

HARD drive is not locked. You can install any OS on the HARD drive.
Usually, the Windows 7 operating system already contains the SATA drivers that are required to see the HARD drive. So it of not necessary to include the SATA drivers while installing Win 7. You said that you have a copy of Windows 7 disc. Is this an original disc for Win 7 complete with functional Microsoft?
I ve installed several times Win 7 on my Toshiba notebooks and didn t need to use SATA drivers

In the BIOS, you have found the SATA controller mode. This should be set to AHCI. You can change this pressing SPACE.
But also the default BIOS settings should do the job.

  • HARD drive replacement, how to install Win7 on my Satellite L850?

    Hello world

I recently bought a Satellite L850 lappy and I want to replace the 750 GB HDD with a SSD 256 GB.
This laptop never came with a windows 7 cd or its driver cd (not too worried about it as I can find it online).

I wonder how to install windows 7 on this ssd? Download windows 7 image from a Web site (found this [http://www.mydigitallife.info/windows-7-iso-x86-and-x64-official-direct-download-links-ultimate-professional-and-home-premium/]) and just enter my product key when you are prompted as a whole to the top?

I'm quite new to these new methods as my last toshiba laptop came with everything that I needed.
    Thanks for your time

If your upgrade or replacement of HARD drive will be a success, you must install a clean version of the OS. How you will get is actually your problem, but it turns out that you must use the legal version and activate it using the legal product key.

All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can download at Toshiba support and download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

We can help you with the installation and the right installation order.

  • Satellite L850 - 1 HR and Win7-cannot install Display Driver

    Hello

I reinstalled my laptop Toshiba Satellite L850 with old Windows 7. I installed all the necessary drivers. After you install the display driver in the device under display adapetrs Manager I see the message that the adapter is not working properly because the system cannot load the drivers.

On Win7, it has also installed SP1. I don't see why drivers are not loaded correctly. Does anyone have an idea on what could be the problem?

    Thanks, Mateja

    Hello

The Satellite L850 - 1 hr is equipped with a graphics chip from ATI Radeon HD 7670 M
I guess that the ATI driver is not installed correctly.

On the page of the driver Toshiba UE especially in Satellite L850 PSKG8E area, I couldn't find the Win 7 driver download.
But I checked the drivers available for all series of L850 and I found the AMD display drivers.

You should do this too. Choose the series of satellites L850 (short model No. Select all) in the driver download the form and you will get all the available drivers for Win 7 and Win 8
AMD display drivers should be included too.,.

  • Satellite A300-211 - what is Win 7 driver installation order

    Hello!

    I have a Toshiba satellite a300 211 model (PSAGCE).
I want to do a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit) and I wanted to ask if there is a * installation order * for drivers for laptop (which goes first, second etc) after the Installation of Windows.

    Thank you!

    Hello

There is no special Mount for Win 7 command.
You simply start with the common drivers such as graphics card, LAN, WLan, touchpad etc.
Then, you must install the utilities and first of all, you should start by VAP (value added package)

    Cheers mate

  • Satellite L500-126: Win7 upgrade - I can re-activateit after a new installation?

I upgraded my Vista OEM Windows 7 successfully yesterday.
What happens if in the future, I need to reinstall the system?
Can I reactivate Windows 7 after installation of the new?

PS my Vista OEM is the version 64 bit and my win 7 is the ultimate 64-bit upgrade version

    THX

I hope I understand your right to question so here is what I know about it:
When you upgrade original Vista preinstalled you do not need to activate Win7, but if you clean Win7 installation then you must activate the preinstalled version.

With other words to have free Win7 of activations, you must install Vista first using Toshiba DVD recovery and then he move to Win7.

  • Need drivers for my Satellite L850-B148 and recovery CD

Where can I get a recovery cd and drivers for my Toshiba Satellite L850 B148?

Recently, I had my motherboard and HARD drive replaced, and the freshly installed win7. But unfortunately, I couldn't find the CD that came with the laptop. Can you help me?

Since long time computers laptops are delivered without installation of recovery disc and the laptop owner should create only using preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. It is described in the document s user manuals. In other words, your laptop was delivered without installation disc.

In any case, the short answer to your questions:
    > Where can I get a recovery...
Original recovery disk, you can order on - https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
This page is for all models of the EMEA and I hope model laptop computer yoiur belongs there. Check it out please.

  • Satellite L850-161 won't recovery disk boot

When I got the laptop in 2012 I created 4 recovery disks, but since I had my HARD drive replaced in my SATELLITE L850-161 there the partition recovery with nothing in it, but the laptop won't boot no drive either so I can format it but really need, any suggestions?

If you have 4 recovery disks be sure that start you the installation with disc number 1. After Exchange HARD drive, you should be able to use created of the recovery disks for recovery image installation.

    Another bootable disk starts correctly?

To be honest I don t understand how new HDDD holds a recovery partition that will be created if recovery image installation works.

Problem is that in such a situation you don t have a lot of options. In the worst case you can order the original disc of recovery for your machine.

  • Satellite L850: Windows 8 error - 'PC hit a problem... ". »

    Hello.

I bought a portable Satellite L850, used it for about 2 hours. Next time I booted up it, the error ""restart your PC on a problem and needs. " We are only collecting information, and then we will restart for you. (0% complete) "in a blue screen appeared.

He gave me two options using the F8 key, has nothing; He blinked only screen when I pressed the F8 key or any other key F for all that matters.

Changing the boot in the bios options, I was able to boot a Windows 7 DVD booteable, and to my surprise, I found that the hard drive had no partitions... at all (when it should be 2 maybe 3 partitions and a space law?).

Of course, I could not also burn the recovery DVDs because I could not go back to windows, and when I tried to boot from an overview of client Windows 8 DVD, the same error occurred, over and over again.

I now use the computer under Windows 7 I have installed, but I would definitely come back the origin of windows 8 copy supplied with the computer... or at least be able to maybe install another copy of Windows 8 of my own.

Somebody help me, I would really appreciate it.

Sorry if my English is not good enough, it isn't my mother tongue.

    Hello

I think that you have installed Win 7 on the HARD drive. Right?
This means that Win 8 is no longer available looks like you couldn't create the recovery disk containing 8 win too so I don't see an option for you allow to win 8:
You must order the disk recovery from here:
    http://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

But a question remains open: why the BSOD appeared?
It could be a problem of system or a hardware problem, but I can't say with certainty what's exactly wrong according to me, you will need to contact a service if the installation of Win 8 can not fix this
