Satellite L850D - gel in point 8.1 of Windows

I have problems with my L850D satellite.
The system will freeze for 30 seconds to 5 minutes until she retrieves or restarts (reboots about 10% of the time).

This system is originally shipped with windows 8. System Restore solved the problem, but when windows 8.1 upgrade has been reinstalled the problem returns. I tried to update all the drivers, but have been unable to find a solution.

The problem does not occur during the game or during the active movie playback but will occur if a movie is paused. It most frequently occurs when you use writing software or web browsers (tried Firefox, IE and Chrome with similar results).

Any help would be appreciated.
Restore did not improve the problem once 8.1 has been reinstalled, so I don't know what to try next.

Hello

Before you begin to discuss your problem, I would like to know if you have updated your operating system following the instructions on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/

    Nothing!

    Any ideas.

Certainly looks like a malfunction of the equipment.
The question is: what part is affected.

From my point of view of a few you have just one option:
You can check the RAM modules, the modules are easy to remove and can be checked easily.

Other parties as the CPU, motherboard or GPU can be controlled easily... the portable professional engineer would be able to carry out these controls to hardware diagnosis because to do a few special tools and software is necessary.

  • Satellite L850D: Black screen - no boot, no post OFFICE, no external display

I tried every remedy known that I could find on the internet for this problem, apart from try to reflow the double graphics chips that are on this machine, which in my mind is a Toshiba design flaw as the heat sink covers only one of the two graphics chips on this model of the Toshiba L850D , and it seems totally wrong because of transferrence of heat and the many problems that I met with the graphics chip overheating of other manufactureres, even if they have some heat sinks covering their graphics chips.

I studied the internet for well over a week and, so far, no one has given an answer to anyone who is / was or had this problem, which seems to relate to other models as well.

I found a thread of January 2014 detailing this particular issue, but there was no response provided to correct.
I don't know if this is allowed, but the relevant thread to this specific question is provided: -.

Model real that I have here is the Toshiba Satellite L850D, model PSKGEA-003001 number and card mother specific number H000052650 WKC - 51 revision 2.1 or 7054D2745F87.

These seem to be so hard to find (or maybe should be off) even on eBay, so wonder if it is a Toshiba FU that they no longer use Dual Graphics chips without a heatsink on the two?

Have found the same style advice on eBay, being a WKC29 H000051780 and H000050830 WKC32, but all other seem to be back to an integrated graphics card or what appears to be the embedded processor?

Marketing I tried without HDD, changed the existing RAM, switched slots, out of ODD, removed RAM and got the beep codes saying ' Hey? Where is the RAM? ', but nothing... External monitor does not work, said only: "check video cable".

This all started when the only key that worked once a young user (their son) has decided to remove the files from the laptop of his deceased father and the laptop wouldn't start, which was due to a too many deletions, which creates a file system error.

When I got the machine to fix, the only key that cost labor was F2 for BIOS (due to disk problems HARD o/s)... F8 safe mode does not work, so I changed the BIOS to ODD as the first start, but again, it went straight to the error of loading of the operating system (due to HARD drive problems).

Hirens Boot CD loads tried, but failed, along withr than any other CD/DVD placed in the ODD (which also failed even before I tried to change the BIOS settings).
Except for the replacement of the motherboard, I am totally confused, but at this point in time, I can't even check if HDD fires up on top of the replacement, when the mother less expensive I can get is around $300 - $ 350.

Has anyone found the answer to this challenge that other users have successfully?
Seems a waste if it's just a chip.

Have also tried remove BIOS/CMOS Battery and left for a day or two (or more), but no change.
Would appreciate any help you can provide.

    Appreciate any help.
    Thank you
    Daryl

    Hi Daryl,

The problem described (no boot, no post) can happen to any portable computer because this problem can be caused by faulty RAM or motherboard.

I guess in most cases, the motherboard is perhaps the troublemaker if replacement RAM has not helped get the laptop running.

But I guess that the card mother isn t the best replacement option in the case where the mandate of isn t valid because the new part is very expensive and I guess that it s not worth replacing.

But of course it s your own decision

  • Satellite L850D - 126 USB 3 driver needed

    Hey there,

I got this Satellite L850D-126 to solve this problem, He installled a new HARD drive and I was wondering why the system is not starting more. I installed a brand new system, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and now I am trying to install necessary drivers. But I can't find the right driver for two 3-USB Ports on the right side.

The hardware manager told me that the ports are unknown devices, automatic driversearch tool by AMD is not help. I found a USB driver, called TCA0081300A. But during the installation process, it keeps teling me that I don't have the right equipment.

Perhaps anyonee could point me the right direction or give me a link to the correct driver?

  • Satellite L850D - 12 p - the rider on the own BIOS password

    Hi all.

I was given a laptop by a parent and I would use it but for the moment can not.

To be honest, the reason that this has been given to me was that there is a password that they have forgotten and even mentioned that the laptop is mine, but I have to have the password removed the bios boot somehow.

I've seen many mentions of the B500 rider in Google but I can not find these on this laptop. No, unless they are hidden pretty well.

There are at least under the removable cover only, memory, CMOS battery and HARD drive.

I had the battery, HDD, RAM and portable removed and left alone for a week. This resulted in nothing.

Is - this laptop has a clear CMOS jumper at all? Anyone know what is her name?

    Laptop model is by Satellite L850D - 12 p.

    Thank you very much.

    Albert

    Hi Albert

Please don't get me wrong, but we cannot start such things on the public forum of Toshiba.
BIOS password is very important security feature. As far as I know Toshiba uses several techniques for BIOS password removal. One that is used on your computer does not for me so I can't help you with this.

Point is that many users protect machines clean and backed up data with this password. When we are discussing here on this subject and maybe offer detailed how do to remove the BIOS password each laptop stolen could be unlocked.

BIOS password removal just contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

  • Satellite L850D - how to recover Windows 8?

    Hello guys.

I had virus problems with my Toshiba Satellite L850D and decided to restore the factory settings.

During the recovery, it crashed while I held the power button and when I started it again, it seemed that windows 8 had been removed.

I took the laptop to a local computer repair company that could not recover my windows 8 and windows 7 installed on it.

I paid around £80 extra when you purchase the laptop for windows 8 already installed on it and I was just wondering if there was anyway to get it back?

    Thanks for the help

If you have not created recovery disks in the past, then you have no choice as to the order of these discs from here: http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Satellite L850D/00312 - Center catalyst / graphic properties open used

Had to do a new installation of windows 7 disc HARD completely dead.

Drivers installed and everything is ok in Device Manager but the custom of graphic properties open, continues to say stopped working.

Please tell me what I need to do?

install the drivers in a specific order? what order? I have to start over and reinstall windows 7?

    Thank you

To be honest, Satellite L850D/00312 unknown to me but I know to get the ATI/AMD display driver works, no special order of installation is necessary.

Perhaps you should simply uninstall the graphics ATI system driver and after reboot the new notebook, you must install the package of graphics driver once more.

In my opinion this simple procedure should help you to make it work.

  • Satellite L850D-11N - HDMI does not work

    Hello

After that I bought my laptop Satellite L850D-11N someday that hdmi no longer working. I have already send to Toshiba and said would be a software problem and to fix the will charge more than 80 euros. The laptop is always guaranteed.
I installed Windows 7 Edition Home Premium and I also did the recovery, but nothing has worked.
Also all updates and latest graphics driver are made.

Maybe someone has an idea or can help me solve the problem?

    Kind regards

    Rainer

    Hello

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here. What I can say about it, is that you should test the functionality with the factory settings. With other words install the original version of OS that you got with your machine.

Test it with a different HDMI cable.
When you say that it doesn't work anymore, what do you mean exactly?
You use your laptop with your TV?

Usually when connected TV should be detected automatically and using the FN key combination you should be able to switch between the desk and TV. Of course, you must turn on the HDMI port on the TV.

  • Need drivers for Satellite L850D-12 q Win7

I am looking for win 7 drivers (32 bit) by Satellite L850D-12 q please

I ve checked Toshiba download and of course your laptop model page is not supported for Win7. Only drivers for Win8 are available.

What can you do now? Now, it is quite problematic. You can try to use the drivers provided for older models of laptop computers with similar hardware architecture, but it won't be easy to get everything working perfectly.
    It really complicated situation.
I put t had time to search every single driver because the exact hardware configuration is unknown to me.

  • Satellite L850D - 12 p, requesting a password

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L850D - 12 p running Windows 8.1.When I turn the machine I immediately get a blue screen asking for a password. I have not configured this feature and was working ok before the problem.

So, I have of course no password and if I put any text and or numbers in the box (max 10) then press on enter more than twice the machine stops.

    The bed "CHECK ERROR!" message
Anyone has any ideas on this? We tried different '' correction '' including two visits of local computer technicians.
True leader is only because it is a kind of bios problem, it seems that it is the bios that asks for the password.

    Any help much appreciated.
    Best regards, Iain

    Hello

If I understand you just your machine is locked with BIOS password. As much as I know BIOS cannot be locked on it of own.
In any case, BIOS password can be removed by Toshiba only authorized provider service. There are several different methods for the removal of BIOS and they know how it should be removed on your L850D satellite.

Contact the closest Toshiba ASP and ask for help. Addresses and phone numbers, you can find on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/

  • Satellite A100 good question - point yellow question mark in Device Manager

I have a Satellite A100, model PSAANC - 3605C. I reloaded Windows XP Professional on this subject recently, and now I am unable to get any sound (it worked before reloading). If I choose Start, accessories, entertainment, Volume, it tells me that there is no active mixers available. I tried to reload the chipset and different audio drivers, including the UAA driver, still no luck.

In addition, in my device manager I have a PCI device that shows as not available (point), and I'm unable to load a driver for him. What Miss me? How can I get my sound back?

    Kinderfolk

    > I recently rebooted Windows XP Professional on this topic, and now I am unable to get any sound (it worked before reloading)

Hey mate I got exactly the same problem after installing Win XP.
    I could solve it.

I updated Windows XP to the State. I installed SP3 because this package contains the necessary corrective measures.

Important: The SP3 must be installed before the sound driver!
If you have installed the audio driver, you must first remove it! This can be done in Device Manager

I did it and it worked.
