Satellite M30X: Cannot add i386 Windows components

Hi guys

I'm having a problem with my Satellite M30X laptop because it does not read in folder i386 to the hard drive, when I try to add Windows components. I only got a recovery DVD with my PC, so I can't try to use a Windows XP Edition family normal drive, as I do not have.

It might be worth mentioning that I've updated the hard drive in my laptop, using some HDD cloning software called Paragon Drive Backup Personal 8.

It has some impact, in order to cause the problem I am experiencing?

Hello

On the restore CD, you will find only the image files. It s CD not similar as an original CD of Windows.
To my knowledge you always the original Windows CD if you want to install all additional Windows that were not installed on the HARD drive components.
So I assume that the components are not placed in the folder i386 therefore, you cannot use it.

  • I can't find add/remove Windows components

Hello im trying to find the parameters (or file) for the universal plug an Interface Play (UPnP) anyone know where I can find this file and how to get there?

    Thank you for your time

UPnP has changed its name to Vista and really did not all other parameters only on or off.  It also works different in Vista than XP.  It is practically necessary only for ICS and thus more/stop toured.  Other changes to port settings that were once controlled by uPnP must now be done through the router or Windows Firewall.  See the following:http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/02/12/turn-on-and-enable-upnp-or-network-discovery-in-windows-vista/.  The following thread can also shed light on the situation:http://help.wugnet.com/vista/UPnP-Framework-Vista-ftopict109931.html.

To answer the other question, add /' remove Windows components.

Turning on or turning on components Vista Windows (from http://www.real-knowledge.com/vistacomponents.htm):

    1. Click the Start button located in the lower left corner of the Windows Vista desktop.
    2. Then click on Control Panel.
    3. In the Control Panel, click programs.
    4. Now click on Windows to enable or disable features to show all the features.
    5. To activate a feature of Windows Vista, select the check box next to the feature.
    6. To disable a Windows Vista feature, clear the check box next to the feature.
    7. Now click on the button OK to have Windows Vista save and apply your changes.
    8. Then, close the Panel open windows to return to your Windows session.
    9. Depending on what features you turned on or off, Windows may ask you to reboot.

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite M30X and the new Windows Vista

    Hello!

I have the new windows Vista Business installed on my laptop Satellite M30x!
Now I have a problem with my SD card reader... sometimes I noticed that if I put an SD card in, but most of the time, nothing happens. So, there is no any drivers or firmware to date.
I don't know what I'll do because there are not too all the compatible drivers for my digital camera...
Of this, I just want my SD card reader is probably running on vista!
Can someone help me please? It would be great!

    Nice greetings
    Markus

    Hello

I guess you need a driver for Vista compatible cardbus.
I noticed that Toshiba provides the Vista driver not for all Toshiba laptops.
Right now the Vista drivers are provided only for several series of laptops.

I got this Toshiba document on the support home page, and it seems that satellite M30X is not listed in the Microsoft Windows Vista support driver index ;(

  • Satellite M30x: Cannot install the VAP - ID-ERR-NOTINSTALLTVALTZ

    Hello

I have a little problem with my satellite M30x and Vista system. I need to change the cooling method to slow down the CPU fan, like I did in WinXP using Toshiba Power Saver.
Unfortunately, the utility seems to be available for Vista.

I tried to look for a solution that might be Toshiba precious package added. It is supposed to add the change of method option in Vista power settings, but I can't install the program - ends with an error "ID-ERR-NOTINSTALLTVALTZ-MESSAGE."

General Council is an update of the bios, but the latest version I found - 1.90, video ATI - is already installed.

Please, is it possible to get rid of the noisy fan without downgrading the OS?

    Thank you very much.

I wonder where you found the VAP (value added Package) for this model of laptop.

I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and found some drivers for 32 bit in archiving Visa
    But no. VAP!

That's why I have only one explanation why this error occurs; you have tried to install this software that is NOT compatible with satellite M30X!

  • Cannot add Contacts Windows Live Mail rule

I'm trying to implement the rules of e-mail in Windows Live Mail on Windows 7 computer. I would first of all a folder to retrieve messages from all my Contacts (i.e. real people) and another to retrieve messages from organizations, I am interested in / attached to but whose email I have to see every day.

Have implemented a rule, I cannot add Contacts, even if it seems that I should be able to. Specifically, I'm trying to set up a rule to sort mail "when the line contains people". In the box "Select individuals", the statement is to "enter one name at a time and click Add, or select the names of your Windows Live Contacts" HOWEVER, we don't know don't not how to select the names of the Contacts. When I click on the Contacts button, I just get a list of Contacts but can't copy and add names to the mailbox rules.

I'm not typing one by one. I need help.

    Thank you.

While in the message rule, click the Contacts button and then double-click a Contact , and click Add. That should add to the rule.

  • Satellite L40 - cannot read with Windows XP SDHC cards?

    Hello

last year, I bought a Satellite L40 series and a Windows Vista has been installed on it. I found that everything worked properly.

Since then, I found that Windows Vista is slower than XP, I upgraded to Windows XP and I installed all the drivers manually. Everything works fine until I found that I can read only SD card with the Ricoh card reader on my laptop. With Windows Vista, he could read SD and SDHC.

Like all of my files saved to the SDHC, I really want to solve this issue.

I detected on the computer that is my card reader equipment:

Ricoh Memory Stick Host controller (1.0.2.5)
    Ricoh MMC Host COntroller (1.0.0.9)
    Ricoh XD-Picture Card Host Controller (1.00.02.08 / 6.0.1.13)

    The questions are:
    1. the drive to read SDHC card with the Windows XP platform?
    2. If Yes, what should I do with it? Maybe I need to install a new driver? (If Yes, where can I find it?)

Thank you for your concern. I'm really happy if you can help me solve this issue.

    Best regards
    Jenny

    Hello

You may notice yellow exclamation in Device Manager?

Normally, the Satellite L40 can read SDHC cards up to 8 GB so my question is have you tried different brands of SDHC cards?
I have good experiences with Kingston and SanDisk cards.

In addition, you should check the Web from Toshiba site for an update of the card reader:

  • Satellite A50 - cannot log into windows

Hey guys, i struggled to connect to windows. When I turn on my laptop, the toshiba start screen appears and then after that it says: "Please select the operating system to start."
There are 2 options to restore Windows xp home edition and windows xp home edition. It doesn't matter which option to choose, after that I entered just laptop restarting and reappears on the toshiba start screen.

    What can I do?

    Hello

This looks like a Windows Startup Manager.
I assume that you have installed, or you have tried to install a second Windows operating system or / and you've created a partition.
    Am I wrong?

Well, generally the unit should start after choosing one of the options. If this doesn t start then try to start in safe mode.
Then start the system properties. This option you will find in the control panel.
Choose the Advanced tab in the system properties. Then in the startup and recovery section, press the set button.
Then press the button change. This function allows you to modify the boot.ini file.

Check if you see the two lines like this:
    "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional "/ fastdetect/noexecute = OptIn

Well, you need to delete a line and save the file. This line is responsible for the choice between drunks at the beginning.

If this procedure doesn't help, well, in my opinion, the new installation of windows is required.

  • Satellite M30X windows 2000 installation problem

I noticed ribooth has also posted a message with the same problem... but I haven't seen a real answer. The problem: if I try to install Windows 2000 Professional (including SP2) on my satellite M30X-130. The windows 2000 Setup program crashes with a "page in a no fault paged area" in acpi.sys just at the moment where the status in the status bar has been changed from windows 2000. If I press F7 during startup, acpi support is disabled and no page error occurs but the windows 2000 installation hangs on "the first screen" where you should be able to start, stop and? installation. There is no additional hardware installed and I'm unable to partition and format the HD with W2k. If I do it with win98 and create a FAT32 partition and try to install w2k on it I get the same ' page in a no fault paged area "acpi.sys error. Any suggestions to fix this?

  • Errors when I try to use the WLAN on Satellite M30X

Hi, I have trouble with my WIFI.

I use a Satellite M30X 124, running on Windows XP. I installed a WLAN router.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Two different errors: the system starts, but fails when obtaining the IP address. Sometimes the WLAN stops after 10 minutes or so, normally if I don't use the Internet.

Looking for the reason why, I was looking for available wireless networks. Normally responses from WINDOWS, it cannot detect a WLAN, because another program uses WIFI and the router.
Is there a conflict between Microsoft Windows and TOSHIBA ConfigFree? How conflicts can be solved?

    Thanks for any help
    Christoph

    Hello Christoph

As a first step, I would like to clarify something. ConfigFree tool is fairly old Toshiba designed tool and works very well with Windows XP Home edition operating system. This tool is installed on, I believe, all models of Toshiba laptops. Just this argument says that if often installed and tested tool cannot be responsible for your WLAN problem.

In my opinion, there is a problem with the WLAN settings.
