Satellite M60 question - needs repair

Hello everyone.

suit in May 2006, I offered a Satellite M60, 17 "(pour 1500 euros)."
3 months ago (features) lines appeared on my TFT.

Toshiba made the repair that cost of 865 euros. Today, my laptop (laptop) does light up no more.
We are announcing that the simple card must change from the estimate: 570 euros.

Estimate I refuses, naturally. I'm with a portable "beautiful", which is only 2 years old.
ASP want to fix it to his office. What can I please.

Thank you very much for your answer.
Lydia (from Nantes in France)

Hi Lydia

It s a sad story and a little a bit difficult to understand, however, it resembles a part material is defect and a replacement is needed.
If your warranty is valid then a repair must be performed free of charge
If you have registered your laptop on the Toshiba page then a guarantee must be valid for 2 years. If you haven t registered the laptop on the Toshiba page then your warranty is valid for one year only.

It seems that your warranty has expired and you will pay for the repair
Unfortunately, but I don't see any other solution

Best regards and greetings to France

    Hello

I completely agree with Akuma. Windows 7 supports and include clean driver CD/DVD from Microsoft. If the optical CD/DVD drive should be automatically recognized by Win7.

You see the ODD in Device Manager?
If there is a yellow exclamation point, remove the ODD of Device Manager, and then restart the device after restarting again the laptop must find new device and should recognize this.

The point is to use Rams compatible and not faster. If speed of the FSB 533 MHz is there is no sense to use faster RAM.
"So we are going to discuss here on the best solution for you;).

Compatible 1 GB of RAM for your Satellite M60 is with PA3411U-1M1G part number.

    Hello

I have the Satellite M60 I bought in france. The problem I encounter is that it is picking up every local router broadband (4 of them to date) with the exception of my BTvoyager2100 router.

I have a portable ibm English who picks up and uses the router bt with no problems.
I used the xp wireless search engine and the radar of toshiba, but it does not find my router.
does anyone have an idea what the problem is.

    Hello

The Satellite M60 I bought in Germany has not built in Bluetooth device.
The Bluetooth drivers are installed in any case, it's very confusing. I was looking on the same problem you do and finally found information that says:
Computers laptop Toshiba with built in Bluetooth devices have a label at the bottom of the laptop with the Bluetooth brand label on it.
On my M60 is no such label.
So I think that the M60 was not built in a Bluetooth device.
    In addition:
Bluetooth is not listed in the technical specifications of the M60.

  • Need new motherboard for my Satellite M60

    Hello

My Satellite M60-104 needs his replacement motherboard.

Does anyone know if I need to find a motherboard for the exact model number or other motherboards M60 will work? I am struggling to find the exact model number card mother PSM60E-00s02EAV.

    Hello

It seems that all Satellite M60 have the same hardware platform and you can use another M60 laptop motherboard.

    For example:
Satellite M70 comes with two different material PSM70E and PSM71E platforms.
I googled a bit and all Satellite M60 I found are PSM60E models.

If you are looking for used card mother on eBay, there you will always find info on laptop where the motherboard has been placed in.

  • Satellite M60: Need a parallel port to connect the Iomega Zip drive

    Hi guys,.

I have a Satellite M60 and I want to transfer files from my Iomega Zip drive.
My laptop is not has a paraller port, so I bought a converter to operate, but there was no result.

Is anyone of you know how to solve the problem and finally reach my driver ZIP of my Satellite in order to transfer files?
    Do I need another converter?

If so, when is? Or do I have to buy a PCI card with paraller port?

    Any response will be appraciated

    thanx

    Hello

I've never used a converter USB / parallel but a USB-to-serial port converter and I had very bad experience of such pieces of witch.
AFAIK this adapters don't work properly.

Therefore, your suggestion is not bad to use the PCMCIA card with a parallel port.

Check first of all in your user manual what cards are compatible, then you can try to use this card.

I think it would be the best solution to connect your Iomega Zip drive to the M60 laptop.

I have a portable Satellite M60-166, which is powered by the PA1750-09 power adapter.
The end that plugs into the laptop is a bit faulty as it reload only in certain positions.
    I can't, unfortunately, accompanied.

Replaces the ENTIRE BLOCK the only possibility for the extraordinary charge of around £30?
    Thank you

Hmm, theoretically, you can replace the Witch of universal Charger AC adapter but this AC must support the same specifications as ampere, volt, watt values!

But believe me; You must use the adapter recommended by Toshiba due to the warranty policy. Maybe if you do NOT use the charger Toshiba and this 3rd sector adapter part may damage the motherboard specifications then the warranty does not cover the repair procedure.

Therefore, you are only on the safe using the specially designed original adapter side for your laptop!

  • Satellite M60-170: Question on partition Express Media Player

    Hello

I want to install Linux on a Satellite M60-170 (thus transforming part of NTFS partitions in other systems of files) without erasing/reformatting the Partition of Express built-in Media Player.

I don't see 2 Partitions using Partition Magic 8, predefined Microsoft (NTFS) 37 GB each on the hard drive of 80 GB.
I read on the forum that the Express Media Player is a T88 204 MB partition system.
How to see where this partition is located or do you know where it should be?

(Partition Magic reported an error right after the end of the 1st partition, sector 7815624; the 2nd NTFS(1st extended) begins at the 78156288 sector: I expect that the Express media Player is a 2nd primary partition located between 2 NTFS partitions, but I would be sure.)

    Thank you in advance,
    Bruno

    Hello

I m not 100% sure, but I think that the Media Express hidden partition is placed at the end of the hard drive.
I found information that the disk HARD should at least 150-200 MB of free space must be available.
This free space must be on the end of the HARD drive and there must be unallocated.
To get these free places on party products 3rd HARD drive must be used.

You should also consult this useful document on the Express Media Player installation.

  • Need drivers for Win7 for Satellite M60-159

I installed the operating system Windows 7 (32 bit) to my Satellite M60 PC - 159 with success. But I could not find windows 7 drivers for my computer. If you help with driver problem, I'll be happy.

    Concerning

This old notebook was designed for Windows XP Home edition and Toshiba doesn't support these old models of laptops for the new operating system.
You can be happy if you will get hardware components of basic as audio, display, LAN, WLAN works properly but all the other stuff can be problematic.

To be honest, you're wrong any problem with drivers. Problem is you are using wrong OS on this old laptop model.

Let Win7 search of available drivers.

    I'd appreciate any comments!

It is a very nice post.
Very powerful with a newer Intel-Pentium-M (Dothan), 760 processor 2.0 GHz.
The unit has an ATI MOBILITY RADEON X 700 128 MB. Memory NOT sheared!
Big HARD drive, I think that 100 GB. Wow! And a TruBrite discovers Wide 16:10 color TFT display.

  • Re: Question about extension RAM on Satellite M60

    * Extension of RAM *:
What type of memory should I buy if I want to prolong 512 MB to * 2 GB * or more for
    * Satellite M60 *-182 under Editon Windows XP with Service Pack 2 home
I mean: frequency, symbol, producer, etc. to work properly?
    oczkim

    Hello

your machine can be upgraded to a maximum capacity of 2 GB main memory, which means:

to extend the memory to the limit of what the machine is capable of, you have to put 2 x 1 GB DDR2-S0DIMM modules with a frequency of 533 Mhz into the two slots of your machine.

I propose the following brands: Toshiba, Kingston, OCZ

  • Re: Question about RAM on Satellite M60-135

    Good evening

SRY for my English in advance ;)

I intend to increase the RAM of my M60-135 Satellite. On the home page, I found two corresponding modules.
One is PA3411U-2M1G and the other is PA3411S-2M1G. The descriptions for the two modules are exactly the same (1024 MB (1 GB) memory PC2-) 4300 DDR2 (533 MHz).

Can someone tell what is the difference between them?

Thank you very much for your answers. :)

    Always it is that you should be able to use all modules of memory manufacturers of different modules that supports the specifications on the right;
The Satellite M60-135 supports the DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200-PIN SODIMM memory modules.

    Hello

On this path, it is not easy to say that this may be material. I assume that you have installed the operating system by using the CD version complete Microsoft WXP. Please see the instructions for Installations. It can be downloaded from the Toshiba site.

Here you can find all the drivers, tools and utilities listed in the order of good facilities. Check if you have forgotten some of them.
