Satellite M70-192: its not strong enough

Hey!

I have a little problem with my sound on Satellite M70 - 192 PM760, when I plug the cable jack instead of phones, and second shot (on the same cable) to the hi-fi unit the sound is not loud enough. The sound is 2 times more silent, then it should be.

My card its Realtek AC97 Audio v. 5.5 on my previous laptop, everything was ok and the sound is loud enough, so I conclude that something that something is wrong with the software or the sound card have some limitations. I have already downloaded all the latest drivers.

Help, please!

Hello

We're all ok. It is not a malfunction of the sound card or driver. I am sure that this problem occurs due to the settings in the "sound and audio devices" 99.9 percent.
This option you will find in the control panel.
Open sound and audio devices option and press the Advanced button.
You will find many controllers. You should check the controllers and replace it with the higher position.

Good bye

  • Satellite M70-192 - question of HARD drive replacement

    Hello...

It's just my first time to ask for help in this forum... and besides, in any forum on the whole wide net.
So, sorry if am don't do this right... that's...

My brother bought a laptop (Toshiba Satellite M70 - 192 psm71e-01k00rar) of the Kuwait around 2006. A few months ago we started hearing "noise noise deaf deaf" - ing sound inside the camera and the screen is just deleted (there was an error message that is encrypted but I wasn't able to note it). I was able to boot from the DVD or USB drive. So I thought that maybe the hard drive has been the only problem.

I put in a new HARD drive (a 320 GB western digital scorpio wd3200bevt) and started to reinstall the system (I forgot which of the 2 supplied Toshiba cd I inserted first - media cd or the windows xp CD-ROM) but in the middle of installing the keyboard area was so hot that I unplugged / stop the laptop immediately.

After that, the HARD drive has become invisible to any Linux or rescue CD or utility of HARD drive that I tried to boot from... (fortunately?) The said HDD vendor as the HARD wd scorpio drive + really + defective and they replaced...

    * now the questions: * I discovered that the rated current for the HARD drive (60 GB) provided originally for the Toshiba M70 is a little bigger than the new wd scorpio *(.55 amp) *. Could this be the reason why the 1st WD Scorpion got "fried"?
    Is it a SATA1 - SATA2 question?
How can I _properly_ replace/upgrade our laptop HARD drive?

Please note that before I bought the new HARD drive, I ve read somewhere in the "net I could use a disk sata2 on a sata1 controller, etc. + * pls help!" * +

Toshiba services are simply too expensive for me right now if will send it (cell phone) in a licensed shop. Why I'm in DIY mode that s. I don't think I can afford an another fried Scorpion!

    Thank you!
    yours,
    TAC

    > I discovered that the rated current for the HARD drive (60 GB) provided originally for the Toshiba M70 is a little bigger than the new wd Scorpion (.55 MPA). Could this be the reason why the 1st WD Scorpion got "fried"?

I don t think that a larger and faster HARD drive might be the reason for the higher internal temperature.
You said that you have heard and his strange "noise noise deaf deaf." Such sound could be created by the defective cooling module. A defective module could be responsible for the highest internal temperature

    > Is it a SATA1 - SATA2 question?
    Here's your second thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//message.jspa?MessageID=150272
You can see that the SATA2 is compatible to the bottom and the s SATA2 HARD drive would work with common controller SATA HDD.

    > How can I properly replace/upgrade our laptop HARD drive?
Replacing the HARD drive is not difficult. I see that you have already found the HARD drive Bay and bought a HARD drive.
In your case I recommend using the common SATA 2.5 HARD drive with 100 GB maybe 120 GB.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite M70-192: two questions on battery

    I bought a satellite M70-192 and have two question about it;
    1. when the battery is fully charged, I can leave the Ac adapter connected and power the computer on the sector or remove the battery to avoid overloading?
battery 2-How long should power the computer if it is fully charged? (Approximately)

    Hello

    1. you must not remove the battery. Your device is the latest standard and batteries cannot be overloaded. It is recommended to occasionally work with battery power and pay.
    2. it depends on the use of the laptop. Usually, you should be able to use about 2 hours.

  • Controller SATA or SATA2 in Satellite M70-192

    Hello!

Did anyone here know what sata version is used for satellite m70-192? the toshiba product specifications web page has no info about it (ie http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=EU&BV_UseBVCook = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 111925 #0).
    Thank you!

As far as I know the laptop supports the SATA HDD controller.
You can also check using a software of free hardware diagnosis like Everest home edition for example.

But SATA2 hard drives are compatible with SATA controller, so in both cases, it should work.

  • Satellite M70-340 battery not charging

I had a problem with a Toshiba Satellite M70 - 340 portable hard drive, but everything else worked perfectly, and it was possible to operate on battery power. So I sent it to a maintenance shop where they changed the hard drive and installed a fresh new copy of Windows XP. Once I got it I found that I am not able to turn it back on, except when it is connected to electricity and after a little or looking around, I found out that the battery is not.

In addition to this, when I plug first laptop for electricity while it is turned off, the yellow/orange battery LED lights only for like 3 seconds. And even if it is activated, the led is still off, and the the battery icon on the status bar indicates that the laptop works on AC and does not say that the battery charge, he repeats to me 1%.

I also tried leaving it plugged to AC while it is off, hoping he can recharge, but I bite the dust.

So what would cause the battery won't charge if from one day to another (and just by changing the HARD drive and install a fresh copy of windows XP), the battery has stopped working?

And I was just wondering is an update of the BIOS or your driver fix? I want to say a battery need some kind of driver or software to run?

    Thank you

    Hello Zaher

I have Satellite M70-159 and issue described is not known to me. If you are sure that this strange issue started after get it back you with 100% service I recommend you speak again with technicians.

Behavior described is not really normal. As much I know BIOS update or drivers have no influence on it and to me it sounds like a malfunction of the equipment.

BTW: remove the battery, connect the laptop to the power adapter and start Notepad. When the operating system starts correctly, wait a few minutes and put the battery in the laptop. Please let know us what happens when you do this.

I have a Satellite M70 and I have a Western Digital external hard drive.
Initially, it worked great, I was able to put my large collection of music, etc. on it and run a computer off to save space on my integrated HD.

But recently I had problems with XP not recognizing HD or be able to write in it. It appears in my computer, then disappear, often randomly when I write new files to it.
I reformatted the hard drive to NTFS as it ran originally as FAT32.

I updated my BIOS as well, but I'm out of ideas.

Anyone else had similar problems with XP?

    Thank you

Have you thought about external HARD drive failure?
Perhaps failure of HARD drive and, therefore, it cannot be recognized correctly.

    (Sorry for the bad English)
I had uninstalled Touch and launch program because it did not work properly. When I tried to install another time readings that it can be installed only on Toshiba computer.

    How to fix that?

    Hello

It will be interesting to know what version you are trying to install. Perhaps, you try to install the version for another model of Satellite. As far as I know there are two models of Satellite M70. The difference is the number of sub.model (PSM70E and PSM71E). Make sure you use the right side of a PSM71E.

  • Satellite M70-340: battery not charge when AC is branch

    Hello world

Well, my problem is that I just bought a Toshiba Satellite M70-340 and used only for 2 days, but I have problems with my battery.

The battery does not seem to load. When I plug in the charger, the battery indicator turns on but the windows loading indicator is constantly at 0%. When I unplug the charger after awhile the laptop immediately turns off.

I noticed today morning problem, but the incident in question just as I remember it's the charger fell yesterday from a distance of about 50cm in height on a floor tiled. I don't know if this could affect it or not.

The only changes that I made to the software are also updated Microsoft Windows & Office.

Kindly help me knowing the cause of the problem and the solution that he.

    Concerning

    HELLO Faiz,

If your laptop works when the power adapter is plugged it works correctly. The THST is that the battery does not load can indicate a problem with the battery or the electronics in the laptop. However, I would first check very carefully that the battery is correctly installed and that there is no insulating plastic part that prevents the battery contacts to connect properly.
If everything looks well then you laptop is covered by warranty Toshiba and I would say that your outlet or send it to your provider to be extracted.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite L670-112 - fan is strong enough

    Hello!

So, I started having problems with my fan and I'm not sure but I think since I've updated the BIOS to version 1.50.

My fan is strong enough, and my CPU temp is always about 45-50 °, what should be normal, but my fan is still about 70%, and it is a bit noisy. And it goes over 90% when I open a movie or just to watch a video on youtube and it never goes down, I put my latpop to sleep and wait a little and restart my fan is functioning normally (normally like 65-70%) again.

So I thought trying to downgrade the BIOS, it can solve the problem, but I can't find the old version of the BIOS anywhere (the dust is certainly not the cause of the problem that my laptop is only 2 weeks old)?

Oh and Yes, use of PC is about 5-10%, never higher than 35%, so it isn't really a reason for my fan work that fast. When I opened a 3D application, I know it's normal for a fan to run fast, but even when I close it continues to turn on 90 to 100%.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Material generally new and powerful equipment need better cooling then more old so I think that it of normal that you notice any fan activity.

In addition, you can adjust the fan control in Windows power management. Here you can choose between different modes and set the fan a bit. Maybe it helps

On BIOS downgrade: it is not possible. If you want an older version of the BIOS, please contact an authorized service provider.

I tried to install the driver ValueAddedPack for Vista, but there was no result.
I didn't find the latest driver for Satellite M100 VAP no option of (v1.2.28), but there are for the pilot to buttons spec

I hope a solution on the VFR pilot?

    Hello

As you probably n t know, Windows 7 is not supported for all series of laptops.
If your didn't find the VAP for Win 7 for M70 then that would mean that there is no available for this series Win 7 VAP
You can try the other PPV that appears for different series, but there is no guarantee that you will get all the M70 with Win 7 function
