  I m not a Satellite M70 owner but as far as I know this laptop comes with SATA drives. But you can check yourself if you remove the HARD drive and then you can see which interface it is.
  If you have a SATA interface, you can buy each HARD drive you want. On interface SATA there is no capacity limit.

  Normally you can install Windows 7 but it s not released yet. Theoretically, it should work but I'll wait until it's official market.

  With a new HARD disk, you use the Toshiba recovery disc too. Why not? It s not dependent on the HARD drive you have so just boot make up and follow the instructions on the screen.

  Anyway, the DVD region code is editable in the STRANGE properties.

  Simply by right-clicking on the CD/DVD drive, select the Hardware tab and select the CD/DVD drive properties! Then go to DVD region and select Kingdome United as new box and press OK.

  I think it's the same thing. As far as I know Satellite M70 was offered with two hardware configurations:
  -Satellite M70 with PSM70E part number and Intel graphics card
  -Satellite M70 with PSM71E part number and ATI graphic chip

  Your laptop must be identical to PSM70E so I m 99.9% sure it's the motherboard even if you can use it.

  I do a new install of XP on a Satellite M70. This page lists all the necessary drivers:

  Unfortunately, each zip file I download from that link is corrupt, when I try to open them I get the following error:

  "The compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted."

  This is the case for every ZIP listed in the link above. The Intel display driver which comes as an exe file is fine.
  I tried to redownloading the file several times, the site of NZ too. I tried native XP zip, jzip, 7zip and winrar tool.
  I tried Windows XP and 7, work and home. I'm sure that there is a problem with the archive itself.

  If there is someone from Toshiba here could they please have the fixed files or provide me with links to them?

  Have you noticed this problem with keyboard only when the temperature is raised to a higher level?

  To be honest, I have never experience this problem and I can't believe that a higher temperature of HARD drive could affect the functionality of keyboard

  However, maybe you should clean the grids and the cooling fans. The notebooks are clogged with dust and don t cooling modules work properly.
  Use a jet of compressed air which should help to remove dust, I think this should help to reduce the internal temperature.

  As much I know this model of laptop can't boot from USB CD/DVD drive and CD recovery.
  You can boot from the USB FDD drive and a bootable floppy drive but I doubt that this is not possible with a Toshiba restore disk.

  I think that you could use this recovery disk as part of internal ODD.

  AFAIK Equium M70 already use hard drives with Serial ATA interface. This means that you must buy a 2.5 HARD drive with this interface.
  For example, a 120 GB model should work!
