Satellite M70: Bios shows 1014 MB of memory instead of 1024 MB

I HAVE TOSHIBA, WITH 512 MB DDR2 RAM, M70
WEEK ago, I ADDED 512 DDR2 RAM (533 MHz)
THE PROBLEM IS ON THE BIOS IT SHOWS THAT I HAVE MEMORY RAM OF 1014

I THINK THAT IT SHOULD BE 1024 RAM
WHAT IS YOUR OPINION
Thank you

@ Muhannadfa: take advice from mOOni nothing wrong with your laptop. The graphics card takes a main part fo memory and that's why you'll notice a difference of 10 MB

@ mOOni: It s not 8 MB but 10Mo ;) 1024 1014 = 10 ;)

How can I change the graphics memory from 8 MB to 128 MB? I have tired to adjust it by the BIOS but cannot find it there!

As far as I know on laptops with Intel (shared memory) graphics card, it is not possible. It is controlled automatically. For more graphics memory, you must use more RAM.

    Hi guys

    First of all I must say that it s really strange question, but I've seen questions;

What OS you have and what version of BIOS have you tried?

    Driver page provides a BIOS for Toshiba Europe * Vista only * (* 5.20 - WIN *) and other BIOS is * NOT * compatible with Vista OS (* 1, 60 - WIN *)!

It would be interesting to know more details.

    Welcome them

  • Extension of the memory for Satellite M70 207

    Hello

I have the Satellite M70-207 with 512 MB of memory (DDR2 RAM) and I want to Add 1 GB of memory for this PC (total 1.5 GB).

Can I add another memory (RAM) to this PC?
    and how?

    Thank you

    Hi guys

I can confirm this info. You can certainly use a 1 GB module in a slot.
The laptop is able to manage 2 GB max memory (2 x 1024 MB)

As mentioned above the slit is placed at the bottom of the device and could be upgraded with modules like this memory: DDR2 400/533 1 GB (PA3411U-1M1G)

    Good bye

    Hello

Unfortunately you can not replace the CPU existing with a "new dual core CPU" because your system is not designed for dual-core cpu´s.
There are many arguments why not replace the cpu, the most important argument is that the dual core cpu mechanically and electrically fit on the motherboard.

So, if you want a faster machine then buy a new one because you won´t have additional options to update your computer.

    Sorry, but that's all :/

    See you soon

  • Satellite M70 - 159-> update bios-> DVD ROM missing

    Hello
    I have the Satellite M70-159, PSM71E
I made the big mistake, please help and suggestions are welcome.

    History:
I installed Windows XP home sp2
A few days ago I tried to update my hardware drivers (last attempt was a few years ago) and the BIOS too.
So, first of all, I decided to update the bios of 1.30 to 1.50
-bios150win has been downloaded and install completely and it works very well. But since then, that my laptop doesn't see DVD - ROM - it disappeared at all.
WindowsXP says - no CD/DVD-ROM in your stack of material, and I can't boot from bootable CD/DVD drive.

I tried to downgrade the BIOS to 1.30 but the f * ng tool shows me a message that I have more new bios and I do not need to downgrade.
Hey! Toshiba! Please, give me a chance! Just remove your Bios update a few lines of code! Do not check the version of the bios.

PPL! Please help. Because now I can't reinstall OS, I can't burn, I can't get my data, I can't do anything.

    Thank you
    MIMO

Thanks for the info, but could you please post how you solved this?

  • Satellite P100 - 324 BIOS reports less than real memory installed, why?

    I have a P100-324 Satellite which I installed 4 GB of memory.
    Memory is a Kingston KVR667D2S5 / 2G, so I installed 2 of them.
I've updated the BIOS, but still when I press F2 to access the configuration
I find that the less than 4 GB installed memory. It makes account
3070 MB. When using windows the systeminfo program reports 4096 MB RAM.
However, System properties, it shows 3.0 GB and that is because
It is 32-bit windows xp mce. I ran live fedora 7 x 64 and he reports only 3 GB as the bios.
Why? Is there a way to fix that.

  • How to adjust physical memory in Satellite M70-337?

    Hello

    I'm buying a memory upgrade for my Satellite M70 - 337.

However, I'm not sure how to adapt really.
I unscrewed the memory Panel and watched it not really knowing what to do.

All the tips, links to diagrams would also be very useful.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

First before you install or remove a module, turn off the computer with the closure of the option in windows. The laptop should t be in standby or hibernation, because you will lose data.
Some modules of memory can be physically installed but are not entirely compatible with the laptop. In this case the machine will issue a warning as 3 short beeps.

    Here's a short instruction end how the modules;
-Turn the laptop (don t forget to unplug all cables) and remove the battery.
-Remove the two screws holding the plug cover memory modules
-Slide your fingernail or a thin object under the lid and remove it
-Mount the fittings of modules in connectors from computer to a 45 degree angle, and press the modules taken care to ensure a good contact.
-Push the module down so it lies flat. Locks on each side will be lick into place to fix the modules.

But note; to do this, carefully and don't use any force!

    Good bye

It of not difficult to remove or Exchange the memory modules because you only check Chapter 8 and 9 of your owner's manual. In the user manual, you can find a detailed explanation how to do this with a few photos and what you need to the modules of RAM.

Satellite M70-173 - I forgot the BIOS password. What can or what should I do?
    Thanks for help or advice.
    kohorta

    HI Kohorta,

There are few things you can do if you have forgotten your BIOS password. The only effective way to reset it is to take the appliance to your nearest authorised Service partner who has the necessary equipment for re-flashing your BIOS chip. They generally must prove you your ship-owner of the laptop before it will change.

You can find various utilities listed on some websites and also some means to bypass the BIOS password, but they are absolutely not guaranteed to work on most modern laptops.

    Kind regards
