Satellite P10 792 turns off

Hello

my laptop (bought in October 2004) turns off after 5 or 10 minutes because it runs too hot.

If I place my laptop on blocks (5 cm) and place a fan of giant wind next to / under him, my laptop works perfectly.

So I guess there is a problem with the installation of refrigeration.

Also after 3 weeks, a USB connection was broken.
I brought my notebook where I bought it and they send forward to a Toshiba official repair service.

Now, I have to pay nearly 900 euros to fix.

I think that it is a warranty case!

I paid 1800 euros for her and not even a year later, I still pay to make it work again?

It's the kind of warranty given by Toshiba?
I thought Toshiba was a brand with a good customer service...? !

Certainly, the symptoms you describe indicate that your laptop is overheating. You will find a lot of posts on these forums on this topic. Briefly, you need to remove the dust that is wedged between the cooling fans and the heat sink. I would recommend a vacuum cleaner pipe placed on the aspiration air grills. Alternatively you can remove the heat sink and of clear debris manually (this would nullify your warranty however).

As for your comments on your USB port, I've also experienced this when both ports on my A30 broke. I was informed that it is treated as accidental damage and is therefore not covered by the warranty. I opted to buy a PCMCIA USB adapter card which was much cheaper than the cost of the repair.

    Random power thresholds are always a sign of overheating. All other problems occur a controlled stop or restart.

    It is likely that your laptop is an accumulation of dust and fluff partially block the heatsink from the CPU. You can try to remove it with an inner pipe of the vacumm cleaner pointed at the gates of suction air under your laptop. Do not try to remove it through the rear exit gates because that will make the problem worse.

    If this does not work, then you will need to remove the radiator to clean, but I hope this won't be necessary.

    If the AC adapter is plugged in to the computer some LEDS are usually on. For example the battery LED lights up green when it s fully charged.

    The problem is just a common user like me and you is not usually able to fix or to locate the fault. You certainly need a help of a technician with a lot more experience.

    Worked fine before, now won't start upward.
    I can not only see the TOSHIBA Logo no Bios, because the cooler clean cpu fan & I remove my Satellite P10 792 RAM without removing the battery.

    When I try to boot my laptop all I get is the blue power light coming on and the fan turns on 4 or 5 seconds and then nothing

    I tried remove the battery CMOS, will not always to start!

    Check the voltage of the AC adapter, if his less than 19volts gift, it could be defective.

    I don't understand why you're so angry. Visit the Toshiba download page and download all the drivers for Windows XP Home edition. If I remember well this laptop model is listed under the option ARCHIVE (type of product).

    My laptop Toshiba Satellite 2430-s255 turns off 5 minutes every time I play streaming video clips to web sites using Windows Media Player version 10.0. I have uninstall the version 10 and used version 9, but there is no difference. Computer has 512 meg of memory and 10 GB of additional space on the hard drive.

    There is no problem when I play DVD using the same software.

    Toshiba support has been telling me that cpu is working hard and it heats up because of this problem. I used the fan to circulate the air, but the computer still shuts off.

    Any graphic activity will tend to make your laptop run more hot and therefore sufficient cooling.

    Make sure that your airway through the CPU radiator is not clogged with dust and debris (a lot of discussions in this forum about this) and also ensure that there is sufficient air under your laptop knife get in the fan air vents.

    A friend Satellite Pro L650 having worked well until yesterday, all of a sudden turned itself off. Now, at startup, it lights up normally for about 10-15 seconds before turning off suddenly. Turned off, the DC in white/blue LED and the orange Power LED Flash on a broad set of intervals of approximately one second. This extinction happens if I leave Windows or press F2 to enter the BIOS setup.
