Satellite P100-219: can I use different drivers?

Hello

I have a kind of stupid/lame question, but I would like to know that for sure.
Can I use the drivers downloaded from the toshiba only site or can I use any other site (i.e. of intel.com; nvidia.com; whatever)?
I ask because I know almost nothing about the material used in laptops (is it modified or customized by toshiba/intel?).
Thanks in advance for answers

Kind regards
MIK

To my knowledge, Toshiba recommends to use only the drivers of Toshiba.
3rd party drivers, you can use at your own risk!

Can I use the file system fat32 instead of ntfs disk recovery system.

    Hello

Well, on the Toshiba Recovery CD you will find only the ghosts.
This ghost files contains image with all the files and data from HARD drive.
I guess that the image was made on NTFS.

I think it s not able to change the file system on the HARD disk without formatting or losing data on this HARD drive.
If you want to change the FAT32 file system, you must format the HDD to FAT32.

But I put t know why you want to do. It makes no sense to me.
In my opinion, the NTFS system is more powerful than FAT32

  • Can I use the drivers for model Satellite A100-012 to the model A100-599?

Hello. I wanted to know that the drivers of the model a100 012 can be used to model a100 599?

Configuration for both models is the same.

    Hello

I compared these two units, and it seems that the A100-012 is a part of the PSAA9E series and the A100-599 belongs to the PSAARE series.
So generally, these are two different notebooks and I m do not know if the drivers work.
But who knows sometimes laptops are delivered with the same hardware and maybe you are a lucky man and some unique drivers will run

I mean, are the drivers offered by Toshiba ok for XP as well as for XP x 64?
I'll be able to use the same programs, or I'm going to need some other versions?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

For the moment, Toshiba offers not all 64-bit drivers. :(

  • Satellite L350D - 12M - can I use another motherboard?

Y at - it other mothers I can use to replace the faulty one in this model of laptop it is very difficult to replace like for like

    Hi nobbler1,

Don t compare laptops equipped with desktop computers! Computer laptop parts are specific parts for a notebook series only and so that you can t take a motherboard of another model of laptop like A Satellite or Qosmio. They are different and will not fit.

I put t know why you need a new mainboard but contact service provider authorized in your country. There you can get a new mainboard.

In addition, you are right. It's not easy to swap the motherboard. It is delicate and you should remove many screws and parts.

  • Satellite P100-276 - can't reinstall Vista from external CD drive

Cannot install external CD drive Vista
    Options
    ? 15/03/2013 15:03

My Toshiba P100-276 Vista Home Premium crashed for the last time, so I bought a new hard drive.
Internal CD player had not worked for some time, but had happened before.
It would always work again when I reinstalled Vista.
    Not now, however.
So my pc - guy installed the new drive and tried to install Vista from my USB - CDRom-drive.
Which has resulted in these messages:

    and:

Googleing it, it turns out that you can solve this problem by changing the 'compatibility' mode in the bios, but not in MY bios.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB0402V30000R01NL.htm

Install a new CD player might settle it, but would be costly and complex at the same time.
I'm writing this using Ubuntu, who btw had no difficulties to install from the external drive.

    All solutions?

In the past, several people have reported the same problem.
Also, are you using the original recovery disk or the Microsoft installation disc?

The simplest solution is to buy the new optical disk drive. You can find it on eBay and it is cheap for this old machine. You can exchange it in 2 minutes, and everything will be OK again.

In the user s manuals document you can find a list of all compatible optical disk drives.
Satellite P100 is a fairly old machine, but if you use the original recovery disk it contains good SATA driver.

  • Satellite A205 S4797 - can not find the drivers for my player

I have recovery disks and the Windows Vista installation disc. When I try to install error meesage says that it cannot find the drivers for my player.
I tried scannong CD player and there are not 32-bit, 64-bit, all them have different drivers and if so where can I get one I need if not from the installation disc or the disc recovery of fab?

If you cannot use original Toshiba recovery DVD for the installation of the OS I can imagine there is a problem with the DVD itself (some missing file or scratches) but the installation of Microsoft Vista SHOULD work on this model of laptop.

If this doesn t work too there must be a problem with the HARD drive. Just if you want to install Windows XP Home edition, you need to load the SATA driver on startup, but Vista should work.

Can you please tell me what happen when you try to install Vista from the facilities of Microsoft Vista DVD?

  • Satellite P100-437: cannot find modem and drivers for sound card for XP

I can not find modem and audio drivers for windows XP. Help, please.
    Thanx

    Hello

Satellite P100 - 437 (PSPAGE) shipped with Vista. Am I wrong?
I think this is a reason why this series is not listed on the page of the Toshiba driver at the moment.

Have you tested the drivers from another P100 series? Some devices come with the same material specifications and possibly other drivers will run.

    Maybe an additional info about the card and the modem will help you;
It s a good Conexant chip and modem Conexant. Therefore you must find the Conexant audio drivers and driver Conexant modem software in the net.

  • Satego P100-10U - can only use 3 GB instead of 4 GB of RAM

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satego P100 Notebook 10U (Modell Nr.: PSPAME - 004002GR) and now I have done an upgrade of RAM of 2 GB of RAM to 4 GB of RAM. My problem is that my Windows 7 64-bit and my 64 bit Ubuntu, do not use the full 4 GB of RAM. The OSs show me that they are 4 GB inside, but he can already use the 3 GB. BIOS has been updated to v. 4.80 and nothing happened.

Please help me if it is possible in German. My English is not very good see you ;-).

    Thank you

    Björn

    Hey,.

How much RAM will be recognized from the BIOS? He sees the full capacity of 4 GB?

Theoretically, it might be possible that some memory is reserved and used for other hardware components like graphics card or something, but if the BIOS detects the whole capacity everything is ok.

    My laptop is Satellite A300-211

My question is can I use the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator program to burn CDs and DVDs next to the Windows image?

    Hi mate,

Unfortunately I have not found any information that would confirm that this drive is compatible.
But I found this Slim SelectBay DVD Multi drive: PA3231E-1DV1

    This site of Toshiba products:
    e http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/options_and_accessories_search_by_model.jsp?servic = 1 = us & selSeries & selFamily = 2327 & SelCategorie = 2319 & family = 2327 & product = 69238 selP

However, if you want to order that a 100% compatible and taken in charge by car then please request the Toshiba service in your country. There, you can order the CD.
