Satellite P100-437, Vista and Geforce Go 7900GS

Recently, I bought the laptop P100-437. It was very expensive and was bought for playing games.
Before buying, I watched if someone had problems with it and I can't find anything even on this forum so I decided to buy it.

It seemed like a good choice.
Unfortunately, after a few hours, when I'm lance 3d mark I noticed something is wrong.
Display driver was bad, so I tried to change it.

I only have a few days, until I ive this laptop back shop in Exchange for a few others. Probably not Toshiba and any Nvidia graphics card.

Laptop was purchased with Vista32bit.
Problem is low 3d performance caused by graphic slow downs almot every 4 s to which fps drop-down drastickly.

Thanks for your comments.

Sometimes it s really funny to read "probably not Toshiba and any Nvidia graphics card. About the manufacturer of the graphics card, you have no choices.
There are JUST Nvidia and ATI, and I promise you, that they have almost the same problems in the mobile sector.

Won´t resolve you whatever it is avoiding a brand, and it does not matter if I say Toshiba, Big Apple, Nvidia, ATI, etc...
Rather to deal with your problem and Don t cry around. Maybe your problem is easy to solve, and you just need the key to the resolution.

The first thing is, each manufacturer can say: it is a cell phone game. But my experience in the last years, wasn't that laptops just above $4000 are perhaps good for games, because
the technique of these machines above $ 4,000 is the same thing that in my office which is really top-of-the-cream, but costs only 1900-2400 dollars (including my screen 22 '')
I just want to show you what is really a dear. Don t be disappointed with your machine. You will be disappointed with EACH manufacturer, when you think that buy you
a laptop that is a heavy game machine. NO GO!
It is surely games that you can play, but don t expect too MUCH. And the other side is the drivers. Where you´ve have downloaded the drivers you mentioned?
Probably on the toshiba site. The people here in the forum are mostly download sites like omegadrivers (http://www.omegadrivers.net/) which are good for mobile gamers.

Then Vista... UH Oh, when I hear "I play games on vista", then everything in my brain begins to turn. When will be inadvertent DIG IT OUT! that Vista is EATING RESOURCES such as H * LL!
Please, before you start writing here, install XP on your machine and get lucky, because vista on this machine is not good. Not good performance and very stressful moments, when you try
to play some games and you notice "Hey, something is probably wrong".

OK, the third thing is: check what applications are running. Close as many useless and unnecessary applications as you can, because of delays on a computer system... maybe some software which is
everything slows down.
I Don t want to be shocking, but it makes me really frustrating to read comments like these, while people DON'T want TO use this thing in their head.

At the beginning I have speaked like you, but after awhile, I started to inform myself and now I can probably give you some answers.
So, lets give me some information and we will solve your problem together. :)

Many greetings

    Hello

Satellite P100 - 437 (PSPAGE) shipped with Vista. Am I wrong?
I think this is a reason why this series is not listed on the page of the Toshiba driver at the moment.

Have you tested the drivers from another P100 series? Some devices come with the same material specifications and possibly other drivers will run.

    Maybe an additional info about the card and the modem will help you;
It s a good Conexant chip and modem Conexant. Therefore you must find the Conexant audio drivers and driver Conexant modem software in the net.

Why it was a surprise? It is known fact that the defined recovery CD notebook on factory settings!

  • Vista 64 bit need drivers for Geforce Go 7900 gs for Satellite P100-437

    Hello

I just installed Vista 64 driver vista on the site is not recognized by windows and Nvidia does have a driver available on their site either. It's for a computer laptop satellite Toshiba P100-437, a running Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GS graphics card.

What should I do? Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

Toshiba does not provide any 64-bit drivers. for Vista or XP.

  • Stream video slowdown and going out of sync on Satellite P100 - 434 Vista

I have a Satellite P100-434 pre-loaded with Windows Vista and WinDVD. During playback of DVD video, the video stream slows and goes badly synchronized with audio after a short period of normal play.

The video then jumps and will be back in sync for a short time before going off again. I found references to this on a general search of the web with the only offer the solution of reloading with XP.

I confirmed that with Windows XP Home edition, the problem does not occur, and with Vista it always happens with PowerDVD v7 good than not as pronounced. I would like suggestions as to the cause and possible solutions.

Well, what to say seems the Vista itself or the drivers are responsible for this problem!
As you already suggested the use of the Win XP operating system would be simpler!

Anyway, the laptop uses the nVIDIA GeForce Go7600 FX card. Then first try to update the graphics driver and check a few improvements!
Try to use the drivers from the site omegadrivers.net

In addition I recommend you disable the acoustic silencer maybe it would help

  • Satellite P100 - DVD burner and reader of SD card not recognized by Vista

    Hello everyone,

I have improved my P100 of Xp to Vista and I can't make my DVD burner and my reder of SD (embeded to the laptop of course!) work.

I can read CDs or DVDs, but I can't burn a DVD.
My SD card reader in my device list but not appear in my browser!

Even more, a 'mass storage' appears as not porperly installed but I have no reference on which device refer to the. Not to mention, I tried several times to install the utilities on the site Web of Toshiba sd but it didn't change anything...

What laptop Satellite P100-xxx you have exactly?
The number of extensions and model number would be very useful for further study

Anyway. to get the card SD works in most cases you need to install the Flash Media driver
In addition, it would be very interesting to know what SD card do you use.

    With regard to the Vista DVD burning issue;
How have you tried to burn the DVD? Did you use special software to burn like Nero for example?
Have you used different DVDs from different manufacturers of DVD?

From my experience, it would be possible that the player manages all DVD. You try different DVD from different manufacturers. I had a good experience with TDKs

  • Displays swap when using double view on Satellite P100-437

    Hello

I use display drivers downloaded from the Toshiba site for a P100-437, geforce nvidia go 7900 gs (v. 94.37)
My setup is such that I have a LCD monitor plugged into the back of my laptop that I use as my main screen and screen of my laptop is used a secondary antibody two-way. In Control Panel, you can decide which monitor to have on the left / right but whenever I reboot it reset back to normal. That is, it comes around so I have to move my cursor to the right to go to my laptop on the left screen.

I was hoping that someone would have an easy solution for this. Thank you!

    Hello

I m not 100% sure, but I think that there is not much to do.
I wonder how you selected the external monitor as primary monitor on your laptop because I can remember the old notebooks with XP OS did not this feature and it was not possible to use the external monitor as primary.

But it seems that the new Vista operating system to provide this function.
However, in the Toshiba HWsetup utility, you will find the view tab.
There is a function called Power on screen this tab allows you to select the internal display or an external when the computer monitor starts.
Try to change it, and maybe it helps.

  • Satellite P100 - 347 (PSPA6) and Conexant audio problem in Windows 7 64 bit

He is a [old problem | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=175972#175972] which seems to have affected many people.

    Conexant HD Audio (hardware id: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_14F1 & DEV_5047 & SUBSYS_1179FF31 & REV_1000)

There has been no official driver published this work in Windows 7 64 bit. It works fine in 32-bit, windows 7, and using different drivers from other sources + partial + fix can be found.

    Using these drivers:

    [Audio 4.8.0.0 | http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/files_downloads/pspa1c/vista/Audio4.8.0.0.zip]
    [sp35683 | ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp35501-36000/sp35683.exe]

and some of the advice [here | http://laptopforums.toshiba.com/t5/Windows-7/Windows-7-64-bit-drivers-for-P100-P105-Users/m-p/67516], it is possible to get the proper functioning, but * only * when using the S/PDIF (HD) audio output. When the S/PDIF cable is removed the internal speakers make noise for a fraction of a second, then silence.

I tried everything and this issue has been around for months and months, but no perfect solution seems to exist. I was wondering if there is a way to update the drivers of the HD Audio Controller, integrated in Windows 7. Or maybe a hack that allows the internal speakers continue to work (they work for one second!)

Please, any help on this would be greatly appreciated

  • Port replicator does not work with Satellite P100-160 & Vista

I just bought a Toshiba duplicator (part number: PX1173U-1PRP) but it does not work with the o/s Vista pre-installed on my P100-160. Can someone tell me where to find the Vista drivers for this device?

It seems that the standard driver is not compatible with Vista and so you will need a new from the Toshiba page.
You must remove the old driver and then install the new version.

    Good luck

  • How to disable automatic recovery on Satellite P100-437

    Hi all.
I recently bought the P100-437. In general, I am happy with my laptop but there is a question I am trying to solve and unfortunately I can not.

When I put the laptop into hibernation and close the lid then when I opened the lid of the laptop automatically starts windows. It got me in trouble when I was going through some security checks in airports.

So, I'm looking for a way to stop this recovery automatically on opening the lid.

It is really important to do. Do you have any suggestions or the way in which this can be done?

    Kind regards

    G.

    Hello

I think that there is no possibility to help out you. When to put a computer into hibernation, then this is the only function that brings back the machine to life.
It probably put s implemented in BIOS and perhaps cannot be changed.
Then you can try to access the BIOS and look for an option that defines this whole thing put in hibernation, but I Don t think you will have a chance.

You will need to shut down your computer whenever if you don t want to have a few bad situations that you have told us.

    Welcome them

  • How to remove Satellite PSU44E U400 Vista and install Win XP

Because a large part of my specialized software is designed to work with XP pro, I need to remove my U400 of Vista Home Premium and install XP Pro. As others have found with other models Toshiba simply placing XP disc in the DVD drive results in "dreaded blue screen" with error 0X0000007B (0XF78D2524, etc) and correctly configured hard drive reviews / looking for the virus/run Chdsk/F to check corruption.

Change drive HARD BIOS from AHCI to compatibility mode allows to XP disk load and run as "Press ENTER to load XP" but pressing 'Enter' does nothing; other keys have no effect either and the only way I found is to press on the On / Off button. Re change from "AHCI" to "Compatibility" there are also a lot of comments on other users for suggesting that using compatibility mode makes it much slower than the AHCI mode disk access. However, despite searching the Web using Tosh HDD not registered model (MK3252GSX) I can't find a driver XP ATA to nLite XP before trying again.

Can someone tell me a procedure they used to remove Vista and replace it with XP Pro on you U400 PSU44E please?

    Hello

I have a U400 and I ve installed Win XP on my baby with no problems.

There are two options; either you'll assign compatible SATA mode (in BIOS), or you leave the option in AHCI mode and will include the SATA drivers that are part of the Intel Storage Manager.
Intel Storage Manager can be downloaded from the Toshiba page (you can find it in the category U400).

I managed to include the SATA drivers with nLite and everything worked as it should.
PS; Win XP should include min. SP2!
