Satellite P100: Intel Pro 1000 PL LAN card - firmware update

Hello!
Is it possible to get the update of firmware for Intel Pro 1000 PL LAN with Smart Deep Power Down function disabled card? I have a few problems running freebsd, and some people suggest that this is the problem.
See you soon,.
MIK

Hello

Sorry, but I think I put t understand you well.
Are you looking for an update of firmware from the LAN card or did you mean the LAN card drivers?
To my knowledge, there are only drivers for network card and I never heard of updates of firmware set apart on the CD/DVD drive.

In any case, on the Toshiba page, you will find different LAN drivers for different LAN cards. It depends on the model you own.
There are 3 different models of P100, so you must select one that suits.

  • The Intel Chipsets correspond to the requirement of Intel Pro/1000 driver for high performance?

OK, so I know that to get the minimum load on the CPU during acquisition GigE, I need to use a "Intel Pro/1000 Network card chipset".  However, often the manufacturers of network cards will indicate the reference number of the chipset like for example. Intel 82572GI.

Can someone help me by pointing me to a list of intel Ethernet for laptops and they fall in the Pro/1000 Group?  Or am I missing something?

Bluecheese, please confirm that I'm following your argument: on my PC, the file nigevk.inf contains:

  • NOR-IMAQdx Intel Pro/1000 driver support

The Readme of NOR-IMAQdx V3.4 document states that:

If you have a gigabit Intel Pro/1000 series NIC Ethernet (NIC), it is recommended to install the High Performance GigE Vision Driver. This will ensure optimized performance and minimal configuration.

Are all the Intel Pro/1000 series supported (GT - PCI, PT-PCIe) cards? Other series Intel cards are also supported. Is the Council of (chip 82574L) CT Intel Giga (PCIe) supported? What is the difference in performance if this driver is not installed?

    Hi John,.

To answer one of your questions, there are many benefits to using the driver of high performance when they are available:

    • Optimized for the data is copied as little as possible with the load low. Pure performance gains are difficult to quantify, because they depend on many conditions. In general, the more packets per second (throughput divided by the size of the packets) and several cameras used, the more the driver gains performance high performance.
    • Optimized for the use of GigE Vision (amount of allocations of memory buffer, frames, packets interrupt settings, etc.). You can change some of these settings in Intel (much more than other providers) drivers, but not all of them, and there is no additional configuration required when you use ours.
    • Works independently of firewall configuration
    • Return of lost or damaged data packets are processed at a level General much weaker with much less latency and fresh
    • Uses frames for GigE Vision only without affecting the rest of the network stack (which allows some jumbo frames on a systemic basis may cause some annoying problems of network)
    • In versions of Windows prior to Vista, several cameras connected to multiple network interfaces could not make good use of the automatic link-local-address. With our High-Performance driver that you can fill multiple ports into a single virtual device that allows you to increase your overall bandwidth as easily as a single port.

Now, regarding the interfaces are supported, we support most of the Pro/1000 series that are and have been widely used. In general, the only we can guarantee are those which is integrated in the maps that NEITHER sells because we can make our own validation on them. Because if this, our driver INF files are confined to specific chipsets that we validated internally. The best way to ensure compatibility would be to get the cards of NOR.

However, ff, you have a copy of IMAQdx installed, you can view the nigevk.inf file (typically in C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\NI - IMAQdx\Staging\NI GigE Vision) to see what PCI IDs are listed in the INF file. PCI IDs are the best I can advise because Intel labelling of products is not always clear what chipset and the revision, the card has on it.

82574L is listed in the INF of our driver currently high performance as PCI ID 0x10D3, so if you have this one even it * must * be supported. I recommend the GT line because 32-bit / 33 Mhz PCI doesn't have the bandwidth to support traffic GigE Vision.

    Hope this helps,

    Eric

  • Satellite A200 - Intel Pro Wireless 3945 fall

    Hello
I have a problem with my laptop Satellite A200 (with Vista Home Premium 32 bit) where the Intel Pro Wireless connection keeps itself turning off after several minutes or several hours of use.

In network connections, the wireless connection is shown as people with reduced mobility. When I try to enable it, it will say something like "Enable already ongoing attempt". And he's never coming back. However, wireless orange light is always on the cell phone all the time. The only way to reactivate the wireless connection, is to restart the system.

I know this is a very common problem, I see the same problem among other threads on this forum.

After a short search on Google, and I see that many other people have the same problem too, particularly with Dell laptops. Forum sites there 2 in particular, that have the most information on this topic, I found:

    http://www.vistaforums.com/Forum/Topic4198-45-1.aspx
    http://thevistaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=9834

These are the things that I tried to resolve this problem:
(I got all the drivers from the site http://www.toshiba.co.nz, that I got this laptop from NZ and the specific laptop model number is PSAFCA A200)

-Updated the BIOS with the latest version.
In fact, I think that updated the BIOS could be the cause of this problem wireless, or in part. Because a few months back, the laptop kept cutting itself no reason apparent, perhaps once or twice a week. So I've updated the BIOS, which actually fixed the random stops, but since then, I've known this wireless problem. Coincidence maybe.

-Upgrade to the latest driver for the wireless network.
I tried a various number of drivers. Later off the coast of http://www.toshiba.co.nz, http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/, http://www.intel.com. None of them have worked.
For the moment, I use the older driver comes preinstalled with Vista.
Intel Pro wireless 3945ABG (Microsoft) was sometimes since 2006. And surprisingly, this one works best. Drop-outs are not as frequent as more recent drivers, but the problem still happens.
With this new drivers (dated from 2007), I find that it turns off several times a day. Once or twice an hour.
With the former, once every two hours.
That's what I feel, it is probably coincidence.

-Update of Windows Vista with service pack 1.

-Updated the firmware on my router. It is a DLink G604T. However, I doubt that it is one router problem, my other laptop running fine without any abandonment wireless.

    -Power WLAN disabled economic option.
Under power settings, select the setting of maximum performance.

-Set lowest roaming aggressiveness, even tried with highest.

-On the "Power Management" tab in the properties for Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG Network connection, tried to activate and deactivate the option "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

    -Done a full virus/spyware scan.

-Uninstalled the software Toshiba Wireless Zero Configuration.

I think I've tried just about everything that I can, so I'm here pretty much as a last resort.
I hope someone can help me solve this problem.
It was so annoying since many months now! It's not fun to have to restart the laptop all the time.

    Thank you.

I see that you have tired most of the things that I would say too
You said that WLan works better using the old driver Wlan MS if it s really a WLan driver problem

    But what said
I searched a bit in the MS knowledge base and found this article:
+ Several problems occur on a Windows Vista-based computer when you work in a wireless network environment.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB; EN-US; 932063

    Check it out.

But a friend of mine had a similar problem of Wlan and nothing helped, he did a update BIOS, set the Wlan driver, etc.. nothing!

    Finlay, he changed WiFi channels.
He chose the other channel on the router and wireless network and since then the Wlan card works well...

Maybe it s worth a try!

Research in the internet, I found just 1 card graph similar to mine. But I don't know if it will work, because I read that the devices must be exactly the same as the original:

    c918 http://www.eBay.es/ITM/New-Toshiba-A000013050-NVIDIA-G73M-128MB-GeForce-Go-7600-Video-Graphics-Board-/360821279000?PT=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&Hash=item54029f & _uhb = 1

I asked the seller eBay on compatibility and his answer was: "Please contact Toshiba for the complete product compatibility." But Toshiba does not provide any support after the expiration of the warranty (in Spain).

Anyone replaced this graphics card? Do you think I should buy the graphics card of this ebay? Are there other solutions? (for example: replacing the entire motherboard...)

    Thanks a lot in advance.

I never had to replace a graphics card in a notebook, but I wouldn't buy any part if I m not 100% sure if it would be compatible with my laptop.

Is that SATELLITE P100-342 was equipped with a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 (name of code G73M) PCI Express x 16 (GDDR2 dedicated 256 GB RAM) graphics card.

The part on ebay supports 128 MB only and that's why I think that the two parties are not the same.
This might be the reason not to buy this piece.

  • Satellite P100-188 - cannot use the LAN driver listed on the download page

    Hello

I've recently changed this laptop Windows XP MCE. I got all the drivers out of the Toshiba download except the network card page. Both versions, it lists only containing an 'uninstaller '.

Does anyone have any ideas where I can get a driver to make this work?

    Kind regards

    Matt

Download the driver and extract the contents into a new folder created. Please enter the LAN card properties in Device Manager and choose the option to install the driver. Asked about the driver choose navigate to this new created folder and see what happens.

  • T61 - use Lenovo or Intel Pro/1000 Lan driver?

The last driver that Lenovo is wireframe display Intel 82566 MM NIC in the T61 is version 9.7.255.0 dated dated 05/03/2008.

The last driver that announces to the same Intel NETWORK card is version 9.12.17.0 dated dated 06/02/2008.

I guess the Intel, it's most recent based on version numbers, despite the older date, but I'm not sure.

Anyone using an Intel and confirm that she is most recent?

Thanks for the reply Herman57.  My son is having a similar problem where his T61 won't get an IP address when you wake up from sleep and he must either fix the connection or restart.  Have you installed the Intel drivers on top existing drivers, including Proset, by running dxsetup.exe?

  • Satellite M30 Intel Pro/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Version 1.1.6.0

    Hi all
After my laptop crashed during an internet session I got the message from MS analysis saying that the problem is in my adapter software (see topic) and that I should check INTEL. I visited the Intel site, and they offer three versions for download, but claim you must download the drivers directly from the site of the producer. So, I checked the Toshiba site, but there is no download for my portable version offers. BTW, I have not had problems with my connection Wireless for a year. I always download the INTEL driver form and if so, which? Any tips?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tony

Here me again. Of course there are drivers available for download on the Toshiba site for my laptop. I didn't simply tick the box with the operating system. Sorry for the wrong information. So, I guess I have to dowonload 1.60.47 W2AB version. Anything speak against it? Anyone have bad experience with the update?

    Hello
I bought a satellite M30 a week ago. I used the wirless lan a few times. Now I rebooted the computer after that the wireless network adapter no longer works. In the properties of the device, there is error code 10: impossible to activate the device.
I tried to uninstall the device and installing again, but it did not work.
    Do you have any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance

    Alberto

Hi, congratulations on your Satellite M30!

Cold machine. Well I'd keep it very simple. Redefine your laptop to factory settings (Simple recover using the CD or the DVD delivered).

If the won´t still card Wifi works, there will be a material damage on your laptop.

Please let the dealer take a look on your machine.

    Good bye
