Satellite P200 - Real Time Clock battery

When I turn on my Satellite P200-13Z, he sometimes tells me that the date and time settings are incorrect. I think it's due to RTC battery becoming discharged. Usually I run off the computer, so it should load up when I'm not with her.

Can anyone help?

Hi Michael

The CMOS battery the laptop must be connected to the power adapter for about 12 to 15 hours!
First the main battery may load and then the battery CMOS!
This procedure takes a little more time

Should check this out!

    Hello!

most of the time I am using my Toshiba satellite pro m30 without the battery with the energy of the power system. the battery is stored somewhere outside of the computer for a month the real time clock shows a bad time if the computer is started after a period of time.

I think my cmos battery is going to die soon.

someone has an idea, how this cmos battery can be changed by myself?

    Thank you
    Reinhard

    Hello Reinhard

I agree with you. It is time to replace the CMOS battery. It is not easy and the machine must be dismantled. If you are not familiar with the procedure for disassembly, it can be dangerous. A small mistake can result with damaging material.

If you want to do it alone, you do so at your own risk. Be sure to use the right battery. Maybe you won't believe, but if you use a battery hurt it could cause battery explosion, or other damage.

I'm not 100% sure, but the RTC battery must be placed on the left side near the touch pad. If you want to only please be very gently. The laptop parts are very sensitive.

  • Dell XPS L502x 5 beeps - the real time clock failure

    Hello.

I had a problem with my grade, first the hard drive was broken and I swapped the hard drive. Now in the new road, it was not possible to restart it. So I did a reset of the BIOS. Now, he is unable to restart and I get 5 beeps - that due to manual means 'Real Time Clock Failure'.

What is it?? And how to solve?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Nightyboy,

5 beep code indicates CMOS battery failure. Try to release the static power and check whether the system works. Follow the steps below.

Turn off the system; Remove the battery, power adapter and power cable. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain any power static excesses. In case the problem persists, you may need to replace the CMOS battery, you can refer to the operating manual using the link below to replace the CMOS battery.

  • Satellite P200 - 17 c PSPB6E - battery and charger delivers

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone can help.

I had my laptop Satellite P200 - 17 c PSPB6E for about 2 years. For the last 6 months the battery and the AC adapter have been gradually getting worse.

The adapter is now very loose and I need to hold it with one hand while using the laptop. The same battery with the AC charger in place does not increase (it shows 0% available plugged in, load). If the AC adapter slips, the laptop is dead and I need to recharge.

Essentially, it seems the only thing keeping the laptop on, is the adapter (which itself is very loose).

I need to know whether a battery or a problem with the AC adapter. I had only the laptop for a short period and would not have expected problems early.

    Thank you

    Baker

    Hello

In my opinion, that your laptop is quite old (2 years) and these things can happen, mate.

But I think you need new batteries and AC adapter or motherboard. If the battery doesn't charge with adapter connected the case is clear: the battery is faulty because she will not be charged.

Regarding the connection of the adapter problem AC/DC it's hard to say because theoretically, it could also be a problem with the socket on the motherboard. This is why you should ask a technician for laptop. The technician can tell you what the problem is.

    Welcome them

  • Real time clock RTC accuracy test

How do you verify the accuracy of the RTC?

This computer is new and has been placed in use on 20/09/2015.

    Time is controlled through www.time.is

He said that the time is always delayed if you use windows 7 Professional.

When the time settings are changed by updating, it will very frequently show exact time.

The CMOS RTC battery has been replaced with a new battery and has not changed.

An external flash drive has been used to download a utility and then Ubuntu was installed on the flash drive so that Ubuntu starts after a fresh boot.

There is no period of time with Ubuntu.  With Ubuntu, the time is coming.

With windows 7 Professional, the time varies and moves of 0.7 seconds to 1 minute or sometimes 1 minute and 30 seconds.

With Ubuntu, time progresses varies and moves of exact time to 0.9 seconds ahead of testing about 12 hours.

How did the two operating systems produce different results?  The one with the period of delay and the other with the time to follow?

What was/is the software that other messages make reference to test the accuracy of the RTC?  Was UEFI, or something else?  For this computer just to edge of diagnosis or UEFI tests have so far managed.

How do you check the Crystal in the motherboard?

How do you check the RTC chip in the motherboard?

  • Satellite P100 - time clock keeps changing

The clock on my Satellite P100 continues to change (running Win XP MCE) randomly during the day while it is running.

When I start the PC in the morning, clock's time similar to when I turned off the day before.

I use my PC in my office connected to the power supply. For the first months of ownership I left battery off the computer because I wanted to preserve his life. I don't want to run on battery and go through a process of charge-discharge throughout the day while I'm working. I was wondering if this could be the problem and now keep the main battery plugged all the time but the clock still continues to change.

The clock doesn't change by specific hours, but at some point almost randomly sometime before the correct time. Sometimes a few minutes, sometimes hours.

I installed and run all of the last anti-virus, spyware etc etc and nothing is detected.

Looks like my faulty CMOS/RTC battery?

This is my work computer and I can't afford to be without it for more than a day. I don't want to go back with all my data on HDD business.

Someone knows how it is easy to replace the RTC battery yourself (I know it will void the warranty)-I am an experienced PC "Builder" and fortunately can disassemble computers etc.

I hope that someone can offer some advice. Why Toshiba is not a help line that you can ask for help?

    Hello

Maybe it's not a RTC battery problem, but the problem of BIOS?

I found this Toshiba on a resource conflict real time clock in the L100 and P100 notebook Device Manager
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7301SU0005R01.htm

It is very interesting, if this resource conflict could have a bad influence on the time of windows.

  • Satellite P200 (PSPB6E) battery seems to flow quickly

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite P200 (PSPB6E) and the battery seems to flow quickly.

Anyone know of best set-up I use energy saving?

    Thank you

What is for you sink quickly? An hour or maybe two?
I have the Satellite P200D and if I use the laptop for writing and the Internet I can work for about 1 hour and 40 minutes. For me it's OK for this portable big with 17 inch screen.

I don't know what you're doing with your laptop, but running on battery power, you can use standby power option but brightness set to the next level. The original is too low.

  • "1 MHz" for the name of the source on the time loop does not work on LabVIEW Real-time 9.0

A Loopis Timed running as expected if a time source is manually chosen in the dialog box of configuration for "1 kHz" (first digit) and "1 MHz" (second digit). If the time Source name is set through the input of the channel "1 kHz", the loop is executed, too third figure). But if the input string is "1 MHz", the loop is not executed (last figure). The channel two are created by "create constant" on the entry of the loop to exclude typos. Is it possible to set the Source of a loop time timed through the input string to the real-time clock hard Mhz?

OK, I was a bit confused by the difference between the behavior of error...

Now, the question is quite clear. Aid for the timed loop provides the following regarding the Source of the calendar entry:

Specifies the name of the synchronization source to use to control the structure. The source of synchronization must be created using the create synchronization Source VI on the block diagram or selected in the dialog box Configure the timed loop .

So, I think that you have somewhere in your code a time Source.VI create if you pass "1 kHz" as the name. But you did not do this for your clock "MHz 1"...

    hope this helps,

    Norbert

  • Satellite P200-1EE PSPB6E: problem of battery and Webcam

    Hiya People,

New on the Toshiba Forums here and stuck on a problem I have with this laptop.
I have a Satellite P200-1EE model number: PSPB6E 0GM028EN. The election House of Uni a few days ago my refuses to laptop to turn on the laptop on and happening only when I put a Power cable in.

I took out the battery cleaned with a can of Air and put it again and it worked but the next time I did nothing happened.
Strange thing is that, once it is running, and I take the power wire, it works fine.

2nd problem is the software integrated Webcam won't work for me. Sometimes, and when I restarted the laptop it works fine again.
I tried to reinstall the driver but it gives warning that the newest is already installed on my laptop.
Am I right in thinking that its due to the new version?

It is maybe something wrong with the battery of laptops of s?
How old is your laptop? Guarantee is valid?

As far as I know, the guarantee covers the battery for one year. Then maybe you should ask and ASP in your country for a control? Maybe the battery doesn't work as it should.

I n t have a solution to deliver you but I assume that it s associated with the software/driver of webcam.
You should visit the European driver Toshiba page from time to time and need to check if an update is available.

  • Question about battery on Satellite P200-1JV

Can someone answer this question please: what Satellite P200 battery and battery recharging happens at 100% load, and the light is blue are there continuing fees to the battery or does the pc disconnect the load?

I ask this question because my laptop is plugged in for long periods of time and I don't want to fry the battery because 99% of the time its used as a desktop pc.

    Hello!

Have you checked the manual for more information? I downloaded it on the Toshiba site because I have another model and I can find the following information on the LED power:
+ In normal operating mode, the power light is blue (depending on the model you have purchased). If the system is in Standby Mode, the LED flashes orange, while the light is off when the computer is turned off or in Hibernation mode. +

I put t know if this information is useful for you, but if the laptop is connected with the adapter AC/DC battery will not be used.

    Good bye

    Any help would be great.
    Cheers, Glen.

To be honest I don t use real-time, but have you tried to reinstall?
