Satellite P205D - line-in port accepts signal VCR

Help with video import P205D, will accept signal VCR online? Trying to import video to burn to dvd.
Didn't know I was such a novice.

Unfortunately, this model of laptop is not known to me but in the users manuals, you can read about all the ports available on this model of laptop. To send the video signal, you need VIDEO-IN port, and I believe that this port is not available on your model of laptop.

I assume that you write on the microphone port. Where this port you are writing about?

I guess, it is burning or something like that. You can buy a USB hub, it's a device that develops a single USB port into several so that there is more available ports to connect devices to a host system. It's not expensive and you connect many devices.

  • Satellite P205D freeze after hibernation/standby in Win7

    Hello

Satellite P205D my daughter has just been upgraded to Windows 7. fine, except that now, it freezes shortly after the resumption from standby or hibernation. Minidumps just point to a "hardware". We executed the installed Toshiba installation software (it was a 'clean' installation), value added package, and updated the BIOS and 1.7.
Any ideas what could be casuing the problem? -J' I assumed it was a suspended driver, but would have thought that they would have to day now.

The only thing showing a problem in device manager is a (probably from a USB stick) USB mass storage controller, but that the deactivation has no effect.

  • Satellite P205d-S7454 stops randomly

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite P205d-S7454 and love it.
It worked fine for the last ten months or so without any problem whatsoever.

However, yesterday while playing a video game that I played on my computer several times before, my computer just stop, no screen of closing, it just turned off as if a power switch had been touched.

I turned it back on, it started to load windows, but then stop again, I turned it on again, but nothing appeared on the screen, so I held the power button to turn off.
After waiting a minute or two, I turned it back, loaded windows and loaded my game upward once again and after about ten minutes, it stopped again.
It's really frustrating, and I don't think that this should happen.

If anyone can offer any help or advice, I'd be * really * appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance!

The way that describe you it, the first thing that comes to mind is a laptop overheated. What you describe is exactly what would be like my old one, whenever I play a game and put this processor to work my laptop would get so hot that it would simply be closed. As a solution, if this is really the case, that it isn't properly, cooling, I would say clean it or maybe put it on a notebook cooler.

Satellite P205D-S7438 belongs to the series of portable US is why you need to use the Toshiba page driver us to download.

But unfortunately, I checked the US page and there is no XP driver for the Sat P205D series.
Also the page European driver of Toshiba does not provide XP dryers for P200D books.
So I doubt you will get to the buttons FN under Win XP.

If they both be D: How can I change?
My system is Vista 32 bit.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi mate

In my computer, you should see the HARD and CD /DVD. disc drive
Usually the HARD drive or the partition of the HARD drive is listed as C and the CD/DVD drive must be registered as D or other letter.

Depends on the partition created on the HARD drive because each partition is assigned to a certain letter.

However, the letters are editable in the Windows operating system disk management.
    Make a right-click on desktop-> manage-> disk management
Here, you can change the letters.

    Regarding the CD/DVD drive:
I recommend the withdrawal of the CD/DVD drive in Device Manager list.
Simple delete it and restart the device.
After restarting again, then OS should recognize the STRANGE new

    Hello

To me, it seems that Satellite P205D-S8802 is a series of portable US.
You should be able to order the recovery of the ASP disk in your country.
Otherwise, you need an original Vista from Microsoft and the pilots could be downloaded from the American pilot site.
But note; You may not use the Vista serial number which is placed at the bottom.
It belongs to the preinstalled Vista and it s version just an OEM

    Hello

    > This problem start after a storm in my area some time ago.

Because other devices don't work properly and because procedure didn t get it back help you solve this problem, I think that the problem is related to the hardware malfunction possibly that the motherboard was hit by lightning, which would explain the problems

I think you should ask the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country to check the motherboard.

But in my opinion, that the warranty does not cover the issues of environmental impact maybe your household insurance could help you

  • Satellite P205D-4378 crashed so that the BIOS update

    Hello everyone,

It is my first post on the forum, although I've read here a lot.

My problem seems to be classic: had several problems with my Satellite P205D-4378 crash.
Visited the Web from Toshiba site, they have a BIOS update that fixes the problems that I have. I do the update, CRAAAASH!, dead computer.

    Death seriously.

Turn on the other computer, search, find a few websites on "crisis recovery disk Phoenix.

I read religiously, run to the store, buy a FDD, some readers, usb, the Bios file download, rename, make the drive...

Trembling with anxiety, I press FN + b, switch on the machine, and it works!

Well well... at least the works of the Zombie fashion: pink LED, high speed fans, manages the USB FDD, begins the USB FDD, he read for a good two minutes! Then nothing.

'It's ok, it'll be ok' I think. The starting block is a program that is not more than 4 k, the computer has no bios, impossible to use anything, and must digest a 1000 k bios.

    I wait, nothing happens.

SO what now? I tried the 'start FDD' ten times at least. Last try, I waited all night! I Went sleep after the computer read the floppy).

Whatever I do, once the disk has been read, nothing happens.

I turn it off, I unplug it, I try with battery, no battery, I speak well, I insult, I pray, I cry, I swear... NOTHING WORKS!

    I do something wrong, somewhere.

On my drive are the phlash16.exe, the minidos.sys and the bios.wph (extract from a file named AASA40. ROM, downloaded with the pack zip on the toshiba site)

What should I do? I read it on some forums that computer makers like Dell and Compaq deliberately disable the Boot Block Flash, is the same thing with Toshiba?

The latest version of the bios that I have downloaded is corrupted?

Is it possible that my motherboard is physically by the update failed? In this case, is it easy to replace yourself?

I don't want to be ripped off by Toshiba for repair, if the only thing that I miss so far is a combination of keys at the end of the flash Boot Block recovery...

    In short, I'm lost.

No idea to this wonderful group of reflection?

    Thank you

    Baaharb.

I think that the update of the BIOS based on windows is security more like an update of the traditional Bios.
Why? Because using the traditional BIOS there is always a risk that the wrong BIOS would be used.
The BIOS using focused on victory, this risk does not exist.

I know a lot of people who uses a bad BIOS and damaged module BIOS ROM.

Anyway. To show you, I think that there is one solution as mentioned by delvoie, you will have to contact the local ASP.

    See you soon

  • How can I get Satellite P205D-S8804 to recognize the printer?

    Hello

I have a Canon S200SPx printer usb and a Toshiba Satellite P205D-S8804 at the Vista and that you get computer to recognize the printer.

I have already downloaded all the printer drivers for Vista and have USB printer and cable and led all connected, but still computer does not recognize the printer.

    Hello

I have a USB printer too and my laptop would recognize the printer correctly.
I had to install the drivers first!
Then I connected the two devices (laptop & printer) and Windows Vista has reported that a new device has been recognized.
After a short time the printer appears in the Device Manager

Maybe you should check if you have installed all necessary drivers
In addition to renew the USB in Device Manager
You simply remove the hubs USB and controllers from the list of devices in Device Manager. Reboot the laptop one waiting until Vista recognizes the USB controllers and then install software printing and after new reboot connect the printer!

The printer must be turned on then

  • Can satellite L300 - I use the microphone as line-in port?

On Toshiba Satellite L300 PSLBGE, there are too many plugs: microphone and headphones.

I would like to copy and transform in digital music from my old analog tapes thorugh an audio cable and a former recorder. Before, I use a desktop PC, which was a line-in Jack (I use Sound Recorder). But the laptop has only two Sockets mentioned. Can I use taken mic as line - in one? At the present time, I installed Windows XP.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hello

Did you check your user manual? I doubt that this is because there, I created the following information:
Standard 3.5 mm mini jack microphone allows the connection of a microphone or any other device for * audio *.

This means that you can also connect other devices to input for audio recording. ;)

  • Video capture with a satellite Pro M70: which ports and drives can I use?

I want to edit my home movies on my Satellite Pro M70 using WXP Pro (win dvd or movie maker). I want to capture video from my panasonic camcorder that has digital strips. What are the ports that I can use and what cables do I need? I'm desperate to edit my recent wedding video to put on DVD and mail it to my mom. The panasonic website has ignored me! Any advice anyone?

Well, as far as I know this unit has only one S-video output port. In this case, you can connect the laptop to the TV and look at the photo of laptop to TV but it of not possible to receive all the signals of TV or any other device on your laptop.
To receive the signals, you need a composite or a s-video port.

However, if the camcorder has a firewire if port you can send digital files through the firewire connection. But this should only work with digital files that are saved on the camcorder.
