Satellite P300 - 1 9 - Pink line on the LCD displays

After only 18 months of use, a vertical line rose, 1 pixel wide appears on my screen. Connected to an external monitor, the display is fine.
I read on the net that in such a case, the problem may be cable or screen himself.
The interesting thing is that generally people get this problem after 18 months or more.

Is it a manufacturing defect? What should I do to see if the cable or the screen?

Hello

> I read on the net that in such a case, the problem may be cable or screen himself.

From my own experience, I can say that as much as possible is a screen itself.

> What should I do to see if the cable or the screen?

If it is still under warranty (I know, 2 years of warranty for computers laptop Toshiba), you should contact the service center and will fix.

All of a sudden, I have a line from the left to the right, about 5 cm from the bottom of my screen. I have a Satellite A210-138. The line is very clear and is composed of 'points' as typing a line of dots in a text document, at the same time appears a vertical line, more or less in the middle.

This line as "spikes", but very low, you can not see. Can someone tell me to get rid of these lines? Help is very appreciated!

Sorry, but it is not easy to help. For me the description of your problem is not clear enough.

This line is permanently on display from the first moments when you turn on your laptop or it occurs later?

  • Satellite M60-104 - vertical lines on the LCD

    Hello guys,.

I have a Toshiba Satellite M60-104 and in recent months, I noticed vertical lines on the LCD screen. How can I solve the problem?

    Any response will be useful,

    thanx

    Hello

First of all, you should check if you have the same problem on an external monitor. So you can check if the problem is the graphics card or screen.

However, I think that the motherboard or display needs to be replaced. To do this, you can go to an authorized service provider.

Return it to the store for assessment.   It is in the warranty period of 12 months, so it could be replaced if you insist that you are in the United Kingdom.   Otherwise it is covered by your warranty and is either replaced or repaired according to the countries.

  • Black horizontal lines on the LCD screen at a specific time during the start and stop

Hi, I am currently using a Presario CQ61 Notebook PC.  My problem, as indicated in the title, are black lines on the LCD screen, apparently when the screen is reset or enclose itself turned off during the start and stop only. From the judgment, he produced a split second her stops the hard drive, after that the screen is black. The lines and then quickly disappear. At startup, lines appear after the Windows logo has passed and the screen went from black to start loading the login screen.

The LCD is in perfect condition, all using the PC. No line, no discoloration, etc.. Nothing extraordinary either. The problem does occur only during these two periods, specifically. I am also unable to note the lines when I'm looking directly at the screen. I have to be standing next to the PC, at an angle.

Now, I had this PC for a considerable amount of time, however, I never paid much attention to the screen when starting upwards or stop, so this could definitely be something that the laptop has done since I bought it. I also read on similar problems, and it could be an outdated video driver or BIOS.

I want to just make sure that it is not a major problem. Thank you all!

  • Satellite P300 - 13 X (PSPC4E-02E00JG3) - supports the SSD?

    Hello

I want to buy an SSD for my Toshiba Satellite P300 - 13 X (PSPC4E-02E00JG3). I opened the back panel and saw that he has a blank for a second hard drive.
I want to put a SSD in this space. My laptop is supports the SSDS?

    Do you think that the Kingston SSD now 100 - SV100S2N / 64G is compatible? (http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/PartsInfo.asp?root=uk&LinkBack=http :// www.kingston.com/ukroot&ktcpartno=SV100S2N/64G)

    Thank you.

    Sorin

    Hey Sorin,

Satellite P300 supports already SATA interface t so I see a problem for SSDS. They have the same normal hard drives SATA interface and the same size, if you buy a 2.5.

As you can see in other threads, many users already did a SSD upgrade on different laptops models and it always worked correctly.

The Kingston drive you mentioned that you should work fine. Generally all brands SSD and HDD works there is no compatibility issues, or you must buy a certain brand. So just buy your favorite one ;)

  • Satellite P300 - 21 k - how to use the mouse Toshiba BT wireless

    Hello

I have a new Toshiba blue tooth wireless mouse and I tried to make it work with my Satellite P300 - 21 k, with a Bluetooth dongle.
But the mouse does not work, help please.

I'm not very good with technology is if there is a guide step by step to set it up with the dongle.

    Thank you
    Mike

    Hello

I think it is not very complicated to install and configure this mouse.

Simply activate the BT on your P300 using the FN + F8 key combination.
This combination FN active WLan too so don't forget that you have chosen BT!

I don't know if you have to choose new BT connection such as the use of a BT keyboard or a mobile phone, but first try without creating a new connection perhaps the mouse will be recognized automatically m.

Here, on this Toshiba BT portal, you will find also some details about BT:

  • Satellite P300-1GK - I can't use the S-video port

    Hello

According to the specifications of the laptop, I have a S-Video output. The problem is that there is something just in front. So I can't use it. Check the picture.

    http://img220.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p1010027s.jpg

    How can I do?

    Hello

Seems the specifications listed on the page are not entirely correct.
Satellite P300-1GK supports TV-out but NOT s-video and Composite port!

In addition, HDMI port output is available to connect the laptop to an LCD HDTV.
But some other models support the s-video and that's why you can see a place for s-video port in the lid of the laptop

    I hope I could bring a precision!

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro A210 - repeat vertical lines on the screen

I hope someone can help me.

I am a teacher and was bought by my school a Toshiba Satellite Pro A210 for me to do my school work and connect to a SMART board to teach with. Throughout its probably one of the best laptops I got through school. I got it two months.

There is only one problem with it. Its developed a rather weird problem. Occasionally, the screen suddenly freezes, and the display will be replaced by thin, alternating vertical black and white lines. The only way to get rid of them is to turn off the laptop and restart it (particularly annoying when it happened in the middle of a lesson when I've been respected by an OFSTEd Inspector!)

Technician computer school has no idea what is the cause. I was wondering if someone here might have some advice.

    Thanks in advance.

I ve the same laptop but I didn t receive similar lines on the screen.
What you could do is update the BIOS and the driver (if possible) display.

If the same problem happens again, you must connect an external monitor to the laptop.

Then check if the same lines appears on the external display. If so, then a problem of graphics card might be possible!

  • Satellite P300 - 1 7 - How to enable the project?

I have the Satellite P300 - 1 7 with wifi link 5100. His work just to 54 Mbps. I don't have 300 Mbps connection. The distance is 1 to 3 metres.
Why does only not with n-draft?

-Operating system is Windows Vista 32 bit
-Router W - lan is Vodafone Easybox A 602---> (identification of the software have n-project)
-wifi link 5100---> (identification of the software do NOT have n-draft) why?

These products have the latest driver updates.

    Help, please...

    Hello

What happens if you choose only the draft N speed in Device Manager? So go in Device Manager, select the wireless network adapter and click Properties. Here, you can change how fast WLAN should be used. Here, you define project N only!
Also, make sure that the WLAN router uses N project only, too!

Finally and most importantly make sure that this latest driver WLAN and BIOS version is installed. Both can be downloaded from the Web from Toshiba site.

  • Satellite P300 - 219 PSPCCE - what should be the optimal heat of CPU?

    Hello there;

I use for my laptop Satellite P300-219 (PSPCCE) newly bought about a week now. When you type I can't help noticing, the place where I put my left hand, I want to say the empty space to the left of the touchpad, feels much too hot. I looked for the manual and I have learned that it is where the CPU.

Then I searched for a way to measure the heat of CPU, and after having tested some programs with too many different measures, I led to believe that the 'CPUID hardware Manager"gives the best results, after you set the correct value TJUNCTION.

Here are the steps I get today while typing this message:

    ACPI hardware monitor
    Temperature 0 45note ° C (112 ° F) [0xC6E] (THRM)

Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T6400 hardware monitor
    Temperature 0 56a ° C (° F 132a) 0 x [31] (Core #0)
    Temperature 1 54a ° C (° F 129a) 0 x [33] (Core #1).

Monitor hardware ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
    53A temperature 0 ° C (° F 127a) (GPU Core)

    Hardware Hitachi HTS543232L9S monitor
    Temperature 0 37â? Â ° C (98A? Â ° F) (0 x 25) (Assembly)

From now you mind, windows taskbar indicates that I use roughly about 15 & 35% CPU. After a little use, I even though the CPU heats by a maximum of 69a ° C.

The truth is, I don't know what to do with these readings, is my laptop which works very well, or he has problems? Could someone please tell me what should be the optimal level of heat for a P300, or where I can learn?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

In my opinion, everything is ok with your laptop, buddy and the temperatures are quite good. Don t be to worry about this!
If your laptop could overheat, it would have to close or freeze immediately. If this isn't the case, everything is ok with the temperatures.

What you can do is to change the cooling method in Windows power management. Here, you change between performance and battery optimized cooling.

By the way: you should also clean your laptop at any time. I clean my laptop every 3-4 months using a jet of compressed air. This blows the dust from the cooling fans.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L650 - 1 M 0 - cannot install the new display driver

    Hello!

I have the Toshiba Satellite L650 - 1 M 0, and I can't install the new drivers for my graphics card: Mobility Radeon HD 5650 from the AMD website. Why can't I do it? I want to install the latest display drivers, because I have problems with the display mode. My laptop is set to 16:9, but some programs display in 4:3.

Please give the latest drivers on the Toshiba site or tell me what can I do to download the drivers from the website of AMD. I have Windows 7 64 x;).

    > Why can't I do it?
I m wondering really you ask something like that. It is well known that the support for mobile devices (laptops) is offered by laptop manufacturer and not by the hardware manufacturer.

Because of the design of specific laptops with limited cooling performance graphics card can not be upgraded as on maps graphics designed for desktop computers. New driver means more performance. More performance means more heat and result can be damage of graphics card or switch-offs due to temperature-critical material.
