Satellite P300 - 13 M - Volume control letters

I have a little problem with my Volume control on the front of my laptop.
If I turn it, the volume of the laptop will not change.
But for some reason, he wrote 'c' and 'b '.

For example. When I type an email and I want to change the volume by turning the volume (up and down) control, I get this:
ccccccbbccccccccccccccccccccccccccbbccccccbbccccc
As soon I turn it up and down more ' BS I get.
It is really strange and frustrating. Have been locking for drivers to fix this, but there is no driver for it.

Can someone help me please.
(And recover my full book isn't an option)

Hello

Akuma wrote it's very strange. You must also understand that no one here can say with certainty why this happens, but we can start this discussion with some questions.

The fact is that every laptop comes with the pre-installed recovery image. This image is tested and something like that should not happen. The questions are:

Are you still using this factory or you have installed your own operating system?
Have you noticed this strange behavior from the first day?
Maybe did you install additional software that may be responsible for this?

At the end one thing: maybe you should try radical and install OS using created recovery media. After doing this, you will again have to factory settings. It will be interesting to see if the problem persists. If so, I think that this is the case for the authorized service provider.

    Hi JCP34,

I found a similar thread on the same behavior on Satellite A300 and the solution was very simple: it's the dirt on the inside and with jet of compressed air, blow it. After that, it s working again.

  • Satellite Pro P300 - problem with volume control

    Hello

I have a problem with my volume control. He worked for the first two months of use value, but now refuses to lower the sound.
He sort of stutters and actually transforms the sound upward when you turn, he 'left' to drop.

I markets DEAMS it is a digital control and therefore is not a point 'end' like other laptops. I also noticed others are experieicing this problem.

Is there a solution to this problem? I don't really like having to manually click on the volume control in the status bar on the window in order to be able to turn the laptop down. Maybe someone can help me?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

In your case, I recommend reinstalling the audio driver and controls (with Win XP) Toshiba or Toshiba VAP (if Vista is installed).
In addition, you should check if the BIOS can be updated too.

Sorry for this suggestion, but in my opinion that the question must be related software and the fact is that driver sound and the VAP multimedia button controls and the sound card.

It of certainly worth a try

  • Satellite Pro A200-PSAE4E: Volume control moves without any breakpoint

First time I've used this excuse. Just bought my second Toshiba this time Satellite Pro A200-PSAE4E Vista Business. The volume control turns both clockwise and anti hourly without any breakpoint that it in either... just begins to turn.

Increase and decrease the volume but it is unpredicatble and the fact that there is no breakpoint on the rotation of the wheel is I wonder if there is a fault? Seems strange to me.

    Adivce appreciated

There s nothing wrong with the volume control!
Here are the new properties of the volume control. These volume controllers are integrated in the different portable Toshiba top of range, that a similar volume controller can be found in the new Qosmio series

So relax and enjoy your new toy ;)

  • By Satellite L300-147-manual volume control does not

The manual on the laptop volume control no longer works. If I try to adjust the volume (on the right of the headphone plug-ins) - I just keep scrolling. So, I can only watch DVDs on a really low level. I adjusted the volume under 'control panel' control to the maximum level.

Any ideas to fix this please?

Never heard talk about it but it makes sense with the installation of the Package of added value.

It's really strange question, and it will be interesting to know if this helped. Please post the results.

  • Satellite P300 - 19 p: media control need to press several buttons times

Hi all, I'm a newbie on this forum, but I like my Toshiba products!

I recently received a P300 19 p and touch sensitive environments on the high keys buttons (Media Player to mute, open, play/pause, stop, previous, next) work, but only when I type them something like 20 to 30 times repeatedly. Sometimes, they work in only 5 or 6 taps, sometimes, it takes more like 50. What happens here?

I would have thought it was something to do with windows media player has a lot of songs (about a thousand to be honest), but that would not explain the silent buttong being devoid.

The LEDs all work fine if... :-(

OK thank you EmperorK for this nice feedback that the problem has been resolved!

    Just a tip about the temperature higher;
Please note that your laptop is always used on the table to avoid a higher internal temperature.
This is important because the grids and the cooling fans are still free to ensure a flow of fresh air.

    Good bye

  • Way to increase the sensitivity of the volume control on Satellite P300

    Hello

I was wondering if there is a way to increase the sensitivity of the volume control on my P300? On my old toshiba, it's maybe 1 full rotation of the minimum to maximum. On this one, it seems that you are there for about 5 minutes fiddling around with your thumb to get it to change significantly.

    See you soon,.
    DD

On old Toshibas volume control has been ordered mechanically, but now it works electronically and this option doesn't exist.
It is unclear to me that you can do anything about it.

  • Can satellite P300 - I connect to a TV and control?

Can I connect my Satellite P300 to TV hdmi-cec and control the laptop with the tv remote?

    Hello

Connecting via HDMI cable should t be a problem. Just buy a high quality cable and connect both devices. With FN + F5, you can switch between monitors.

Unfortunately I think that it of not possible to control the laptop through TV remote. The TV remote is designed for your TV, not your laptop. ;)

  • Re: Satellite P200-123 volume control wheel

Is it a mechanical or software driven command?

If I turn the wheeel 'up' the volume sometimes breaks down? It doesn't seem to be a 'stop' on the wheel.

    All tips are welcome

    Thank you

    Hello

the volume control of the Satellite P200 is a software engine, so it has no physical stop like on older machines, which means that there are some disadvantages about the time to change the flight and the reaction control.
Don t ask me why they have implemented this software wheel-driven, but each new series of machines there and it s predictable that they will stay with this technique...

You work quietly with the steering wheel to avoid such phenomena as spin the wheel 'up', but the volume down.
I have the same on my Tecra S5 and it drives me crazy sometimes, but I have to live with it...

  • Massage "cannot Access Volume Control!" on my Satellite L20

I have this strange problem on my laptop Satellite L20-100 with Windows XP Pro pre-installed.
When I turned on the laptop this morning I got this massage WARNIG: "Can t Access Volume Control!", then I noticed that the (Windows) Volume control icon does not appear in the system tray of taskbar.

Generally, the sound works under Windows. When I go to control panel-> sounds and devices Audio-> Volume V is marked near the "place volume icon taskbar", I tried to deselect and score again. It still does not appear, if I can change the volume here (Panel-> Sound) and Audio-> Volume devices and it works, but when I try to change it with Fn + up/down the whole bar is red because he does not see the sound card or something.

I tried to reinstall the audio driver, nothing happens.
This actually happened before, the first time that reinstalling Windows helped, I think.
Anyone have any idea what should I do? Thanks in advance...

If this problem occurred suddenly have you tried to roll back OS to an earlier time using System Restore tool?

  • The volume control on the Satellite Pro A200 with Ubuntu 7.10

I have a Satellite Pro A200GE-1F9, I did recently to dual boot with Vista and Ubuntu 7.10. It's the first time I used Linux and most things are going well so far.

However, the volume control (a wheel at the front of the laptop) does not control the volume correctly with Ubuntu, rather than increase the volume smoothly as with Vista, it increases in a 1/8 of maximum volume jumps, the on-screen volume control is always smooth. I think that it is at least partly due to the change of a material volume wheel, as with the latest Toshiba, I have used, for a version of software based. It controls the system volume and runs continuously, without stop at maximum or minimum volumes.

Does anyone know how to change this change in volume for a smooth jump?

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

given that no one here has no idea, nor pilots, nor any information about the driver from toshiba support, nobody will be able to give you some useful information.

Have you ever google and checked the ubuntu forums? According to me, which will bring you closer the source here instead.
So just to start to ask in the ubuntu forums because I think that someone is there who maybe has the same problem as you.

I hope that artistry a kind of programmer. ;)

I asked around, but sales people I have talked to don't know and I don't have time to travel around to find an expert on Toshiba laptops.

    Hello

On model previous laptop (Satellite P500) there is an option in the BIOS to disable the beep of the volume control buttons.

You should find it in the BIOS-Advanced-Online System Configuration online. There is an option called beep that you can disable.

Can you confirm this option on Satellite P750?

    Hello
I have a Satellite A210-131 for 3 days now, and the FN keys do not work. The numeric keypad using FN works fine, just the F1-12 combined with FN do nothing. I have the latest drivers and utilities from the website...

In addition, my touch volume control works quite stupid, it takes less than 20 seconds to set and then its way too hard... I always have to go to the sound control menu to change...
    Help, please!

    Hello

It's very strange. Usually, if you press the FN key and keep down flash cards must be indicated at the top of the screen. Please try to restart flash cards: start > all programs > TOSHIBA > utilities > restart Flash Cards.

I don't know what the problem with the touchpad and the control volume but friends Satellite X 200 (the same tablet like on your A200) works well. Problem described is quite strange, and to be honest, I don't know.
