• Satellite P300D-14 and Win8 - cannot install optional update

  I have a Toshiba Satellite P300D-14th with Windows 8 Pro.
  Hard drive is not original (all 2 disc HARD original died)-now this is Seagate Momentus ST9500325AS.

  In the updates of Windows, I put in optional day - + AMD - storage controller - AMD Sata Controller +.

  I try to install it, then mobile must be restarted - I do restart, load until Windows starts... and restart again, and then it displays the message that it could not start Windows, than restarting again and Diagnostic Utility starts.
  This notice of restore (restore point). I do restore and the laptop starts as usuall.

  So, question is - why I can't install this update? and is there a solution (except do not install).

  P.S.: Sata remains AHCI in the BIOS for the controller.

  From my point of view, there will be a compatibility problem.
  The P300D is a little older and you use Win 8.
  AFAIK P300D isn t Win 8 supported... of course, this does not mean that you can not use Win 8 on this unit, but it might be possible that not all drivers are fully compatible, however, it's just an idea

  Windows loads in resolution 640 x 480 and 4-bit color.

  When I'm changing resolution or color apears black screen and nothing happens, in 20 sec it cancels.

  Satellite P300D-20U belongs to the PSPDCE series and I think that it was equipped with the chip graphics ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 (M82XT).

  Did you choose this series in the form of European driver of Toshiba?

  I see the Display Driver for Win XP v 8.477.

  If you can not install using the setup.exe, then you should try to install this driver in Device Manager.

  After one of the windows updates after I restarted my laptop I get errors:

  With F1, I just confirm and the system to boot normally. But then I realized that firewire card and multi drive no longer works. I checked under devices and I have problems with the following devices:

  Well, if you have already tried to restore the system using the disk recovery Toshiba (your written you already tried this procedure) and this did not help to resolve the issue, the problem could be linked to the fault of the motherboard.
