Satellite P50t-C-109 a drive Blueray and other updates W10

This is a new laptop, I had a few days. Following an upgrade to W10 this morning the pc (a utility of Toshiba notifications) tells me that I had to upgrade four of these on the machine to new versions which have themselves been improved to work better with W10. Ok. He then told me that none of the improvements will install unless I have first of all uninstall existing versions. Ok. I go to control panel and uninstall:

  1. "PC Health Monitor"
  2. "Blue Ray player.
  3. 'Eco Utility' and
  4. 'Display utility.

I couldn't find clear equivalents and obvious of the three first (there is a 'pilot' and a 'tool' for the display which, if either, is the 'utility' replacement). So for that I do nothing.

I have uninstall the first three of the above list. I reboot then, as instructed, and return to the app notifications from Toshiba, W10 replacement versions are nowhere to be seen. Not in my downloads. Not impressed.

So, now I get the "My Toshiba" thing and go to support and eventually found my way to the library of drivers for my machine. In the library, there are no drivers/utilities for W10, so I download the W8.1 64-bit versions. I am able to install 'pchm-20140425102908', ' eco-20140813100052 "-which is not recent, but at least I have these new utilities."» I can't find anything called 'View Utility'.

However, the blue ray player does not, install "blueraydp-20150211105936" gets so far in the installation and then says: "PatchProject - InstallShield Wizard. Can't find our player in your system. Installation interrupted.

Well, thank you Toshiba, now, I don't have a blue ray player. What should I do?

Clear instructions please.

Thank you.

Exactly the same question to R50-B167, but in my case is the video player.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I would like to know the "best practices" for unplugging my computer permanently to the internet and other updates. I thought I would do a clean install of Windows XP, install my Microsoft Works again and nothing else. I would like to effectively transforming my computer into a word processor. I received excellent Microsoft Support when it happened before, but since my computer is around 13 years, I think it is not worth the headache to try to remedy. • -Portege Z10t 13 V graphic driver problems and lag with W10

    Hello

    Please excuse my bad English,

I just bought the Z10t A 13V PT 141, with W8.1. This computer works fine on W8, but I want to install W10. I already tried 3 times but each time, the cursor (with the touch pad or mouse) is lagging behind, each movement is jerky and works very well. I tried to see if it was a driver problem and downloaded new drivers from Toshiba for the W10.

I did the same thing with Intel drivers, but for graphics drivers, there is an error message: "a custom computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel driver update utiliy is not able to update the driver. Install a generic Intel driver instead of the driver from the computer manufacturer custom can cause technical problems. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.

When I'm with W8, drivers are correctly updated...

So I think that the cursor problem is due to this driver problem (I hope so, but I'm not sure). What is the solution? I'M alone with this problem?

    Thank you

    Hello Thomas,.

EXACTLY the same problem here with my uograded Portege Z10t-A-140 to WIN 10.
I also took the same steps and encountered the same problems and no solution.
I find Toshiba after sale customer VERY INEFFECTIVE and disappointing, because it seems no way to get a support PROFESSIONAL from Toshiba on this issue (or any other for that matter).
Note that I absolutely do not consider helping other users on a forum or self-help a form of professional support at all!

    You are welcome.

And certainly let us know how it works.

Here is some other information about the Windows updates for you, I put in place some time and which you may find useful if you are having problems with Windows updates:

Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

You must only obtain the latest drivers for them to the site of the real hardware manufacturer, like Microsoft normally does not have these latest drivers available as Microsoft invokes the material part 3rd RTOS provide.

But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.

You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

    'Remove an update'

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

'Remove an update - Windows 7'

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/remove-update#1TC=Windows-7

When you have found the issue of update of the list of updates which is presented > then right click on the update problem > select Hide update > and it will not be available to you once again

"How to hide or show an update of Windows Vista"

"Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/Windows-Vista-updates-and-extras/

    Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

    Please help me!

I just installed XP on my new satalite pro, but I had trouble with the drivers.

  • Satellite 230cx: Question about HARD drive, memory and CD recovery.

Can someone tell me if I can get a recovery for a 230cx disk? And what is the max hard drive that I have and RAM.

    Thank you...

    Hello

Well, it is a very old unit. I think that it s about 8 or 9 years.
However, I found the information that this unit has an internal memory of 16 MB and it of possible to upgrade the memory for max 144 MB (16 + 128MB)
Also, this unit has been delivered with a 1.37 GB HDD part Nr.: P000229560
I don t think you will be able to use a big HDD like 10 GB. The BIOS couldn't t recognize the HARD drive. Sorry but there is no information on the maximum size of HARD drive.

The recovery CD, you must order the Toshiba service partner.

  • Satellite Pro A200 (PSAF4A) - HARD drive stops and the computer crashes

    Hello

It's my first post in this forum, but certainly not my first issue

I recently had to re - install Windows Vista on my laptop because I had an undetectable virus that attacked Windows and made him useless.
Before that, I had many, many startup errors and windows crashes, but which were preventable or fixable. After the re - install, I noticed that windows stability was much better until recently.

I have not changed the settings or anything what so ever on my computer laptop which could affect the performance somehow, but I have a new problem.

If I have my computer running, performing tasks of base for a few hours I notice that performance and all of a sudden my computer completely stops responding.
The disk shows no signs of life after this point, and his only solution is a "disruptive Shutdown.
This appears in the reliability monitor and performance that all this, there is no input error, and nothing is done after.

I also noticed if either windows defender or other my antivirus runs a system scan that my performance is reduced to the point where I can't run a simple task like opening an Explorer window. This also translates to total non-response. This never happened before a week ago and now it happens every time.

These two started within the past few days and there is no clear reasoning behind it. My inactivity of the processor is always the same, no new processors added and no settings changed.

This could be a problem with Windows, my HARD drive, my CPU or something worse?

Is there a reason why is happening and is there a solution either of these problems?

First of all, you reinstall Windows with the Toshiba recovery disc or disc of Microsoft?

It's strange and not easy to say what's wrong, but in your case I would test the RAM and HARD drive.

There are special tools to test the following:
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT
    http://Memtest86.com/

On the two Web site, you can download a CD image. Burn it to a CD, start with him and then you can test parts.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite R630-155 - fan is too loud and SSD update

I am the owner of a Toshiba Satellite R630-155 (Core i5-480). My problems are:

    1. the fan is too loud and never stops. In normal operation (navigation and General Office work) there is a constant high pitch noise which is audible three to four meters in a desktop - high load environment, you just can't take it anymore! The fan never stops... even when you do nothing...

    2. the heat is a big problem. The bottom of the laptop is overheated constantly and I have to place on my desk so that the lower left corner is outside the table, so it can breathe fresh air from below - otherwise, the temperature rises and the (noisy) fan is unable to follow. When I work with the laptop sitting on a couch, I place a thick book between the laptop and my legs. The book must be thick (more than one inch) with hard covers, otherwise the heat going through the book!

    3. last (but not least, I will mention the biggest problems here) that's the problem with the installation of the SSD. I bought a used Corsair F80 (80 GB SSD) from a friend, but I was unable to use it with the Toshiba - BIOS not detect the disc. I tried to install all the latest updates for portable and SSDS but I had no success. Then I put the disc and I bought a brand new Zalman 128 GB SSD (SSD0128N1 Sandforce) but I had exactly the same problem. I contacted my local support Toshiba and after much conversation, the only answer I got is that the laptop is not compatible with these SSDS, and it is acceptable by Toshiba and not their problem. They told me that if I need an SSD upgrade I cannot go for the Toshiba SSD that is installed on the portege series, which is sold by Toshiba for a ridiculously expensive price - about $500 for 128 GB. I contacted the European support center and I got the same exact answer. I searched the Internet and found someone else with exactly the same problem with a Corsair 128 GB SSD - he concluded that the laptop detects the SSD after ten to twenty resets. I tried and it was true - after a lot of restarts the detected disk Zalman laptop and I was able to successfully install Windows 7, but the process is unacceptable. Also the drive is rated by the sites official at the speed of an OCZ Vertex 2 128 GB (and a little better), but when I ran a cue point in the Toshiba, the results I got were less than half of the advertised speed. Same reference in another machine of the same disc, resulted in the announced speeds.

Shame for Toshiba...-beautiful design and portability, but all the rest is a big flaw. Their support in non-existent and they do not appreciate their customers. According to me, they stole my money and I will never buy a Toshiba laptop again.

Sorry for the big message, but I need, I warn potential customers. Can anyone help me with any of these problems? You also have the same problems?

    To follow...

    Hey Buddy,

With regard to the issue of fan and the heat: you did it BIOS update? A friend told Satellite R630 too and he told me that the fan with the new BIOS version 2.10 activity is reduced. In addition, the laptop is colder than before so I recommend to install this update. You can download the update of the BIOS here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

But before you start the update of the BIOS, you should consider the following tips:
-Run update as an administrator only
-Unzip all files from zip archive before launching the update file
-Close all running programs as the antivirus and firewall
-Make sure the battery is fully charged

With regard to the SSD it s still a little complicated to install 3rd party products and no one can guarantee that these parts would not work. You're always on the side safely with original spare parts from Toshiba.

All you can do is to install the new firmware for SSDS and hope that it works, but who knows maybe the BIOS update will help you also in this case ;)

  • Satellite P500 - freezing when inactive, the his and other questions

    Hello

I have a Satellite P500 (bought in January) with Windows 7 and I've always had and some problems with it since I bought it:

-First of all, my serial number is not for the toshiba Web site, which is annoying when I want to update my drivers. In addition, automatic detection does not work. And when AI attempt to manually select the model, the only available is the "P500-1GN' (I'm sure that my model is just"P500").

-Second, sometimes, when I don't touch my computer for a few minutes/hours, it freezes and I can't do anything on this subject, I just reboot it. Sometimes, I take just the mouse, the cursor still moves but I can't click on anything and 5 seconds later, the cursor hangs also. Another time, I was chatting on Skype (voice chat) without touch to the computer and when I will come back, the seams of frozen screen, I couldn't do anything with the keyboard or the mouse, but I could still chat with Skype.

-Thirdly, I also have some problems of sound. When I listen to music and do nothing on the computer, no problem. But if I do something (like go on inernet, copiing files, etc...), I have some very annoying noise interference. I try with the speakers and headphones, it's the same thing.

-Fourth, less annying, then the others. When I type a text on the keyboard, somethings, the cursor from writing just go somewhere random in the text (it happens twice while I was typing this message...).

I tried to do a factory restore. Also, I have a version update of Avast, Spybot and Comodo Firewall, but I can not find the cause of these problems. I am wandering if I should ask for a replacement or something...

So... can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.
Oh and sorry for my bad English.

    Hello

    > First of all, my serial number does not exist for the toshiba Web site, which is annoying when I want to update my drivers. In addition, automatic detection does not work. And when AI attempt to manually select the model, the only available is the "P500-1GN' (I'm sure that my model is just"P500").

LOL: D didn't you notice that the Toshiba driver page contains the series of laptop and has no lists the unique laptop models?
Satellite P500-1GN is a part of the series PSPGSE call with P500 PSPGSE

    > Second, sometimes, when I don't touch my computer for a few minutes/hours, it freezes and I can't do anything on this subject, I just reboot it. Sometimes, I take just the mouse, the cursor is always moving, but I can't click on anything and 5 seconds later, the cursor freezes also. Another time, I was chatting on Skype (voice chat) without touch to the computer and when I will come back, the seams of frozen screen, I couldn't do anything with the keyboard or the mouse, but I could still chat with Skype.

This may be related to different issues; problem in the system, memory problem, etc. graphics driver problem
However, check the advice posted by Akuma; try disabling the USB selective suspension tuning"in the Advanced Power Options

    > Thirdly, I also have some problems of sound. When I listen to music and do nothing on the computer, no problem. But if I do something (like go on inernet, copiing files, etc...), I have some very annoying noise interference. I try with the speakers and headphones, it's the same thing.

Update the audio driver is worth a try

    > Fourth, less annying, then the others. When I type a text on the keyboard, somethings, the cursor from writing just go somewhere random in the text (it happens twice while I was typing this message...).

I had the same problem with the cursor, but it wasn't a really a problem. This is the reason why the cursor jumped around I touchpad the touchpad accidentally while typing.

  • Satellite T210 - Windows 8 x 64 drivers and BIOS update

Toshiba support would anyone tell me if and when we can expect Windows 8 x 64 drivers for Toshiba T210? The equipment is fairly standard. I'm sure it's very easy to compile the drivers available in the official version

I also wanted to know like when Toshiba T210 finally gets the update of the BIOS. Its current version of BIOS is 1.60 while many other models similar and earlier jumped to version 2.2 of BIOS and above

    Kind regards

It is user forum so that you will not receive response from Toshiba support directly.
What I can say is followed by:
All about Win8 on Toshiba laptops, you can read on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8-message/
Under the terms of the Toshiba compatibility matrix, you can check if your phone model is supported for Win8 or not.

What about BIOS. Toshiba doesn't offer updated BIOS if there is not a critical issue or a reason for it. If your piece of hardware working well and stable there is no reason to update BIOS. What do you expect should happen with the latest version of the BIOS?
