Satellite Pro 480CDT: Wave Device for Voice Modem

I reinstalled Windows 98SE on Satellite Pro 480CDT and it seems to work ok. But when I go into the Device Manager there is a yellow exclamation point in front of > Wave Device for Voice Modem<>

Do I need to install a driver for it? Could you describe or point me to it?

Thank you.

  • Satellite Pro 480CDT does not start (even in BIOS)

    Hi all

I just hand on a Toshiba Satellite Pro 480CDT

I had to work with the original power supply (on an inverter plugged into my 12v cars I wasn't close to 240 v power outlet)

It worked very well, it boots into Windows 98 and I played with a few programs (Media Player and defragmentation)

I got it defragment for about 5 minutes, while charging via the car converter, however it froze and I had to hold the power button to restart.

When I tried to next turn on the screen remains empty, the hard drive is not turn and there is only the power LED and battery LED that lights up.

He let me press the function key that lights up the fn LED on top of the keyboard, but then after a few presses of lighting stops.

I opened the case and concluded that there are two batteries of the bios, the look at where they are plugged into the main Board, there is green type of corosion on the pins, I removed the plugs (who might add when it is very difficult to remove because of the coros), I cleaned the plugs (male & female) with a pen of WD40 and plugged in I got a voltmeter on them and they demonstrate tension and also show higher voltage when the power supply for laptop is connected, then it means they are load or at least tension.

After doing this I go up the laptop, but it still suffers from the same problem?

Please what could someone help or give me a little advice? My next event is the power supply Board but wanted to get some ideals before hand.

    Thanks in advance.

    > after doing this I go up the laptop, but it suffers still from the same problem?

His pity to hear that your baby dead :(
But if we move to a diagnosis of material, I doubt someone here might be able to point in the right direction if his motherboard problem, it would be really difficult to solve this problem without using special tools, circuit diagram of motherboard and of course experience

I think you should check the modules memory vivid faulty ram could affect the laptop everything is just speculation

    :| What a fight! I have a Satellite Pro 480cdt.
It came with no disk working...

I have now repackaged in floppy drive, and an external cdrom connected using an external enclosure.
I bought a HDD refurbished for the machine, it arises in the caddy, and now the machine is equipped with discs.

The HDD is empty, but I have a cdrom in windows 98, so put in the drive, the message "insert disk in the drive system, then press any key..." So I put the CD in and also to put a downloaded in the floppy drive boot disk.

He is now asking me to remove all the drives and media and press any key!
Magic! How to bypass it little or no budget! (I'm retired)

I think it's done... It seems that the backup disks 98 to my last computer was faulty, so all this happens for an it expert to sort... And if it does not, it goes on the bonfire!

  • Satellite Pro 480CDT does not start with mounted HARD disk?

    Hello
I have tried several disks in my Satellite Pro 480CDT, but none of them starts. The screen stays black and the power led blinks orange (long, short, short, short, short, long, short, short). If I drive the machine past the on-screen "In Touch With tomorrow, TOSHIBA. He sees Windows CD-ROM or a floppy disk. I tried with 6 hard drives all below to 6 GB and AFAIK the work. I tried with another 480CDT a 220CS and a 2140CDS. Surely all hard drives and computers laptops have the same flaw? What I need to update BIOS or something as none of the drives are original for the machines.
    Help, please!
    Thank you

    John.

    Hi John

I'm afraid of nothing that you can do everything alone. When the electronic power supply detects a power problem, it sends the hex code. In this case you should contact the technicians. They can read this code and will know what the problem is here.

Just FYI: I discovered this disc HARD original for this unit has the P000244000 part number. Maybe it will help you get another HARD drive for testing.

Sorry I can't tell you more info on this good old classic.

  • Satellite Pro A120 - drivers need for ethernet and network

I rebulit a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 (PSAC1E) with XP pro and I'm having a hard time finding drivers for the * Ethernet controller * and * network controller *.

I downloaded all the drivers available from the site Web of Toshiba and installed these LAN and WIFI still do not work, I downloaded Intel drivers also and they have also failed to get the devices to work.

Try the drivers from the Toshiba site and there you can also download the installation instructions:

  • Toshiba Satellite Pro M50 comaptible - tools for WIndows 7

    Hello world
I own Satellite Pro M50, listed as a model on the official website of Toshiba - drivers and tools provided by Toshiba are only for XP and several of them for Vista.

I installed Windows 7 32 bit and I am very satisfied with the speed of the computer now. Windows 7 was able to detect my devices (screen, usb, wifi, lan) and drivers updated successfully. Everything seems to work OK now.

    Problem is with Toshiba tools.
MasterG (to whom I am very grateful, but I have not found a way how to address him directly) advised another user with the old model (M100-221) to use PPV and Flash Card Utility Support for series L500.
    (for more details: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=57586&tstart=0)

I tried, and the utility of Support Flash Card worked. Now, I can use the Fn key.

There are also a few features Toshiba I would run: Power Saver, utility TouchPad and so on. How could I know what model has tools that could function as a substitute for my only or was it just a coincidence that it worked?

Thank you very much in advance, and greetings to the whole community of toshiba, I'm really pleased with this support forums.

    Bevo

    Hi Ben,

It of Nice to hear that you have successfully install Windows 7 successfully on your Satellite Pro M50 and you also like the forum like me. :)

    What tools you want exactly?
There are a few differences between XP and Windows 7 tools. For example, Power Saver already belongs to a package of added value, and you can find the parameters energy saver in Windows the Windows Management.

The utility of touchpad you can download other laptops. AFAIK driver Synaptics and Alps Electric should work on all models, but you need to test, I n t have Satellite Pro M50.

In addition a list of compatible tools does not for me. Just try it.
Important is that you install Windows 7 versions or at least for Vista. I think that the XP don t work tools.

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite Pro A10 miniPCI ready for 802.11 g?

    Hello
I would like to insert a WLAN miniPCI card in a Satellite Pro A 10. Product specifications that it is ready for use with 802. 11 b, but will work an adapter WLAN 802.11 g? And is it possible to use the full 802.11 g or just 802. 11 b, even when the card is compatible 802.11 g?
    Thank you!
    Jens

    Hello

I checked some information about this device and it seems that you can only use standard Wi - Fi: 802. 11B.
In this case, you can use 802.11 b standard WLan cards. But perhaps a WLan 2200 b/g card will also work.

PS: Wireless cards are compatible rewards. the card 802.11 g is compatible with 802.11 b but not 802.11 b-> 802.11 g

  • Satellite Pro 4200: need driver for Win98 chart

    Howdy!

I installed win 98 is for my sp 4200 series laptop. Before the installation, I formatted the C drive. After installation, I discovered that the screen resolution is 640 x 480 (1024 x 768) and there were 16 colors. Windows won't let me edit these settings.

There must be a problem with the driver, right? Could someone tell me where I can find the right driver?

I couldn't find it on the site Toshiba´s. help!

    Hello

I managed to find the drivers for Windows 98 on the site of Toshiba Canada:
    http://209.167.114.38/support/download/ln_byModel.asp

On Toshiba Europe site, you will also find some drivers for the 42xx Satellite Pro series. I recommend checking out other laptops in this series that have the same graphics card, then use the graphic driver for this device.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    > I tried to update the bios, but it won't let me.

To me, it seems that you tried to install applications that are not compatible with this laptop.
Where did you get the drivers?

On the European driver of Toshiba in archive page, you can find the drivers for Satellite Pro M30

  • Satellite Pro 4310 support - looking for Northbridge/Southbridge

I have recently spoken of an old Toshiba Satellite Pro 4310. Currently, it's obviously a little slow and I am wanting to update is usable.
I'll buy some more RAM and a new HARD drive for it. He is running Puppy Linux (that I installed) and seems to work very well.

My problem comes mainly at startup. More time than I would like (ok, I know, it's an old laptop...) as is currently a spare, machine project, I was hoping to try CoreBoot (previously LinuxBIOS)
However I can't find details specific hardware (Northbridge/Southbridge) anywhere.

I just contacted technical support Toshiba who were happy to help, but did not have the information that I needed and referred me to "Topaz", who told me that they do not hold number of component specific of any piece of Toshiba, and nor any UK company.

Can someone please help me here? I really want to get the most out of this laptop.

    Hello

OK; I'll try my best ;)

    Info on RAM;
The laptop can be upgraded up to 320 MB and the modules that are supported are SODIMM 144 pin PC100

The laptop was equipped with internal memory of 64 MB, which is not removable. So only one location is available for the upgrade of memory:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=11466&ft=m&St=3

    Disk HARD;
The laptop supported disk interface HARD Enhanced IDE (ATA-5).
    Therefore, buy an IDE HDD.

I'm not sure about the size of the HARD drive. The old HDD was 10 GB. Right? Then maybe a 20 GB might works too but I m not 100% sure.

    Greetings

  • Satellite Pro L500 - no license for Toshiba Bluetooth Stack

Hope someone can help me. I'm going along in circles.

November 8, 2010 I bought online at Toshiba Toshiba Bluetooth Stack (Premium Edition) for my Toshiba Satellite Pro L500 so that I could use my dongle (non-Toshiba) existing. It works well until a few months ago.

Thinking that the dongle was packed that I bought another one.
However, even though I know that it is not working I could not make it work on my Toshiba laptop I get the error after the Toshiba Bluetooth stack as follows:

"Thank you for the evaluation of battery Bluetooth for Windows by Toshiba. The evaluation period is now expired. You can purchase a license for this version of Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba. "

This seems to involve I came at the end of a free trial period but I did not because I bought the full license in 2010. I tried various things, but I can't go beyond that. I'm not a computer boffin, but I can reasonably find my way around a laptop. Can someone please, please help me?
