Satellite Pro 6100 stops without reason

When I turn on my phone it stays for at least 15 minutes or more and then stops and DC-IN led flashing orange.

Nobody knows what is happening that I have read the manual and all?

For each share of laptop there is a reason any. In your case it may be overheating, but due to a light flashing, I guess there is a problem with the power supply. I really don't think you can do much alone.

Contact service. Maybe it should be repaired right and you only pay for the exchange of parts.

I agree with you and the user SambadeAmigo. It seems like a simple problem of overheating and so the laptop automatically stops to prevent the equipment from damage

I assume that your laptop can be enabled again after being allowed to cool. It is a common question if the cooling modules may not work properly because of the dust and debris.
As suggested, it would be possible to remove dust using the can of compressed air.
    It should work.

The only way to recharge the battery comes from disablyng the 'compatible microsoft ACPI control method battery' Manager of devices and from time to time allow him to see the procent charging.

Sorry for my bad English, hope you understand.

In my opinion, there are too many problems with your laptop and you should contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider and ask for help. I'm sure that your laptop has still warranty valid so why spend your time on the forums and search for a solution to these problems that probably cannot be solved without checking the material. It must be hardware so there is nothing you can do about the problems.

Communicate with the service, to explain the situation and they will help you with this.

  • Satellite P200D - 139D stop without reason - just off screen

    How ppl?

New to the forum and need help, or if anyone else has had this problem maybe they could help?

Suddenly, my P200D - 139D stops working. Screen go blank and the computer becomes completely non-responsive and the only way to turn or back on is taking the battery and put it back.

It can happen after 1 min or 4 hours, no real reason for it at all.

Any help would be much appreciated,

    Thank you, Staunchie.

    Hello

Do you mean that the laptop stops automatically (power off) or the screen turns white?

If the phone would power off automatically then it would mean that the internal temperature has increased at a higher level and so the laptop would have powers off.
In this case, it s a good idea to clean the fans.

But it s really strange if only the screen turns off.
I ve no general solution to this but you should check if your BIOS and graphic card driver is up to date. If this isn't the case, then an update is highly recommended.

    Check it out!

  • Satellite A300 stops without reason

    Hello

Since the transition from win vista to win 7, my Toshiba Satellite A300 stops without reason.
To install win 7 at Toshiba, I downloaded all the drivers for Win 7 and I installed.
    The bios has been changed.

    What should do?
Thank you for your future responses.

    Hello Dustin

Everything on this world happens with some reason.
I have Satellite A300 too and that you are using Win7 32 bit for 6 months. It works perfectly, and so far I did not notice a problem with it.
To be honest I don't know what you did exactly, but if you want to have fine under Win7 Satellite A300 install Win7 clean version and other stuff like follows:

    -Win7
    -chipset driver
    -Storage Manager
    -display driver
    -driver sound
    -modem driver
    -utility supervisor
    -infrared
    -patches
    -configfree
    -VAP
    Hardware - toshiba
    Control - HDMI
    -WLAN driver

Everything works well but lacks some drivers

    Added Vista tips:
Toshiba - help - working properly
    -Card reader - installed correctly
-Webcam driver for A500 - tested with Skype - works correctly.
    Driver - Synaptics

  • A Satellite Pro 6100 graphics card does not work correctly

    Hello!

I have a Satellite Pro 6100 (PS610E - 02c 60-GR) 1.7 Ghz, 256 MB, 40 GB, 15XT and a Geforce4 420 Go (32 MB) graphic card. Until yesterday it was working properly. Now, there are colors on the screen and there was a blue screen a few times, which says something about my graphics card (it disappeared from fast read).
I uninstalled the old driver and reinstalled twice. Nothing has changed. Also I tried with an external monitor, but there wasn't any change, too.

    Now my questions:
    1. is it possible to change the graphics card (in particular, can I do it alone without a technician)?
    2. How can I do this, is there some tutorials, especially for my laptop?
    3. an another Geforce4, but for example a Geforce4 440 Go with 64 MB of RAM would fit in my notebook?

I thank very you much in advance!
    Lukas

    Hi Lukas

The led flashes as it provides a microcode error!
This is especially if the malfunction of hardware has been detected.
I presume that the replacement of the graphics card is the reason!

As in previous discussions suggested the replacement of the graphics card is NOT possible. You don't believe!
Looks like that the BIOS cannot handle this new graphics chip.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 himself turn off

    Hello

I'm from the Italy. It is 3 days that my Satellite Pro 6100 after some time (it can be 30 minutes or 3 hours) close itself.
I tried to update bios version 1.70 to 1.90 without any result. I tested my HARD drive and it works fine. I formatted and reinstalled Windows XP Home SP2 Pro edition but the problem that it is still there.
When it crash, reboot, it seems 'BAD RTC BATTERY' and "BAD CMOS", I have to press F1, then I exit without changing anything.

I saw that 3 weeks ago appears at the beginning of this message: "PXE - E61 MEDIA TEST FAILURE CHECK CABLE"and"PXE - MOF OUTGOING INTEL PXE ROM" but works laptop well until 2 days ago.

I don't know why, but every time I restart now stop when WINDOWS XP is on the window (not the first logo on page WXP black) cyan, but the second on the window cyan; can do work that I have to press CTRL + ALT + CANCELLED and it go to the desktop.

I don't know what to do? Center of Toshiba, it is far from my town, if you can help me will be appreciated.

Sorry for my English, I read a few post but exactly with my problems, there is no job.
Thanks in advance, it's a great laptop I jump to save it.

p.s. There is no dust on it, I tried to lift the keyboard to clean, but it was already clean, even behind the fan.

    Hello supertraz,

On 6100 laptop there is a soft spot between the control panel and from the motherboard, causing this malfunction. You will not be able to solve this problem simply raise your keyboard and blowing air into your laptop.

A good description on this problem (I had, too) can be found on this forum posted by user seintaxx here:
    http://www.eXpansys.com/ft.aspx?i=104221&thread=7

A photo of the defaulting party is here:

    Good luck with it.

  • How to clean the cooling on Satellite Pro 6100 module?

Since my laptop for some reason stop (explained in my last post), I read messages from others who are similar to my problem and some of the responses that they was that they must clean the cooling with a vacuum (vacuum) module.

So I was wondering how to clean it and where is it? (I m not an expert on computers)

    Hello
I am not owner of a Satellite Pro 6100 but I saw this laptop on several pictures and it seems that the fans are placed at the rear near the CC.
If you try to vacuum dust and debris from these grids of fans.

I found also found a very detailed instruction how to remove and open the Satellite Pro 6100. http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba6100/Toshiba_Satellite_Pro6100_dismantle_1.htm

BUT if you have no experience, you must do it yourself. The best way to ask someone who knows what to do!

  • Satellite Pro 6100: cannot get into the BIOS and does not start

I have a portable Satellite pro 6100, en I was trying to boot from an external USB hard drive. When I activated the second hard drive option in the BIOS it has stopped booting all in all, I can't even get into the BIOS Setup more. All I get is "In touch with tomorrow TOSHIBA" screen with the icons to select the method of priming preferred manually after it's just blank screen with a cursor blinking in the upper left.

Press ESC or F8 before to turn usually results in fast beeps sounds.
Press tilde (~) before turn is reflected in the remaining space screen (not even the home toshiba screen appears) and slow Zens sounds.

Apart from that I can't really do nothing at all.
I tried to reset the BIOS by disconnecting the battery CMOS/RTC (hoewever, we call it) of the motherboard for a while with no results.

Turn on/off without the results of HD internal in a white screen with an ERROR 'IDE #0.
I can always stop by pressing the power button, you don't have to bother on the external hard drive it past I don't even want it works more.

    Suggestions?

    Hello

I agree with Graeme. Your HARD drive is probably faulty. Sorry, but I don't think that you will be able to use the external HARD drive. The option in the BIOS is not for EXTERNAL HARD drive is just, I guess, for disk HARD placed in select Bay.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - battery acting very strange.

As mentioned in the title, my laptop battery is very strange.

    The symptoms are:

When the battery is flat after only 7-10 minutes he turns not, however if the battery is removed and placed in the laptop, the laptop will start as it has never happened.
Not only that, but the bonus after the first can indefinitely until this that loaded into an OS and immediately after starting start the laptop stops due to an apparent lack of power, when there is power always, enough to do the same thing again. Also, the battery can still start even after being just in a freezer.

This reacondioned back to normal battery or is this safe to use battery?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

I guess that your battery is old like machines of this Satellite Pro 6100 and maybe it can't be charged more. In this case, your battery should be replaced.

But even if the battery is faulty, you should be able to use the device connected to the power adapter.
So even if the battery is removed, you could power the unit with the mains.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - how to change the date and time in the BIOS

    Hello

I received a satellite pro 6100 that had not been used for some time. Windows does not work then he reinstalled with the good drive.

When I try and windows 'enable', I get the error 32777 and the laptop is unable to connect with the activation servers that a google leads to believe me that the date and time are incorrect in the bios.

I know that Press esc to access the bios but there is no option to change the date and time in there. I put the date / the correct time in windows, but this does not seem to synchronize with the bios. I've updated to the latest version of the bios, but this is not enough.

How can I change or update the time in the bios?

    Thank you

    Hello

I doubt this time and date setting BIOS does affect Windows activation time Windows doesn t affect it in my opinion. There must be another reason for this problem.
You can activate Windows by phone?

Normally the date and time in the BIOS can change you if you mark the date or time, and then press on + or - to change this. Sometimes you have to press PageDown/to the top according to the model of BIOS or laptop.
Usually in the configuration of the BIOS you will find a brief info how changing the values.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - after updating the BIOS, it does not

    Hello

I am trying to upgrade my old of Satellite Pro 6100.

I started to upgrade the Bios via download from Toshiba (using WIN) site - OK downloaded zip files and installed, machine then stops. Problem, it does not restart - it's so now I have a laptop 'death' that is not responding to any key I tried.

    Any suggestions of resuscitation?

Already I've updated from XP to SP2.

    Thank you

    Paul

    Hello

It sounds like that the BIOS update has failed and your laptop can start t again. But try this workaround:
Remove the AC adapter and the battery and then wait an hour. After that reconnect the adapter AC/DC and battery. Try to start the laptop.

If it doesn t work I think that the motherboard needs to be replaced or you go to an authorized service provider. Technicians can reflash the ROM module
But maybe you can find a motherboard of second hand cheap on eBay

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro 6100 Graphics Card upgrade/replacement

    I have a Satellite Pro 6100 p4 - m 2.0 30 GB and the graphics card is dead. I love this laptop.

He had a NVidia GeForce4 420 Go 16 MB card

I can replace it with a GeForce4 420 Go 32 MB of the same model.

Is there something more powerful on the market that works without any problem for the 6100? That is to say. GeForce4 440 Go 64 MB?

    See you soon

Usually didn t of toshiba offers an update of the separate graphics card but he had different graphics cards installed in your computer, and, THEORETICALLY, you can use each of these cards in your machine. I can't promise it but they should all work in this machine.

The problem is to disassemble the machine completely and if you do something wrong then you know that it is useless to come back because your machine is no longer in warranty. It would be wise to give the machine a technician to exchange the graphics card.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you what graphics cards in your machine or which partnumbers are needed. In this case you´re on your own.

    Good luck
