Satellite Pro A10 - continuous flashing light (orange)

Hi Maybe someone can help, I spilled ribena on my laptop (stupid I know) and now it used to power over wheter I use the AC adapter AND battery, or a single. in the dc - in light flashes orange. I was wondering if any1 can suggest some b4 help that consider a shop

Thanks in advance
Nikki

Hello

Well, if the AC adapt is plugged and the yellow/orange flashing light, so it could be a power supply error.
If the unit works only with the battery and flashing light orange so it could be a low capacity battery or the machine is not plugged in.
I think you should contact the service partner to solve this error.

Good bye

    Hello

There must be a hardware, perhaps with the electronic power supply problem.
In this case, the motherboard should be replaced.
But you should contact Toshiba service partner in your country. It can start some diagnostic tests and then it can give you a detail answer what's exactly wrong.

  • On Satellite Pro A10 HARD drive replacement

    Hi all

Ive currently got my moms Satellite Pro A10 sitting in front of me. Wouldn't load XP at all so I downloaded Knoppix and ran the liveCD on the laptop. After some tests, it seems that the HARD drive has failed.

    The vehicle currently has a 30GB HDD (MK3021GAS HDD2182 B ZE01 T) with a rated output DC + 5V 0. 7A.

Told me that any HARD drive would work so I ordered a replacement of 100 GB of Fuji, except its a little too long to drive HARD case and it seems to be the cause of my power light flashes orange. Rated power on it is + 5V 0.55 a.

Im stuck, what do I do?

    Hello

    > told me that any HARD drive would work as well
It is not quite correct! There are material limitations.

I discovered that the phone supports 20 GB; 30 GB; 40 GB and possibly a 60 GB HARD drive.
I m not 100% sure of more HARD drive sizes due to the limitation of the BIOS.
You should know that not all HARD drive sizes are recognized by the BIOS.

Further, you should take a look at the supported interface.
The laptop supports an Enhanced IDE (ATA-5) interface and that's why you should buy a HARD drive that require this kind of hardware specification.

Now, new Board of Directors recognizes the input DC and recharged the battery OK. Tried to turn on the laptop but terrible mistake INPUT #0. Concluded that the HARD drive had also been damaged. Hello

As much as I know there is no different hard disks and your use of the same laptop as most other Toshiba laptops. I can just write that this error is certainly resulting HARD disk problem. The HARD drive is obviously not identified by BIOS correctly.

Sorry but I have no more info on this subject. By the way: is the motherboard new or used one?

  • Satellite Pro A10 comes with: error IDE #0, PXE-E61media test failed

I recently bought a used Toshiba Satellite pro A10.
When I received it, it was working and being a noob I tried to install a network card and create a wireless network with my desktop using XP when it did not work I plugged my ethernet (from my desktop) cable on the laptop and flashed upwards with a small number can not? dll etc etc.

Now I unplugged the ethernet cable and when I try to boot my laptop it comes up with:

    "ERROR IDE #0".
    Intel (r) bootagent, FE v4.1.09
    Copyright 1997-2002 Intel Corp.
PXE - E61: Media test failed, check that the cables
PXE - M0F: Exit Intel Boot Agent
    Insert system disk in drive
    Press any key ".

    HI Tom,

The error message that you receive indicate that your laptop is trying to start the connection to the LAN rather than from his own hard drive or a CD-ROM. I suggest that you verify that the boot sequence is specified correctly in your BIOS, or alternatively, you can press F12 during your market and you should get the boot device menu sequence appears so that you can specify that you want to boot from your hard drive.

  • Question about BIOS for Satellite Pro A10 files

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 and later yesterday, he won't, he past the TOSHIBA start screen and then black with a flashing cursor, it didn't leave me in advanced settings or the settings of the BIOS, a friend told me I need to Flash BIOS, I came across the site and found only a BIOS update and management told me to use the floppy drive , he said when I unzip the file I get an .exe file which I opened and it will give me three files, one for the CD ROM, one for the floppy drive and the third I don't remember, but it didn't happen, when I unzipped the files in a temporary folder, but I never had the files.

I think I had to have it on my own laptop, and then it would be extracted properly, because my laptop does not work I can't do and even if I put the files on a disk, they are too big.

    Then...

Where can I get the files from the BIOS that I can put on a floppy disk and then I can boot from that disk and it will fix the BIOS?

    Thank you

    Hello

    OK, follow these steps:

Burn the file bios to CD on a CD, boot from it and update your bios. It's a simple and easy way. I Don t understand why it shouldn´t work, given that I ve updated my bios in the same way. I burned the image to CD and booted from this CD.

Please answer perhaps you just made a mistake when you think to (I sometimes do too much, not often, but it happens..)  :)

  • SD-C2612 IDE #1 error after wrong firmware update - Satellite Pro A10

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10, which was flashed with wrong firmware (I don't know which because I don't).

I tried flashing with the right firmware (1315) but get the message to the Primary Master and Slave as "Not ATAPI Device" and "drive not connected".

NB: at the start, even with the deleted DVD ROM, I always get the #1 error IDE.

Update the bios to the latest version would help or is there all the options open for me to solve this problem other than to have recourse to the connection of pin 47 & 45? Would it even solves?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

    Best regards
    Angus

    > I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10, which was flashed with wrong firmware (I don't know which because I don't).

Lol :D I have don t wonder you get the IDE #1 error message.
As you say yourself, you have flashed the drive with the wrong firmware. This has damaged the master/slave/c-salt settings of readers and so the BIOS doesn't recognize the CD/DVD drive. But I wonder why someone flashing the drive with a bad firmware?  :| We still know that a wrong firmware can damage the CD/DVD drive... and above all it is not necessary to update the firmware.

    > Update the bios to the latest version would help
The BISO update will not help you because you have already good BIOS and it s NOT a problem of BIOS, but the evil and not compatible firmware is stored.

    > or are there options open for me to solve this problem other than to have recourse to the connection of pin 47 & 45? Would it even solves?
I'm don't know if this helps, but I know that it is not desirable because it may damage the material of CD/DVD players

I recommend you contact the ASP in your country guys might revive the CD/DVD drive. Let's hope

  • How to install the adapter wireless network in Satellite Pro A10

I'm trying to set up a wireless connection with my Satellite Pro A10. I thought it was active wireless, but when I switch the wireless switch, no light comes on and there is no card listed under network adapters wireless (so I guess not).

Is it easy to install a wireless adapter (i.e. can I do it myself or I must be done by a professional)? Can anyone recommend what card I should by (or any other that I should avoid)?

    Thank you.

    Hello

According to the specification of the specifications your A10 Pro Satellite is WLAN ready. In notebook specification it has listed two compatible WIFI cards:
    PA3212U-4MPC (Agere 802. 11b) and PA3273U-2MPC (802. 11a / b).

I don't really know if you can use some faster wireless network cards with the g standard. You may be lucky and someone will post here results update WLAN card.

I'm not sure 100% where the WLAN slot is placed but check it please under the lid placed close to the battery.

Hello I just bought a Toshiba Satellite pro A10 psa15e-03u82-en of second hand and I'm having trouble with the wireless option. This computer is equipped with a built-in wireless card?
The light on the switch doesn't switch on when on is selected and there is no wireless option in Device Manager.
But if you go to the support page for driver download at the web site of Toshiba drivers for wireless utilities!
Is the map or can it be mounted under a removable hatch on the base of the laptop?
Any help will be greatly appreciated a lot

    Hello

the problem is that wireless is delivered optionally with this machine. This means that the machine does MUST NOT have wireless but can be equipped or bought with the wireless option added.

You can only do the following: you can get a mini-pci wireless card (I suggest atheros, gently work cards in almost all machines) or you take the PCMCIA wireless card, so Don t you have nothing to install ON your machine.

In the case of a mini-pci card, you can improve your machine by removing a cover on the bottom (should be more on the front of the machine) and then put the card carefully into the slot. And CAREFULLY stick antenna that plugs into the connectors on the Board. They cable cannot be repaired if you damage one of them.

It would be better to look for a technician and allow it to install the card. I think it should be much safer. ;)

  • Satellite Pro A10 - where to find the drivers

    Hello

I have an A10 Pro Satellite I am trying to set up for a Christmas gift for my daughter, but I'm unable to do to go on line.

I was told that I need the drivers for it.
I was looking at this forum and I went to the download page mentioned in the discussions I've read.

I tried to fill in the form to identify the drivers I need, but I was not able to find the good ones, as I can't find the model in the menu drop down it returns a lot of possible drivers. I downloaded a few of them on a flash drive and tried to download on the Toshiba laptop, but with no joy.

Please can someone help me identify the correct drivers that I need to help me configure the laptop?
Sorry to be so dence but his father and I don't know anything to do a laptop internet ready.

    Hello

The drivers for this laptop are on the European driver Toshiba page.
This book belongs to a series of older and so you can find the drivers in the area of the ARCHIVE.

    Check this box:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/-> support download &-> download drivers

    Here, you have to choose:
    Archive-> Satellite Pro-> A-> Satellite Pro A10 Satellite Pro

You can connect this laptop to the router using the LAN port.

I m not very well if you'll be able to connect the laptop to the router using the WiFi because that card WLan was optional on this laptop and possibly there is no WLan card.

If you want to check if the wireless card is installed, then you should check the device-> maps network manager
LAN and WLan card must be registered.

  • Satellite Pro A10 - CD/DVD drive - updated?

I have an A10 and a few remnants of the A15 which I cannibalise the parts.
The A10 has DVD playback only, while the A15 motorway had features of reading / writing DVD.

Desperately the A10 BIOS does not recognize the A15 CD/DVD drive.
Anyone know if it is possible to obtain this recognition - could I swap chips BIOS with the A15 for example?

This machine is my toy and I have it running with a Pentium 4 M 2.4 GHz and 1 GB of ram (frustrating it does not accept the sticks of 1 GB!).

It's a gift so if I break, well I'll be sad - but not heart broken...

    Hello
You can only use the BIOS that came out for the Satellite Pro A10 series and which is available on the Toshiba page.

But why you n t use a CD/DVD drive that is compatible with the model Satellite Pro A10?
The manual provides details on supported devices.
I found the user manual [here: http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/userman-en-20090121085356.zip]

On page 4-7 you will find info on the STRANGE devices supported by Pro A10
    -TEAC CD-224th CD-ROM drive
    -DW-224th drive TEAC CD-RW/DVD-ROM
    -Toshiba DVD - ROM SD-C2612

  • Upgrade CPU on Satellite Pro A10

    Hello

I have a PSA15E A10-IN running a celeron 2.0 chip. Anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the processor and if what chips it would take? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

In most cases, the upgrade of the CPU is not possible because of the BIOS and chipset restrictions.
But sometimes it is possible to use a different CPU, which is supported by the chipset.
I have no idea what chipset supports your laptop, but you can check this in the Device Manager or you could install some hardware diagnostic such as Sisoft SANDRA or Everest Home Edition software.

Then, you can view properties chipset Intel ARK on page for a list of compatible processors.

However, Satellite Pro A10 is very old and I doubt its value to upgrade the processor because you won't see a great performance.

  • Satellite Pro A10 - need information about upgrading RAM

    Dear members of Ant
Regarding the above machine: Please can someone advise:-how many slots memory has.
I think it's two but do not know.
Also size maximum memory can this module we have in this laptop please.
If it's 2 @ 1 GB per module, then we would have a total of 2 GB.

Is the standard hard drive on this computer, a hard drive of the laptop. Can I get out the small 20 GB one and replace it with a larger. for example 120 GB etc.

Thank you very much for your help.
    Ian

Satellite Pro A10 two memory locations are available. Laptop computer can manage with 1 GB of RAM and you can use two compatible PC2100 512 MB (PA3164U - 1 M 51) modules.

This old machine uses 2.5 HDD with old IDE connector. I found some info that it has been bundled with 20GB, 30GB and 40GB HDD. I think you can improve it with up to 100 GB HARD drive but just to be sure he has the same connector on the HARD drive.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.
For more information after the exact model number please.

    Hello

Usually, if you have a laptop wireless switch should have a wireless LAN card too. In your case I would try to install the driver. Then the WLAn card should appear correctly in Device Manager:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

If that doesn t work, you can try a BIOS update.

Are you running the factory settings or you have installed your own version of Windows?
