Satellite Pro A10 recovery disks fail to reinstall Win XP

My A10 Pro Sat operated happily running a system dual boot (XP and Mandriva) before a failure to start a day.
I've successfully used the Toshiba recovery disks and everything was OK for a year or two before the same problem reappeared.

Now the recovery disk Nr.1does not restores the system and the laptop turns off after appearing to run normally for about 20 seconds.

Restore the MBR and fitness by using a recovery disk Win 98 could not solve the problem.

Anyone has any ideas please?

> Now the Nr.1does recovery disk does not restore the system and the laptop turns off after appearing to run normally for about 20 seconds.

Sorry, but this sentence confuses me. What you mean under function normally? Start your laptop computer, enter BIOS settings and leave it with that. Laptop does turns off after a short time or what?

Maybe you should explain a little better what happens when you start your laptop.

    Hello world

I had to reinstall Win XP Home - which went well, however - now there is no sound and it says no audio device is installed. I tried to install the audio drivers on the Toshiba CD but they go as far as unpacking but then say "not installed" and Setup stops.

I went to www. support. Toshiba.com and follow the menu to identify which drivers to download? but there are several possibilities for the
Model A - 10 and I am not sure I have listed below models have.

What you mean? On the European driver Toshiba page, you will find only one series Satellite Pro A10.
Once again; Do you have a computer or a Sat Pro A10 laptop satellite A10?

There is a driver of sound for a portable Pro A10. This is a version of audio driver Analog Devices 5.12.01.3542.
If you are using XP SP2 please check the information provided on the page of the driver Tosh

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300 - recovery disk will reinstall Windows OS on the new HARD drive

Hard drive of my Satellite Pro A300 failed. It has now been replaced. I ordered a recovery disk.
This will allow me to reinstall Windows Vista OS that is installed initially?

Also, I get this message "BOOTMGR MISSING". The recovery disc will fix this problem too?
    Thanks in advance!

    > I ordered a recovery disk. This will allow me to reinstall Windows Vista OS that is installed initially?
    Yes. Without a doubt.

New HARD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS settings?
    If so avoid any problem.

Moreover, A300 works perfectly and much better with Win7 32 bit.

  • Satellite Pro A15 - Recovery CD fails to resolve the failure of windows startup

Windows crashed on this computer, and now, it fails to boot from the hard disk. The machine gets as much as allowing the choice of which drive to boot, but the recovery CD is unable to solve the problem, as it hangs on during an attempt to review/set partitions. I can get the recovery CD to launch and get used to MS - back. Then I can look at the files in a:, b: (connecting a USB floppy), c:, d:, and x: (recovery cd).

Any ideas on the restoration of the situation apparently not too seriously?

    Hey Buddy,

It of strange that recovery disk doesn t work because it contains a pre-tested picture to factory settings and normally it should always work.
If not the recovery disk is defective (striped) or it s a hardware malfunction

I think the best way to resolve this issue using an original disc of Microsoft. With this disc, you can also reinstall Windows.

  • Satellite Pro L10: Recovery disk is not available

    HELO,
I lost my disc of recovery for Toshiba Satellite Pro L10.
Service in Poland say my only: Toshiba do not have this disc now.
    am I to do now?

I need to reinstall my system.

Model number PSL15E-00x009PL, serial number 55016672W

    Sorry, my English is bad.

    Krzysiek

    Hello

It s very strange because this device is not very old, and as far as I know you can order all recover cd. Toshiba should always have a copy of the CD or DVD. I can t believe that it s is not possible.
I would recommend asking EPA again or to call other ASP in Poland.

The second possibility is to install the OS from the Microsoft CD-ROM, and then install the drivers set and tools of Toshiba.
Such Toshiba things you will find on the page of the Toshiba driver.

  • Satellite Pro M40 recovery disk install XP on satellite or L300?

I had a Satellite Pro M40 with XP Pro who died completely (hard drive). I have the recovery disk.

I now have two laptops more - a satellite and a L300, both with Vista. I want to install XP on one of them (preferably the L300). Is it possible to do using my M40 recovery disk?
A bit of googling suggests that the differences in the size of the hard disk - may be an obstacle. My M40 40 GB drive, these new drives are much larger.

Anyone tried this or have any advice?

It will not work. Before the start of the recovery procedure the laptop will be identified. If the recovery media doesn t code is code on the laptop, the installation will be interrupted.

M40 MS on L300 recovery no way.

  • Satellite Pro M70 recovery disk - where can I get a new one?

    Hi all.

I'm trying to help my friend to untangle its M70 that was severely marred by many pieces of adware, malware, trojans... you name it. It has very little installed or stored on it so a complete reinstallation seems to be the easiest option. However, we cannot find anywhere - reinstall drive probably lost/accidentally, it was ignored during a recent move of the House. Is there anywhere I can get another disc of recovery, or way to restore pc to factory without it?

    Advice would be much appreciated!

    Hello

The new system restore would be the best way to get rid of all these malware
Toshiba Recovery could be ordered in the ASP from Toshiba (certified partner) in your country.
But it might be only if the laptop series wouldn't be too old and abandoned.
In this case, you will need to use an original MS Windows disc to restore the operating system on the HARD drive. Toshiba drivers that are needed can be downloaded on the site.

Therefore, I recommend to take local contact with your ASP and ask if this disc is available or not.

  • Satellite Pro A10 hangs during the installation of Win XP

    Hi guys,.

just thouth I would ask why my new laptop will not install XP.
Only, it crashes during installation. No n' achete purchased on this occasion, had no operating system installed.

I wonder if it's a driver problem, using my xp disc I bought, but like I said that just, it will hang during installation.
What I need to intergrate drivers somehow?
I'm guessing that this is the problem?

    If so, how do I?

    see you soon

I really wonder that your new laptop is probably produced about 5 years ago. ;)

In any case, to install WXP use WindowsXP SP1 installations CD (factory settings). If you want to discuss a little more please explain to us what exactly is happening.

  • Satellite Pro A10 won't boot up - where to get the disks

I have a Satellite Pro A10 that currently does not start up Windows (XP) as it says

The following file is corrupted or damaged:
    C:\windows\system32\config\system

Tools & Utilities CD that came with my laptop has unfortunately been scratched and will not start.
I have two system recovery disks, which are very good.

    My questions:

    1. is it possible to buy a replacement Tools & Utilities CD-Rom?
    2. If Yes, where to go?
    3. is there a way to restore my laptop without having to reinstall everything completely and lose all my files?

    Thank you

    With regard to the point;

    (a) generally, it should be possible to order the CD of tools & utilities but I ask why?
    (b) you can buy the CD of the ASP in your country
    (c) the older recovery CD is supported by an expert mode. You can use this mode to choose the partition where the OS is to be installed. In this case only, this partition will be formatted.

But look, man. You do not need to order the CD tools & utilities because on this CD, you will only find the Toshiba drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba page too.

  • Satellite Pro A10: Extraction failure error occurs during my recovery procedure

Im trying to run recovery disks on my Satellite Pro A10 but after 20 seconds trying to install recovery disc 1 gose black screen and message in corner says extraction failed.

    Can you help me please?

Have you tried to format and delete partitions on HARD drive integers before performing the installation from the recovery CD?

Something similar happened to me. I wasn't able to install the OS from the recovery CD.
I simply used the original Windows CD and you have formatted the whole HARD drive.
After this procedure the recovery CD installation worked a lot.

  • Satellite Pro A10 comes with: error IDE #0, PXE-E61media test failed

I recently bought a used Toshiba Satellite pro A10.
When I received it, it was working and being a noob I tried to install a network card and create a wireless network with my desktop using XP when it did not work I plugged my ethernet (from my desktop) cable on the laptop and flashed upwards with a small number can not? dll etc etc.

Now I unplugged the ethernet cable and when I try to boot my laptop it comes up with:

    "ERROR IDE #0".
    Intel (r) bootagent, FE v4.1.09
    Copyright 1997-2002 Intel Corp.
PXE - E61: Media test failed, check that the cables
PXE - M0F: Exit Intel Boot Agent
    Insert system disk in drive
    Press any key ".

    HI Tom,

The error message that you receive indicate that your laptop is trying to start the connection to the LAN rather than from his own hard drive or a CD-ROM. I suggest that you verify that the boot sequence is specified correctly in your BIOS, or alternatively, you can press F12 during your market and you should get the boot device menu sequence appears so that you can specify that you want to boot from your hard drive.

    Kind regards

  • Drive recovery lost for Satellite Pro A10

I have, I lost the recovery disk 2 for my Satellite Pro A10.

Can someone help me a find or know where I can buy one please?

You are lucky, then you can order the Toshiba ASP in your country.
But it is also possible that this disc is no longer available because the unit is a little older.

    Good bye
