  • Satellite Pro A300 crashes with white screen

I have a Satellite Pro A300, AMD processor, Vista, ATI graphics card.

The system worked fine for a year, but there are a few months, he started crashing, the screen went white, not blue, whatever it be running, like music, stopped. This can occur after several hours or minutes, or even if he is re-start. All my software is up-to-date, Microsoft and Toshiba. I rebuilt my system from scratch and the symptoms came back.

At first I thought that this could be a heat problem, but I followed this but I don't think that's it. It crashed seconds after leaving standby mode when it has not had a chance to warm up.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hey Buddy,

Theoretically, it might be an overheating problem so the screen became due white built in overheating protection...

You should try to clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow the dust of fans cooling and, therefore, it of not necessary to disassemble the laptop.

    Hello

In general the BSOD is a product of hardware or software problem.
So it's not easy to say exactly what's wrong.

    Display only the questions;
Have you tried a fresh install of the OS?
You update all drivers (especially the graphics card driver)?
Your BIOS is up to date?
Have you noticed a higher internal temperature?
The cooling modules are free of dust?

    Please check first!

  • Satellite Pro A300 - blue snow on screen

After about 20 months trouble free operation, my Satellite Pro A300 has developed an intermittent failure annoyingly screen appears where a scattering of blue pixels, most noticeably on a white background. Generally any form of action (including a proverbial "click") clears the screen until the next time it happens.

Any idea what's going on? Any help appreciated.

    > Generally any form of action (including a proverbial "click") clears the screen until the next time it happens.
Means that they are not dead pixels or something like that in this case, it could be a graphics related issue.
Have you tested this external monitor? Pixels appear on the second screen?
If so, then this might be a GPU question

But you can also check if an update of the driver can be useful of course the old driver must be uninstalled and then the new driver update must be installed.

However, it smells like a hardware problem, so I'm not sure if a driver update that would improve

  • Error device basic system for my Satellite Pro A300

    Laptop = Satellite Pro A300
    Platform = Visa PS2

In my device manager, I have two errors.

Under "Other devices", mean "Base system device".
Under the heading hardware ID, one says:

    PCI VEN_1180 & DEV_0592 & SUBSYS_FF1C1179 & REV_12
    PCI VEN_1180 & DEV_0592 & SUBSYS_FF1C1179

    PCI VEN_1180 & DEV_0843 & SUBSYS_FF1C1179
    PCI VEN_1180 & DEV_0843 & CC_088000
    PCI VEN_1180 & DEV_0843 & CC_0880

I believe it has something to do with my card reader.
Can someone direct me to the right web site, use the drivers?

    Here's a nice page:
    http://www.PCIDatabase.com/

You can find the details of PCI devices.
    FRI means seller
    DEV: device

    FRI 1180 = Ricoh
DEV 0592 = Ricoh Memory Stick Controller

So the case is clear: he controller s card reader.

    I recommend reinstalling the driver.

  • Satellite M30: Blue error screen - how to diagnose what it is?

I have a hardware problem, but I'm not sure of the exact nature. Even if I look like the hard drive or something to communicate with her.
About two weeks ago, I started to notice performance problems when loading something from the internal hard drive: overall function of the computer (such as the movement of the mouse, mp3 playback) became embarrassed when the hard drive was loading (economy was less of a problem).

This was NOT the case when loading data or execution of programs from a disk usb external hard. Today, I got a blue screen informing me that this accident was probably due to new hardware or software, followed by a physical memory dump and a severe judgment. I restarted the computer, but had the same problem after the login screen.

Trying to boot into safe mode does not work either and after some tests it never got to the login screen more - a few seconds after the beginning of boot there was a flash of a screen blue, followed by an immediate halt.
In any case, I used the recovery dvd - rom product but the problem is still there, which means that I can start now but I get the same blue screen every hour at least (seems to correlate with usage).

Instead of running off to buy a new hard drive I want to be sure this is the problem (alone), and not a problem of motherboard or what have you.

Where my question: how I can diagnose what's wrong with my laptop?

    Hello

Well, if you n t have no experience in hardware or laptops so it of not easy to locate the fault.
As jmatthews says you can try to check the Blue error screen. If you google around you will find also information about this error massage.

    Hello

The problem is that your laptop supports the SATA HDD controller but the system OS does not contain the SATA drivers
You can assign in the compatible SATA mode BIOS.
This allows you to install the operating system without installation of the SATA drivers.

    Welcome them
