• Satellite Pro A60: hinges are broken - need new parts

  I have a satellite Pro A60, unfortunately no longer under warranty. One of the screws which fix the hinges to the frame has sheared which means the hinge must be replaced.

  When I removed the top cover (it covers a bunch of inches at the back of the laptop, I noticed the two hinges were cracked.) This allows the hinge of the left hand to oscillate (as the only thing now that the screen of the laptop is the only one to live.

  Basically the two hinges need to be replaced because the only thing now the screen of the laptop (on the right side) is the clip on the cover! It works pretty well, but of course it will put additional pressure on the left side then, probably won't be too long prior to the screw on the left side shears off.

  any kind soul here would know the numbers for the left and right hinges?

If Youre spec. on the computer it's a wireless card you comp. is shurely is the case. Try also look on the front and on the cover just below the screen, look for a symbol that looks like an antenna or something like that. Probably its not active, you shurely a symbol on the keyboard or on the case at the front who is having the same symbol "antenna". The symbol keyboard are enabled by a "FN" and press symbol keybord, if the swthc is on the front or somewhere else, just return it. Good luck!

  Check please if the HARD drive is recognized correctly. Enter the BIOS settings and see if the HARD drive is listed there.

  I have a Satellite Pro A60 and when I turn on the machine, the lights come on and the fan whirls for about 5 seconds and then the machine just turns off again.

  No matter if I have the battery or HARD drive in or not, the same phenomenon occurs.
  I guess it's problem of CPU or power supply Board, but I don't know.
  Is there anyone else who has had this problem and if so how is it resolved?

  If there is something wrong with the power supply for laptop card then the cell phone would not turn on, even for 5 sec.

  But it's only my personal suggestion to make sure what's exactly wrong check specifications should be necessary.

  Sorry I can't give you specific information about the cooling fan. A60 is known to me. It's a very nice laptop. Cooling vent is in reverse I am a pretty that there is no background noise.

  If you make the decision to buy it, look at what the capacity of the HARD drive is too high and that the DVD-ROM can burn a lot of different formats (DVD Super Multi drive).
