• Satellite Pro A60 does not illuminate

  When I try to boot my Toshiba Satellite Pro A60, seems to be powered. A few seconds later, there is a click and it cuts.

  I tried to turn on the computer with just the power supply with the battery removed, just with no power supply and battery and power, but none of these options are making a difference.

  Turn the laptop over and unscrew the cover on the ram. Then remove the ram and try to turn it on again. If it lights, put the piston inside the laptop and try again. It does not turn on? Then your ram is dead. If yes then you can replace, or have your asp replace it. If this does not resolve the problem, there is a small plastic cover that runs along the keyboard just above the keyboard. Take this off and then unscrew the fixing screws to the bottom of the keyboard. Under the keyboard, you may have a second RAM slot. If Yes, try to remove the RAM stick and turn. It work? If this isn't the case, you probably have a problem with the motherboard. If it lights fine, then you have found the issue and can replace or continue using it without the extra RAM.   I've tried several brands of DVD - R, but also blank discs DVD + R on my Satellite Pro A60, but very few of them are even recognized.

  Pioneer DV - RW DVR - K13A is supposed to work correctly when I check the Properties tab.

  I tried to watch upodates but frmwre - na .zip was not allowed to work, the D drive was not considered appropriate...

  What exactly do you mean? Is the drive does not support content or there is problem if you want to burn data on DVD-R media?

  Just FYI: I use the empty media TDK almost 5 years and I can say that TDK is very good for this kind of things.

  I have a Satellite Pro A60 and when I turn on the machine, the lights come on and the fan whirls for about 5 seconds and then the machine just turns off again.

  No matter if I have the battery or HARD drive in or not, the same phenomenon occurs.
  I guess it's problem of CPU or power supply Board, but I don't know.
  Is there anyone else who has had this problem and if so how is it resolved?

  Any help would be appreciated very with gratitude that I am out of warranty and need the laptop when you work from home.

  I guess it can be a single processor or card mother related issue.
  If there is something wrong with the power supply for laptop card then the cell phone would not turn on, even for 5 sec.

  But it's only my personal suggestion to make sure what's exactly wrong check specifications should be necessary.

  So I think that a laptop computer technician should check it out.

• Satellite Pro A60 - does not start

  My A60 will not start. The power supply is plugged with a green light on the power supply and the A60. The battery is full (light began in orange and is now green). Nothing happens when you press the power button.

  Tried to take the battery out and running on AC, but no change.

  Any ideas?

  HI Laurent,.

  Try to remove the battery and also diconnecting the AC power for a few minutes. Then re-install the battery and try to turn on the unit. If this does not work, then remove the battery and plug in the AC power. Again try to power on the device.

  If none of the above works then you will need to refer to a Service partner authorized to have the laptop checked.

• Satellite Pro A60 does not recognize the accept/DVDs blank

  My computer will not accept blank CD - R disc so I can burn data on them, but my computer will not accept blank DVD discs that I want to be able to use to store more data.

  In the drive of my computer D reads "DVD - RW", I guess so, but am not sure that this means that my pc should be usable with DVD-R and DVD - RW discs but it do not accepts / acknowledges these when I put a try to burn something on them.

  My computer also does not accept / recognize DVD + R Virgin discs as I have tried those, just in case they might work.

  Have you also tried to burn DVD-R discs?
  I had also some problems with DVD + R discs, so I changed to a DVD-R and since all works well! :)

  I don't use Windows Media Player to burn discs, I use CD Burner XP. It is a freeware tool, very small and fast. It works on most versions of Windows, and you should try it too!

  Also check the Toshiba page for an update of the firmware!

  I turned off my computer Friday, I went back to his Monday - and it won't start. I thought that the config.sys file is missing or damaged.

  I tried all the usual methods - safe mode, last known good setting, OS etc, but none of it works. The computer does not recognize that the recovery CD is in the drive, either.

  As I don't have an original installation CD - the computer was shipped with the software already installed - I can't try either.

  I want especially to recover the entire system, but if I have to, I can live with that. Any suggestions would be welcome.

  Have you tried to boot your PC and press C after POST message? Recovery CD to be inserted.
  This C command forces the laptop to boot from ODD first.

  Maybe it works for you.

  Why use this product key?

  Firstly the Toshiba recovery image is already enabled and you don t need this key more activations.

  Second, it's an OEM key and it will not work with other versions of Vista!

• Why Satellite Pro A300 does not start when you press the power button?

  Suddenly my new Satellite Pro A300 does not start correctly when you press the power button.   Try this procedure. After restarting the OS should recognize the drive again.

  I have the following problem:

  A Satellite Pro 4320 will not feed, DC-in light is on (green), with inserted (quite old) battery, the quickly flashes orange, (charge of compensation, according to manual) battery. If I press the power button / stop, DC-In goes off for half a second and turns on, that of all, nothing else happens.
  The power supply is 15V 4Amps one correct, I load tested it works and provides all the power, according to the specifications. It does not matter if the battery is inserted or not.

  Now the question: is this a battery problem or there is a problem with the entrails of laptops (internal DC converter)? Normally, your laptop should work on the included power supply.

  You're absolutely right, mate. All cell phones work with power supply only, theoretically, a battery is not necessary. That's only important if you want to work without power, otherwise laptop mobile working with power supply only. No battery is needed.

  So my personal opinion it of a card mother dysfunction :(

  If this isn't the case, then this means that the HARD drive is faulty.
  Try to replace the HDD with a compatible and try again.

  Insert the DVD Toshiba recovery in optical disc drive,

  My Satellite Pro C650 boot not beyond a certain point. I tried to start in all modes different for example safe mode, mode of networking,

  I think you need professional help with this problem. I don't know if your laptop is always guaranteed to be valid, but in my opinion, you should contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider and ask for help. They have special diagnostic tools and hardware malfunction can be detected and repaired.
