  • Satellite Pro L300 - white screen after login

Hi, got a laptop off a friend to watch as not start correctly. Vista Edition running Home Premium, it will start up the screen of the user ok but when a user is selected the screen goes white with just the mouse pointer showing (which moves ok on the touchpad). I can press Ctrl Alt Delete and get the blue menu screen - if I try the Task Manager with it it goes back to the white screen.

I tried a repair of end upward to F8 but said no problems found. I can also start ok in Mode safe without getting a white screen. I tried a high diagnostic of MSConfig startup but still the same. I also disabled all services but still a Virgin.

I have a secondary partition on the disk with the recovery of HARD drive there, but do not want to reformat. I tried to restore to several different, but restore points remains empty at the normal start screen.
Someone at - it find it.

    Hello

    Its hardware problem or software.
Start the laptop in safe mode means that some essential software process would be disabled and the system would use only a few basics of essential equipment.

So even if the laptop runs correctly in safe mode, it could be a hardware problem.

That's why I think only with the help of HARD drive recovery would be the best way to know what's wrong here...

  • Satellite Pro A60: Blue error screen

I got my satellite pro A60 laptop for about 6 months and, recently, a blue screen started flashing up to white writing scrolling down really fast and then the laptop restarts. I don't have the time to read what says the writing of this article. Can someone give me advice on what this could be and how to solve the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Well, the simple is to reinstall the operating system. But if you wish, you can disable the function of Windows Xp to automatically read this massage of error on reboot.
Go to system in Control Panel. Then the Advanced tab. In the announcement of the Startup Recovery section press set button. You need to disable the option automatically reboot.
But it of very difficult to understand the error blue screen for ordinary users.

    Good bye

  • Same screen on 2 different Satellite Pro A60?

    Hello world

I want to change the screen on a Satellite Pro A60 P4-532, I can get a screen from another satellite pro A60, but having another reference (it's a celeron 2.8), will this work of screen on my laptop?

    Thanks for any information

First you shouldn´t change some components of your machine when not you´re 10000% that they adapt because you may seriously damage the system.

And to give you an answer: you must try it yourself, or you get a few spare part lists somewhere. But I guess get a partslist would be difficult since it is especially for technicians and service partners.

You can try it on the site but I can't promise you find something:

  • Satellite Pro A60 - screen 'dead '.

Hi all, hope you can help.

I have a Satellite Pro A60. I stopped as usual, the other night, when I turned on the machine the next morning, he made all the usual noises, but no screen - just empty (black). I can connect to an external display and it works perfectly, so I know it's just the screen.

I took it to a local repair place and they asked if I had given up and said that she needed a new screen, 180 lbs please. Thought I'd take the first tips. Certainly, it has not been abandoned or suffered trauma, in fact it barely moves away from my place of work.

Would it be a fuse or something similar, or screens just die and I'm going to need a new? If she needs a new screen, where can I buy one and it's easy to fit/connect?

    Thank you very much

    Sharon

    Hello Sharon

I'm really sorry to hear you have such a problem. As already wrote kody, check please if you can see a small image on the screen. If so, there is problem with FL inverter. It is the component of small material placed under the screen and it offers the backlight.

OK, to buy the new screen is not a problem. You'll find maybe used one and it will be much cheaper than a new one. Replacement is no problem, but this must be done after the disassembly procedure. Talk with your friends. Maybe someone can help you with this.

  • Satellite Pro A60 does not

When I start my Satellite Pro A60 I get the Toshiba screen, then it goes to a white screen and nothing else happens. I tried to remove the battery, disconnect it from the socket without success.

I turned on the laptop and you press F12, but nothing happens, occasionally strange after the Toshiba screen, there will be a black screen with the words "Checking boot CD-rom" in the upper left corner and then nothing happens.

Does anyone have any suggestions? If so could you please email me at [email protected]
    Thank you

    Hello

Check please if the HARD drive is recognized correctly. Enter the BIOS settings and see if the HARD drive is listed there.

You can also try to set the BIOS to the default settings and try using recovery media to see if the recovery procedure starts correctly (if the HARD drive is recognized properly).

  • Satellite Pro A60-138 PSA65E - cannot boot from c WEIRD

    Hello
I bought this laptop on ebay, with no cd or manual.

    Satellite Pro A60 GR
    MODEL PSA65E-01K032GR NUMBER

    Hard drive is formatted.
I tried to install xp, because I start the laptop it just says: "control system.
Then press [F1]. "If I press F1, it tries to read the cd and gives up after a few seconds.

If there is no cd in the cd drive there simply nothing.
I tried to start the bios menu but everything works,(F12,F8,del) key.

Is there something I can do?
installing drivers or anything like that?

    Hello

In order to access the BIOS please press F2, then ESC.
This should load the BIOS and you can change the boot order there.

In addition, you can press F12 at the beginning.
This will allow the menu on the screen where you can choose the STRANGE as a source of start-up.

But are you able to boot from another CD?
The CD/DVD drive is unable to read the disc, and therefore the boot process fails

You could also burn this disc Win XP on another CD and could use the new disk to the start I did with my old laptop because the CD/DVD drive didn't read the old CD.

  • Satellite Pro A60 - recovery question

I tried to do a cover of product on a satellite pro A60

I put in discs 1 and 2 according to the instructions and everything seems to work ok.
Then tells me to remove the recovery media and restart the computer using ctrl alt del

It restarts and goes through toshiba screen and on the screen of windows xp... then a blue screen that says please wait while windows prepares to start... then on windows xp with a saying of hourglass professional screen, please wait. Nothing else happens.

It does nothing else, we left it for 3 hours today and it didn't go past this screen.

Everyone knows it or can give me some tips on how to make the laptop still works?

I installed windows and the Toshiba Recovery many times and I didn't noticed this problem on any of my books.
I remember that once my Windows installation operating system has failed. I put t know why
But I just formatted my HARD disk, erase all partitions and started the installation again! The procedure is completed successfully and portable started in the Win XP operating system.

You must understand you problem could be linked to the software only or the operation of the equipment (HARD drive?)

One question; have you used the recovery CD Toshiba compatible? I read repeatedly on similar problems, and finally the wrong recovery CD was the reason for start-up/installation problems.

Make sure that sue you the good CD and then I would recommend repeat the installation of the OS.

    Good bye

  • Cannot start WXP installed on my Satellite Pro A60

    Hello

I just got a Satellite Pro A60 of second hand. He had installed xp pro, but I did have no password. , so I formatted the drive and made two partitions. There are 30 GB and the other approximately 7 GB.

I tried to install a WXP Pro copy that has worked for me before, but he would not complete the installation. Now, I have a Toshiba Recovery disk. When I use the recovery CD, the installation goes fine, but when its full and restarts, the laptop does not start in Windows.

He comes to Toshiba screen twice then WXP logo appears for a moment about 10 seconds or more, then go back to the f8 screen. Last time, he said it could be due to a hardware change with these lists of 'safe mode' options, safe mode with command prompt mode implementation network, security, last known good configuration. I tried all the but still cannot boot into windows.

The hard drive has the files I used l-soft active@killdisk unerasor tools, change password and partition Viewer, I could see the file system of windows etc. Laptop has 512 MB RAM, 40 GB drive HARD, Celeron.

I just updated the bios to V1.90 by CD-ROM. Please can someone help me?
    Thank you

    Hello

You have installed the operating system from the recovery CD Toshiba but have you used the original Toshiba comes with this laptop recovery CD?

The BSOD appears mainly due to hardware failure or the software flaw serious
The Toshiba Recovery CD contains all the drivers needed and tools, but if you use a recovery CD badly the pre-installed drivers can cause the error and BSOD could appears.

However if some hardware like the memory module or the graphics card is damaged the BSOD are included also.

  • ATI error and no windows - Satellite Pro A60

    Hello

When I start my computer, I get a blue error screen c0000415
A quick google reveals that this is one of these: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832324

"So what are you bothering? I hear you cry - the problem I have is, in getting this error of the other (also the ATI card based) I stuck my red disc in and erased everything - including the windows... and CFLA error occurs before windows installs and SafeMode (-that worked perfectly before) does not work because windows is not installed!

    Oh the fun.

"I think it's a hardware error" - Yes so don't I... However, before the reinstall and get it back, I could work to the computer in safe mode and videos played very well with the resolution and full color. Am I missing the point if I think a video work is an indicator of a working video card?

I admit that I'm perplexed indeed. I'll try to dig up an old Windows 98 drive, but I don't know how much this will help, because the only copy of XP I have is on the recovery disk... [Return to step 1]

Any suggestions much appreciated - thanks in advance...

    [it's a satellite pro A60 w / 256 +?] RAM, processor celeron 2.8 Ghz, ATI Mobility Radeon 7000 etc...]

    Hello

As suggested in document of Microsoft this problem can occur if an ATI Radeon 7200 graphics card has been installed on your computer and the driver that is supplied with this adapter may not work correctly with Windows XP.
The installation of SP2 should help.

This statement of Ms. says it all! It of not a hardware problem but it is a compatibility issue with Windows XP (without SP2) and the driver radeon ATI 7200.

You should try to get an original CD of Windows XP with or without SP2.
The software callednLiteallows you to create a Windows clean boot CD and add the patches MS and service packs for this CD.

Then, you can try to boot this CD and after installing the OS, you need to update or change the graphics driver!

  • Satellite Pro A60: hinges are broken - need new parts

I have a satellite Pro A60, unfortunately no longer under warranty. One of the screws which fix the hinges to the frame has sheared which means the hinge must be replaced.

When I removed the top cover (it covers a bunch of inches at the back of the laptop, I noticed the two hinges were cracked.) This allows the hinge of the left hand to oscillate (as the only thing now that the screen of the laptop is the only one to live.

Basically the two hinges need to be replaced because the only thing now the screen of the laptop (on the right side) is the clip on the cover! It works pretty well, but of course it will put additional pressure on the left side then, probably won't be too long prior to the screw on the left side shears off.

any kind soul here would know the numbers for the left and right hinges?

The model name is the model Satellite Pro A60EN PSA65E 00N00WEN number.

    Hello

All parts can be ordered from the Toshiba service partner in your country.

I studied a little bit in the net, but don t found part numbers.
However, to ask guys ASP. They should know what part is compatible

  • Memory should what upgrade I buy for my Satellite Pro A60?

Hi, I have a Satellite Pro A60 PSA65E, who currently has 192 MB of RAM and 2.8 GHz Celeron processor.

My problem came when I tried to install Adobe Creative Suite 2 on it, but it would not allow me to do so because he needed 384 MB of RAM to run it. I was wondering if someone could tell me what RAM upgrade is compatible with my machine and if it inserted in another port or if I have to get out the old and replace?

    Thank you
    Donald

    Hello

your laptop is 256 MB internal memory, I'm not sure why it shows only 192 MB. This internal memory can be replaced only by a technician. But you also have a currently unused memory slot, in which you can place a maximum of 1024 MB of RAM.

Here are the modules from Toshiba lets you:
    PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 1 M 25)
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

    Good bye
