Satellite Pro L100 - Question about BIOS password reset

Hello

I have problems with an old satellite L100 to request the password from the bios, which we do not know.

I saw there are different ways of short connections to work around this problem, but I can't find anything about this particular model and none of the information I've seen applies to this motherboard.

Can someone please help and direct me to what pins needs a short circuit on the laptop to be able to re - use this equipment.

Many thanks in advance,

Chris

The password of BIOS bad new buddy is a kind of security mechanism that cannot be removed easily. The unknown BIOS password can be deleted only authorized Toshiba service
This is why you must contact the ASP in your country to remove

    Hello

Are you sure that you have set the BIOS password?
If you set the BIOS password then the laptop would request the password before it would start in Windows Vista.

I think that set you the password of the user or supervisor password!

In Toshiba Assist-> Secure you could erase that two passwords too.
    Please check this!

  • Cannot exceed on Satellite Pro L450D-12 X BIOS password screen

A friend gave me a laptop to watch. His windows password was not recognized. She asked me to perform a password reset. I tried to get into the BIOS to change the boot order and requested a password. My friend doesn't know the BIOS password.

Than trying to get into the BIOS, whenever I start the laptop, it always goes to BIOS password entry screen. How to start windows log on screen and he asks me the bypass BIOS password?

The laptop model is satellite pro L450D - 12 X

    > How to start the windows log on screen and he asks me the bypass BIOS password?
BIOS password is very important security feature and you cannot bypass so simply.
To be honest, to discuss this topic on the public forum is pretty crazy, isn't it?

Each notebook stolen with BIOS password would be easy to start and data would be not protected at all.

It is unwise to chat about it. In any case, BIOS password can be removed by only authorized personnel, so contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and they will help you with this.

  • Satellite Pro A10: Question about upgrade HARD drive

I want a bigger hard drive, but xp home edition preinstalled. If I change the hard drive I don't think that the recovery disc would work to re install xp. How can I do this without having to buy a new version of windows? Oh, it's a portable satellite pro spa10.

Sorry, but why you are suggesting that the recovery CD will not recognize the new HARD drive?
The fact is that if the BIOS will recognize the new HARD drive then you will have no problem for the recovery and the installation of the OS.

If you want to upgrade the HARD drive, you must use a compatible. Then everything simply initialize-towards the top of the recovery CD and the operating system will install on the new HD disc.

  • Satellite Pro 4600: Question about upgrade RAM, CPU, motherboard

    Hello

I have a SP4600 and because I love this machine, I want to give him the chance to stay with me - but unfortunately, it will only work by increasing its performance...

Is anyone here has made some experiences in upgrading a SP4600 more than 512 MB of RAM?
I know that this machine uses PC100 SD - RAM that is available up to 256 MB.
But someone has tried successfully to put in PC133 memory? And if so, to were the limit?

And more: what about the upgrade of the rest, for example, the CPU or the whole motherboard?
Currently, his heart beats with 700 Mhz (Celeron). Would it be as easy as just another graft?
Or would it be easier to exchange the whole motherboard?
I've never done anything like this before and I'm not sure how the rest of the system can react on these interventions, in particular because the we-board-video and sound on board...

I would be delighted if someone could give me some positive feedback on these issues...

    Hello

You can only use the memory 100 Mhz modules because the FSB is limited to 100 MHz.
If you use 133 Mhz modules, they will work only at 100 Mhz.

You can upgrade the satellite Pro 4600 until 512 MB (2x256MB)

Other devices such as the CPU or GPU are not extensible and the motherboard may be replaced only with the same motherboard

Finally, you should know that the laptop technology is a little different and you can't compare it with any desktop computer. You can update some parts such as the memory or HARD drive, but that s all the

    Hi Dan,.

Unfortunately there is no way 'backdoor' to access your system without the BIOS password. Most BIOS manufacturers install a 'default' password but they change it from time to time is not possible to say that one might have on your system (if any at all).

If you search Google for the BIOS reset password options you find many techniques described to bypass the BIOS password or even reset the CMOS completely chip, but the only way to truly guarantee to solve your problem is to take the laptop to an authorized Service partner who can reset the CMOS chip and re-flashing the BIOS. They generally need to see some evidence of property before they will do so.

  • Satellite Pro 2100: Question about upgrade HARD drive

    Hello
ICH have a Satellite Pro 2100 with a capacity of 40 GB HDD. Now I want wo upgrate with a 100 GB or 120 GB HARD drive. Is it supported? Where is the upper limit of the capacity of support? Is there something I need to look out? Are there special attributes that am I looking for?

prior to thank you for your support

    Hello

It is very unlikely that the 100 or 120 GB HARD drive works.
I guess that the BIOS will not recognize these hard disks.
I don't officials documents found on the hard drives supported, but I think that the 60 GB HARD drive is the biggest HARD drive that works on the Satellite Pro 2100.

  • Satellite Pro L10: Question about saving the files on a CD

Please can someone tell me how I can save a typed document (produced in Word or similar) on the CD? I don't have a floppy drive on my satellite pro L10 portable. Have 'saved' music using the immediate recording before, but now need to record your actual work on the hard disk for transport to a pc with access to a printer.

When I tried it told me incorrect function, contact administrator (that's me!) I tried CD - R and CD - RW discs and neither would not let me save the file on it. would be grateful for any advice regarding this.

    Thank you

    Hi Roy,

First of all, you will ned to ensure that you have enabled logging on oprical drive you. For this a right-click on the CD-ROM in my computer icon and then selecting "properties-> recording. Make sure that "Enable CD writing on this drive" is checked.

Once you have done the above, you can simply drag the documents that you want to copy on the CD-ROM icon in my computer.

Note that the burning process does not happen immediately. Windows caches the files to be placed on your hard drive first and then you can burn all documents cached only once.

Alternatively, you may find that some third-party software has been bundled with your portable computer, which performs a similar function the standard Windows CD burn software.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite Pro A100: Question about vertical resolution

    Hello
I just bought a Satellite Pro A100 a few weeks ago. I'm pretty happy with it, with the exception of the vertical resolution. I'm used to the small fonts and large resolutions. Well, it seems that the A100 is not capable of displaying more than 800 pixels vertically. Is this true?

How can I run a vertical resolution greater than 800 pixels visible?

    Best regards
    George

    Hi George,.

I think the A100 supports a maximum resolution of 1280 X 800 on its internal screen but can support a resolution of 2048 X 1536 on an external monitor attached.

I don't think that you will be able to achieve a vertical resolution higher than 800 on the internal display.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite Pro A10: Question about upgrading video card

Hi guys, I have a laptop Satellite Pro A10 and I was wondering if anyone of you could help me.

I want to improve my Ram card memory and video. The video card now is an Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller and want a graphics card with at least 128 MB of memory on this subject.
    Any recommendation?
Any help would be appreciated muchly.

    Hello

It of not possible to change the graphics card. The graphics card is a small chip that attaches to the motherboard.
This graphics card supports up to 64 MB shared memory. The graphics card gets this value of main memory if it s needed.

The possibility to upgrade the memory of this device is something different.
You can upgrade the memory to max 1024 MB (2x512MB) and these modules should work.
    PC2100 128 MB (PA3126U - 1 M 12)
    PC2100 256 MB (PA3127U - 1 M 25)
    PC2100 512 MB (PA3164U - 1 M 51)

Hope this will help a little.

    Hi, Carlos

When you do the clean install of the OS, everything will be deleted, so my opinion is that you should remove all passwords before you start the installation of clean operating system.
unlock your laptop, install and configure the operating system and when the work is done to lock the laptop using passwords.

My laptop's for only mathematical modeling, and I don't want to connect to the Internet. If I have to deal with clause 13 I have to call the manufacturer and need to find the number.

    You re right, peter1234.

The activation of the preinstalled Windows version is already made by Toshiba. So nothing more to do. :)
