  I have problems with an old satellite L100 to request the password from the bios, which we do not know.

• Equium L10-300 - Question about BIOS password

  Hey all hope you can help a new user please.

  Had a customer to put in a notebook Equium L10-300. Somehow has been a password on the BIOS and start-up, so I can't do anything with it. I can't boot from a CD and I tried a USB floppy drive, it seems to the flexible time and then just operates in the password box. I was going to try a BIOS flash, you see.

  I'm guessing maybe remove battery from the bios might help? But do not know where it is or how to get to it. All links to the manuals etc. would be nice. I ve read some new Toshibas have special security chips now hold passwords etc.

  Any help would be thank you very much, really need to solve this problem.

  on the machine, I had a bios password set for the start.
  After that I put this password empty start it asks me for some other password enter the bios menu.
  I am able to boot up the laptop, launch Vista and do what I want to do besides enterering the Bios.

  Advice to solve this problem?
  Tried to update the bios, did not help.
  Looked in the internet for a description where to find CMOS batt. Still no idea.

  Are you sure that you have set the BIOS password?
  If you set the BIOS password then the laptop would request the password before it would start in Windows Vista.

  I think that set you the password of the user or supervisor password!

  In Toshiba Assist-> Secure you could erase that two passwords too.
  Please check this!

  HP computers that are shipped with Windows 8 in general have a BIOS version 8 which supports Secure Boot.   The motherboard of your PC was initially released with a BIOS version 7. Since you have a BIOS version 8, many modern graphics cards should work.

• Question about resetting password IPAD?

  I apparently got myself a bit of a circular problem that I would be happy to help with.  I have an old IPAD 2 (WIFI only) I have stopped using about 8 months when I upgraded to AIR 2.  I took out the old IPAD today want to wipe so guests could use it as a tablet based Web browsing.  The battery has been completely drained, then I fully charged... it starts now to the PASSWORD screen.  This is where the challenge has started:

  • The IPAD is WIFI only, 16 GB version.
  • As it stand right now WIFI is disabled because it was completely drained... power now fully charged.
  • IPAD is locked with a PASSWORD, but my PASSWORD does not work, even if I do not remember change... no matter the IPAD is locked.
  • I plugged in my laptop computer and connected to ITunes with the intention of totally reset the Tablet as way of managing the forgotten password
  • However, when I try to reset it via ITunes, it tells me that I need to disable the function "Find my IPAD"... which I can't do on the IPAD because it is locked.
  • So, I have connected on ICLOUD and tried to delete the IPAD saying it was lost...
  • No luck, since ICLOUD cannot get the IPAD, because WIFI is disabled and the Tablet is OFFLINE.

  Any suggestions on the remedies?  I missed something obvious?  I'm fine with the IPAD reset entirely and erasing all the APPS, docs and old e-mail.

  On some laptops the BIOS must be updated to the XP version if the Win XP operating system has been installed.

  The warning indicates that if you have already updated the BIOS to version 5.10 XP refresh you could again only at the version 2.20 of BIOS Vista.

  But it seems that the version XP BIOS for Sam X 200 doesn't exist at this time and in my opinion you can neglect it ;)

• Satellite A30: Question about Bios Update August 8

  Good afternoon

  Am I right to assume that the update in August 2007 for my Satellite A30 is to allow him to work with MS Vista? There is no documentation with the download of the bios, but the bios description says "provides the additional functionality.

  Can anyone describe what that this added functionality provides and is it really helps in 3-year upgrade of a machine? I use XP on it

  I'm pretty sure that old Satellite A30 is not taken in charge of Vista. Unfortunately there is no public document on the update of the BIOS and the exact list this update is good for. One thing I can say with certainty: If your OS works well and stabile let go and take advantage of Windows XP Home edition.

  OK, follow these steps:

  Burn the file bios to CD on a CD, boot from it and update your bios. It's a simple and easy way. I Don t understand why it shouldn´t work, given that I ve updated my bios in the same way. I burned the image to CD and booted from this CD.

  Please answer perhaps you just made a mistake when you think to (I sometimes do too much, not often, but it happens..)  :)

  I agree with marina4000 there is no details on changes to the BIOS.
  If you really need to know what was a change then try to contact the ASP.
