  Hope you can help. We have a 5 years satellite pro L20 who never gave a lot of days. It runs from Win XP, had an upgrade (crucial) memory to 2 GB and a new battery 4 years ago 4 years ago. 2 days ago, he simply left with the same noise you get when force a shutdown by holding the power button down.
