Satellite Pro L20 PSL25E - Wireless LAN missing?

I ended up wiping my laptop and leave as he ran very slow. After you have reinstalled XP it works now fine, however...

There is now no wireless LAN. In my view, it is equipped with wireless 802. 11 b / g LAN (it worked until I reinstalled).

I find no mention of Wireless LAN in "Devices", I have found a driver for the device (Atheros Wireless LAN adapter XP 7.7.0.233.1) but don't know what to do next.

The wireless on the front button brings on the red LED when you press on, but nothing happens.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you

Wireless network card is listed in the device-> network cards Manager?

If this isn't the case, then that means that there is no card inserted wireless network.

    > The wireless device is turned on, but I don't see the icon in the network environment.
Are you sure that the laptop is equipped with wireless network card?

AFAIK the L20 Pro Sam is an older model laptop and L20 not all were equipped with internal WLan module even if the WLan switch is available.

You should check if the wireless network adapter is listed in the device under network adapters Manager.

  • Satellite Pro L20 PSL25E - Display driver required

    Hello

I'm looking for a new display driver for my Toshiba Satellite Pro L20, model No. PSL25E. I can't find this driver on toshiba.com.

Right now I use Version 6.14.10.4332 of Mobile Intel (r) 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset Family.

The problem occurs when you use opensource-progs like GIMP.

After a few minutes, the display switches gray while the laptop is still working?

Does anyone have the same problem or an idea how I can fix this problem? Thank you.

    Micha

    Hello

You have an Intel graphics card?

Well, try to use and to install the graphics driver on the Intel site.

If you will not be able to install it by running setup.exe, then try to reinstall the driver through the Device Manager.
Here, you can select the graphic card and choose Update driver
Use the advanced procedure, and then point to files of driver that you downloaded from the Intel page.

Generally, the installation should functions that it worked on my system too.

I ve never had a Lan Driver or the ability to connect to a WiFi network. I am currently using a BT voyager, but who has broken. Is there anywhere I can download Driver Lan or Wireless Lan Driver that will allow the connection to my WiFi network without using voyager external BT.

I'm sorry if this supposed doesn t. I tried various links does not.

    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/?page=downloads

Thanks for your time. Kind regards.

If you want to connect to the wireless network, you need the WLAN driver. LAN driver is not important in this case.

Usually, you can download the driver WLAN Portal Toshiba WLAN, the last link you posted. You only know what you have the WLAN card.

Have you ever tried this driver WLAN?

  • Satellite Pro L20-PSL25E - CPU upgrade question

    Hello

I upgraded the ram last year and im running high-performance for my model, 2.0 GB.

This really helped for awhile, but after a few heavy programs have been installed this year (only one software, one game) ive noticed it running slow as before, its worth noting that my computer has adopted all the necessary specifications for both outside the game where im working on 1.7 ghz and it needs the least 2.0 ghz processor , and I'm short on speed slowest peformance of the game itself.

The vehicle has currently a centrino pentium, keeping in mind a new portable computer is not in my budget, is it worth getting a new processor and which would be best?

    Thanks again, Rebecca.

    Hello

My personal opinion is that Satellite L20 is not designed for heavy operations and is certainly not game machine. If you compare the price of Satellite and Satellite L laptops you'll understand why. I'm sure that this laptop is designed for Internet, office and simple every day activities.

Upgrading RAM is very good and I'm sure it helps a lot but CPU upgrade is not the solution. Update CPU is not supported. You must also understand that each hardware platform is designed for optimal physical activity. Processor, graphics, cooling system and other hardware components must work without overheating and harmonic. Stronger CPU means more heat.

In my opinion you should optimize operating system preinstalled software hoping you use will work better and more stable.

  • Beep on Satellite Pro L20

You just bought a new Satellite Pro L20 PSL25E-00K00CEN, less than 12 days old. He had these recurring short beep (1-2 sec), perhaps that every 20 minutes then maybe every hour. But no notification of what the beep wasn't on. Laptop works on current electric.

No external device connected or disconnected. None of the obvious reasons. Beeps occur if I'm working on the laptop or not.
Would be very grateful if anyone has similar problems and solutions?

I even turned off "sound and notification" of the Panel, but never stopped beeping!

    Hello

I don't know what could be the noise.
The fact is that the beep occurs during the computer laptop startup procedure. It is usually a beep code. But this should not appear in the operating system and if the unit is running.
However, this seems very strange. Your laptop is fairly new and the warranty is valid. You should ask the Toshiba service partner for review. Maybe he knows more about this strange event.

Please post again if you will get more information.

  • Satellite Pro L20 - I can identify the right recovery disk?

    Hi all

I wonder if there is a way to identify what recovery CD or DVD came with a particular laptop model?

I have a number of Toshiba laptops and it is that recently that I started to write a note that's CD/DVD with a machine.
    for example
    GMR400788EN0 goes with Satellite Pro A200 PSAE4E-03U017EN

I'm trying to figure out which CD is going with a Satellite Pro L20, PSL25E-00800CEN

    Thank you
    Ian

    Hello

Sorry, but I think that there is no way to identify which CD belongs to what laptop.
If your laptop comes with the recovery disk it should be a CD label or so on it.

Anyway, it shouldn't be a problem, and you should test if it s the right recovery disk.
Or you have so many Toshiba laptops? ;)

  • Satellite Pro L20 - typed keys missing

We have about 20 laptops, Satellite PRO L20 (model No. PSL2YE-00H00EG3), and all have this problem): keyboard missing from time to time a key is pressed. All keys are affected and the question is very worrying, given that you can have a miss every 20 letters typed.

We have tried to update the BIOS to version 1.5 to version 1.8, but we had no success.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you
    Bogdan

    Hello

You said that this problem occurs from time to time. In this case, it would be possible that some 3rd applications have a bad influence on this keyboard as described in this announcement.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=9494&TSTART=30

You also suggested that you tried to upgrade the BIOS. Did you, or was it just a tent?

  • Satellite Pro L20: Wireless connection is not reliable

    Hello

We have some Toshiba laptops in the office.

However, the wireless on our most recent purchase (Satellite Pro L20) installation is very reliable. Periodically he loses sight of the network without apparent reason.

We have the device permanently connected, and the problem can occur even when the machine is in the middle of copying files to and from the network server.

The actual wireless access point is within a few feet of distance (in view), so I can't imagine there is a problem of signal strength. Can anyone offer me any guidance?

I don't know where to start on this one there...

    TIA

    Hello

With a WiFi card has your unit (listed in the Device Manager)?

  • Satellite Pro L20: Where the wireless card?

    Hello

I bought my Satellite Pro L20 about 4/5 months ago, second hand and then I saw that the wireless is not working and that by looking for the system on which there is no card wireless isn't installed. I am looking to buy one to replace it, but I don't know where to find the wireless card. Can someone guide me please where to install the wireless card?

    Thank you
    Sam

At the bottom of the unit, you will find a cache location WLan.
Under this coverage, you will find a place for the insertion of the card.

In the user manual, you can find a beautiful photo. It shows the right position...

  • Cannot get wireless with my Satellite Pro L20

My Satellite Pro L20 simply does not recognize my wireless network at home - he can't even see when I search for wireless networks. With my other non-Toshiba laptop on - there was no problem and that captures wireless 4 or 5 in my neighborhood.

My Tosh works well when he hard plugged on the Net, but if you help get me wireless I would appreciate.

Are you sure that your laptop is an installation of a WLan minPCI card?
You can check this in the device under network adapters Manager

If the wireless network adapter is listed in the device manager then you should check the compatibility of the WLan standards.
If the wireless network adapter supports only the 802. 11 G standard and your router supports only 802.11 A or 802.11 standard B then you will not be able to connect to the WLan router.
