Satellite Pro L500 - press Fn key blocks the laptop computer to blue screen

Hi all
First post so please ask if I did not include all the necessary information.

I have the Satellite Pro L500-1TX (Win 7 32 bit os) and everything worked fine including the Fn menu drop-down button.

Now, whenever I press the Fn key, it blocks the laptop to a blue screen. The computer then restarts automatically and that it was an unplanned shutdown offers the usual safe mode option.

Unfortunately, I do not know when this started as I do not use the fn often hesitate so just do a system restore. I don't know how far back to go. It was several weeks before I associated accidents hit the Fn key.

Any suggestions as to which Toshiba drivers may need to be reinstalled. The computer otherwise works fine.

Cheers in advance
MTV

Great! Thanks for this feedback that I also found other threads about Support Flash Card utility and it is the tool command keys FN so read the forum in other threads contributes without doubt! ;)

OK, so this is what happened:

While my friend was working on his laptop computer that she had his charger plugged but it did not load. I discovered that the lead from the Charger AC/DC had frayed and should resolidering. After that the laptop was working fine, I looked inside the laptop to check the AC plug connector before I fixed the cable.

I'm not sure, but what happens if you remove the WiFi card you created in? The new card is may be defective or not compatible with the laptop.

To me, it looks like a hardware problem and your laptop should be checked by a technician of the laptop. Maybe the motherboard needs to be replaced or something else

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro P100 PSPAEA and need honestly the laptop more irritating I have ever owned.
The problem is the cooling fan which tends to regularly turn up to maximum, sat there for a few seconds then turn down.

Rather than simply successively increase to cool a little screaming for a second or two, then reduced speed. It can do like all the 15 seconds and is driving me crazy especially in a silent room. I am running Windows Vista and the latest version of the BIOS V4.4. I am ready to throw this thing on the door and never buy Toshiba again.

But before I do that does anyone know a solution?

I think the BIOS v4.4 requires a newer graphics NVIDIA driver.

Install the latest graphics driver from the Toshiba site and see how it goes.

    Hi mate

AFAIK the preinstalled Office is a trial version!
You cannot use the serial key you found at the bottom of the unit because the key to this series is a serial OEM key and it belongs to the version preinstalled Windows.

So if you want to enable the office, then you will need to purchase the full license!

    Hey,.

For me, the matter is clear: the battery can't hold a charge so the laptop will be shut down because it has no power.

I think you need to replace the battery with a new one and you can get a provider of service authorized in your country. Simply contact the guy and ask that they can tell you how much it would cost.

  • On the Satellite Pro L500 - 1 6 vibrating screen

    I have a Satellite Pro L500 - 1 6, operting system is windows 7.
Since I bought the laptop I've known vibration of the screen.
The problem is more acute when I'm running java on firefox and then open a program like Outlook and try to use the drop-down list box to select a contact.
When I do this, the Outlook screen vibrates madly and it is impossible to stop unless I close the program firefox.
There are occasions when this happens without firefox being open.

The graphics card is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4600 Series
    I'm on version 8.634.1.0 driver.

I tried to upgrade the display driver via the ATI Web site, but it cannot be updated because it requires a driver of Toshiba and one on my machine is the most recent available.

I disabled the Aero Glass effects, but it did not work.

    If anyone can help?

    Hello

    > I tried to upgrade the display driver via the ATI Web site, but it cannot be updated because it requires a driver of Toshiba and one on my machine is the most recent available.

The Ati drivers are not pre-tested by Toshiba and do not have protection against overheating. Thus, it is not recommended even trying to install.

    > When I do this, the Outlook screen vibrates madly and it is impossible to stop unless I close the firefox program

Have you tried updating the version of Firefox or switch to opera?

  • Satellite Pro L500 - cannot install the Realtek LAN driver

    Hi all

I got a Satellite Pro L500 Windows 7 pro with disk created from computers, cell phones, but now cannot install a Realtek LAN driver for the laptop.

The installation of the driver software program doesn't seem to work properly all the time, tried several times to install with only once a realtek 'repair' option becomes available.
When I managed to install the driver I got an error "the device couldn't start. After restoring I also had problems with a "controller driver simple communication PCL.

  • Wireless on the Satellite Pro L500 - 1 4 issues

    Dear support,

I have a Toshiba L500 - 1 4 which has been lowered to Windows XP SP3. As standard, it came with a wireless adapter Realtek RTL8191SE, however despite the driver updates, it was extremely difficult to connect to wireless networks.

I saw the same or similar problems with other models of Toshiba and upgrade to an Intel wireless card corrected the problem.

I tried to improve this laptop with an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 and Intel Pro 3945 wireless card. In both cases the orange LED downstairs to the left of the laptop does not illuminate when the laptop computer of messages, however with the Realtek RTL8191SE for this.

When you log on Windows XP, cards both Intel Centrino Advanced - N 6200 wireless Intel 3945 Pro will appear in the Windows Device Manager correctly (once the drivers are installed), but I can get no network at all. I tried the drivers from the Intel website and the Toshiba, it makes no difference.

I've updated to the latest version of the BIOS 2.10 successfully and I tried also to the black and white wireless adapter cables. Yet once this makes no difference. If I re - insert and install the Realtek RTL8191SE, orange LED wireless adapter appears in the POST and I can at least browse wireless networks.

The BIOS has active wireless and pressing FN + F8 in Windows with the Intel does not work. When I try FN + F8 with the Realtek card it does not work.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Hello

    > Dear support,
Just FYI: here's a forum for user to user means you can talk to normal people like you and me so Don t expect official support from Tohsiba. ;)

Regarding your problem: I put t understand why you made an update of the WLAN card. I never saw similar topics here where Exchange the WLAN card solves these problems.

In my opinion the WLAN new cards are not compatible and I would setup the Realtek card again. The latest Toshiba pre-tested WLAN driver can be downloaded here:
