Satellite Pro M70 - what is the Bluetooth module reference number
Could someone who has a Toshiba Satellite Pro M70, with bluetooth, tell me the part number of the bluetooth module please?
You can reed one of the labels under your laptop. You can read bluetooth inside, the reference is in the left side of the label, and it will be something like this: PA3418U-BTM.
Thank you.
Hello
Why you n t make a call to the service allowed in your country partner and would order a compatible BT module for your laptop?
In my opinion, it would be the best way to get a.
Unfortunately I m no owner of the satellite Pro M70 and, therefore, I have don t know the part number for BT. But my A210 has been equipped with an internal module of BT and PA3608U-1BTM part number
Welcome them

Satellite Pro M70 - what HARD drive can you recommend?
I have Satellite Pro M70 and I have a 60GB HDD that I see what it s SATA 8 MB of buffer memory. The processor it s 1.73 GHz. I see that there is the Samsung typical 160 GB and the Western Digital Scorpio Blue 160 GB at the same price, which is better?
And for only $ 11 more there's a Scorpio blue Western digital 320 with even 8 MB buffer than other 2. But I don t think so 320, that's a lot for Satellite Pro M70, and I have an external drive 2.5 "250 GB, data with this is not problem.
What the best solution for this laptop? I don t want to burn now the phone LOL.
Thank you
Hello
If your laptop is already equipped with SATA interface, you can use each HDD with SATA1 or SATA2 port on the new SATA interface there is no limit on the old standard IDE
It s your choice what HARD drive you buy because I put t know your needs, but in my opinion it makes no difference which manufacturing you buy the HARD drive. All hard drives are similar and there is no significant difference (performance).
I made good experiences with Western Digital and Hitachi hard drives.By the way: you can buy a HARD drive with 7200 rpm or 5400.rpm. Latter is faster but requires more power. In my opinion, this is useful if you often work with large files.

Satellite Pro M70: Question on the port on the left hand side
Another question regarding the Pro M70 PSM75E, next to the hard drive (left side) there is a port which you can take off. I took it of and it looks like a chip grafx or something: s someone with the M70 not what it is.
Thanks again
Hello
Well, there are of many Satellite Pro M70. It s a great series.
But for example Satellite Pro M70-110 has a PCMCIA Type II slot.
You can use the different PCMICA card in this slot. But they must be compatible.
I guess this slot machine, you found a plastic Board. This is only for security. However, if you want to learn more about your device, I would recommend reading the user manual which must be preinstalled on your laptop. You will find very, very, very ;) useful information.

Satellite Pro M70-113: is the update of the Bios as of 03/06/07 supports slic tables
Hello
Maybe someone knows if the update of the bios for toshiba satellite pro m70-113, dated 03/06/07 supports slic tables or not?
For vista oem installation dvd?Thank you...
You will not be able to find info accurate on the BIOS and what exactly is supported or not. If you just want to install Vista on your M70 I can just say that I installed Vista Ultimate on my Satellite M70-159 (PSM71E) without any problem.

Satellite Pro M70: removal of the USB device causes other peripheral USB does not work
Withdrawal/use of a USB for a USB device causes devices on USB port to get affected.
Satellite Pro M70-199 (2 GB RAM)
Windows XP Pro (SP2) with all updates of Windows installed until end of October 2006.
This laptop has 3 USB ports.
An Eicon Diva ISDN USB modem is connected to a USB port. When certain devices connected to a different USB port are deleted (even if removed safely with "eject" or "remove device safely", it causes the ISDN modem to file either a double channel (64 k + 64 k) ISDN, or for the ISDM modem to disconnect completely.)
Cause this include any memory stick USB, MP3 player (ipod and creative zen) and so on.
Do other devices, such as USB external hard drives & sometimes external DVD USB drives, and sonetimes do not produce this problem.
Is this a known issue?
If it is a hardware interrupt problem, how to solve it?
This problem is related to the modem and the laptop? As a note, in addition, intermittent (random) times (cannot reproduce all the time, but it happens once or twice a day) when a USB device is accessible it causes the modem USB ISDN to drop a single channel, even if the lights on the modem still show it as it is connected. In this case and the case above, the only way to get the modem ISDN USB running again is physically disconnect and reconnect.
The reason why it is a crucial issue is that:
(1) the modem speed is halved or disconnected
(2) the ISP continues to full rate for a double load connection even if a channel has been dropped.Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello
I have Satellite M70-159 and I didn t notice any strange problems with the USB ports. I use a few of them as printer, webcam, USB, memory stick, optical mouse, and external HARD drive. The devices are recognized correctly and I always remove without option delete without danger.
Now I have Vista pre-installed and there is no problem so far. If I understand you right USB ports work fine but there is problem with USB modem only. Am I wrong?
Also try to contact the producer of modem support. Is perhaps the question like this known and if all goes well, they have a logical explanation. -
Satellite Pro M70: What USB 2.0 Port Replicator is compatible?
Would be grateful if someone could advise me on the purchase of a USB 2.0 port replicator.
I think the 3 USB 2.0 ports on my laptop Pro M70 are not enough, and that's why I want to buy a USB 2.0 Port Replicator.
The site of the Toshiba shop specifies USB 2.0 Port Replicator II (UK) with port network, part number: PX1173U-1PRP, price: 49,93 GBP.
It has 4 USB ports 2.0, which would give me a total of 6 USB 2.0 ports, which would be the absolute minimum I want. (It also has 2 PS/2 ports, 1 serial port RS232 and 1 USB 2.0 port network that takes in charge rates of 10 / 100 Mbps).
Can anyone tell if it is powered by the laptop, or by it's own adapter?
Unfortunately, the Web of Toshiba site has advised that it is currently out of stock and are difficult to get in on all the time, as they are the subject of a sort of "green manufacturing" test.
This prompted me to consider buying a replicator USB 2.0 ports alternative and all I would prefer one with more than 4 USB 2.0 ports, and in fact 6 or more USB 2.0 ports would be preferable. I'm not really interested in other types of ports that are often provided with the replicators of USB 2.0 ports.
I would be grateful if someone could recommend/Advisor at a replicator USB 2.0 ports alternative that would be compatible with my laptop Pro M70.
One of my concerns is how the port replicator USB 2.0 Port is powered. I think I would have preferred that the unit is powered by its own adapter, I understand is 5 Volts with 500 milliamps for each port, rather than to the laptop (probably would be less tax on the laptop, with less heating).
Thank you
AlanCBI can't comment on the question whether the Replicator you mention has its own power source, although I suspect, he does
However, I have a satellite Pro M70 too and with a similar problem and wanting a hub to connect to all my external printers, Sandy etc using just one connection, I buy PA3390E-1MPM - a hub of Toshiba, Audio/USB multimedia center, which goes a step further and provides a hub not only for USB sources , but also for the speakers etc.
It has its own power supply to the unit and connects via USB 2.0 to my laptop. It is also stackable with the Toshiba Gigastore 250 GB USB 2.0 external hard drive (PA3392E-1MPS) which I also use for backups, storing external data etc.
Had the two units for 3 months now and everything works fine. I got headr of some problems with people in loss of access to the hard drive, but it seems that it was never if it has been disconnected by pulling the cord out usb, rather than make a ' Safely Remove Hardware to disconnect the USB device and so far have had no probs at all
It has 4 ports, more port network and connections from the speakers for the configurations 2/2.1/4/4.1/5.1 full, more Creative software like drivers, more remote control useful to control audio devices. Oh, and also a Surround sound, and EAX
Maybe a little more of your option, but worth it in my opinion. If you can't find it on the Toshiba site I have purchased from www.insight.com
Hope that helps

Satellite Pro M70: Advice on the expansion of the RAM
Hello world
I have a SPro M70 with 512 RAM installed. I'll install a memory 1024 RAM card today. Please advise if I should install new RAM in a particular location. Is there a primary & secondary slot / configuration?
Thank you
Hello
Your device has two slots. It is not important in what location you will put a new, larger module, but I recommend you put it in the slot A (where is now 512 MB RAM) and the old module to location B.
The compatible RAM 1 GB module for your appliance is DDR2 400/533 1 GB (PA3411U-1M1G). Please make sure that you use right (100% compatible).
Bye and good luck!

Satellite Pro 4600 - what is the maximum size of HARD drive?
My age Satellite Pro 4600 has a 20 GB HARD drive. These are now very difficult to obtain, does anyone know if superior capacy HDDs can be used and, if so, what is the maximum size of the HARD drive.
(Despite his age that I always use the Satellite Pro for some jobs).
Hello John
Satellite Pro 4600 is old enough for laptop and it is not easy to find the exact info. The fact is that this laptop comes with 10 and 20 GB hard drives.
My opinion is that you can use 30 or even 40 GB HDD. I think that 30 GB new HARD drive should be enough for your some jobs. What do you think?

Hello
I don't know what the problem is here, but I recommend you to install Vista using Toshiba recovery image. If you have any new model mobile, you can do it from the HARD disk. to start press F8 for advanced boot option.
Choose the first option called repair my computer and just follow the menu on the screen.
Detailed instructions, you can find sub - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htmIf you have more questions or you need more help please let us know.

Satellite Pro P300 - what is the maximum RAM I can install?
What is the maximum RAM you can install in the PSPCDA-01L00D Toshiba Satellite Pro P300?
It is not listed in the specifications.
Hello!
It seems therefore that the laptop is already upgraded to the maximum RAM.
I think that 4 GB of RAM should be sufficient for all applications on a laptop at the moment. :)
Good bye

Satellite Pro 4280 - what is the size of the HARD drive?
I just bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro 4280. According to the manual, it should have a 6.0 GB HDD but in my computer it is shown as having only a 1.34 GB capacity.
PS I formatted the disk to remove the former owner data and operating system and you have installed Windows 98SE
[Edited by: admin]
Hello
Satellite Pro 428Xcdt was certainly delivered with 6 GB HARD drive.
Are you sure that you have checked the size of the HARD drive correctly?I guess the 1.34 GB is a free space on the HARD disk.

Satellite Pro A300D - what is the model number for the keyboard?
My husband managed to dislodge a key on my keyboard CAP and broke the clip white scissors that holds up on... (don't ask me how)
He spoke of the authorized service center here in Norway and they sent us replacement scissors tongs (actually they sent an old non-functional keyboard), but the clips are of a different design to those on my laptop.
I was wondering if anyone has an idea of the model/serial number of the keyboard used in the Satellite Pro A300D-151 (PSAK9E) so I can get the correct replacement part.
I really don't want to have to replace the entire keyboard when it's just 1 scissor clips which is broken... the laptop is only 5 months old.
Here are some pictures of the scissors clamp in question and where it attaches to the keyboard (sorry for quality)

Hello
Boyfriend sorry but it is not possible to exchange a few individual keys on a keyboard, so in this case, you must replace the full keyboard. But normally, it shouldn't be so difficult.
Either you exchange the keyboard yourself or you sent the laptop to the authorized service provider. The model number for the keyboard is not known to me but contact your ASP! They can order all the parts of Toshiba and they should know the right part number.
Good bye

Satellite Pro M70: How to use Bluetooth?
the dose M70 [PSM75E-009004EN] have built in bluetooth. If it dose how do you use it... because his got the bluetooth options. his confused me!
Thank you
Hello
As far as I know, this unit was delivered without Bluetooth, but if you want to be 100% sure you should check the bottom of the unit. If the device supports Bluetooth technology, you should find the label of BT. If the unit have no BT cards, so you will find no BT label. Easy ;)
