Satellite Pro P200 - parity memory error

Hi all

Sometimes, I get the following error message when I start my computer laptop http://www.geocities.com/atesfaye/Mar08_0001.jpg

It's a Satellite Pro P200 with 2 x 1 GB RAM modules. I ran memtest on the memory installed together and individual modules. The results of the test came with no error. To read the different forums of discussion, some suggest that this error message may relate to graphics memory! Is there a way to test the graphics memory?

Any help much appreciated!

Can you tell us when this problem started?
A has started after the upgrade RAM or other activity?

I have a Satellite Pro P200 and to the work required to install Windows 2003 server on it, but all I get is an error message:

    -Hardware malfunction

Call your provider of support material

NMI: Parity check / memory parity error

    -The system is shut down

I checked the memory and everything seems OK. Vista runs very well on it, and all memory is recognized. I tried different flavors of Server 2003, although all I need is standard edition. Anyone who has met this problem, or someone has any suspicion as to how I can get it operational.

So, how tested the RAM? With Memtest? Or Prime95?

I read in many forums that people work servers (no laptop...) SERVERS) that correctly work 1 year with ECC memory, then windows 2003 server gives the same error message you have.

I mean if Vista works flawlessly and you checked as you say the RAM while there could be a mismatch which must not be for lack of toshibas.
Maybe you should try a linux ubuntu server edition, which works great on almost * ALL * systems, even on systems with faulty CPU/memory (Ok, ok, not 100%, but it works, I got this case :))

So, maybe you can try to exchange the RAM, but if you're still the same error then ask microsoft or try another P200, if they are available.

Sorry dude, but I Don t have a lot of ideas in your situation :/

  • Satellite Pro P200-14W and WXP - no driver for PC memory controller

I installed Windows XP on the Satellite Pro P200-14W and installed all the drivers I could find on the Web of Toshiba site following the instructions provided.

I always have a controller memory PC that appear in hardware Manager who is not driver related to it.

My main problem however is that at random intervals (sometimes when you pull the power cable) the defects of the screen and turns into a mess of the desktop computer and the computer must be restarted because it does more. I tried several types of graphics drivers, but this does not stop the problem.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

If you have installed XP on this laptop Vista you must also update the BIOS to the version of Windows XP.
Seems that at this time it s a 5.00Win version of the BIOS.

To get rid of the yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager, you must install the
Flash Media Driver. This is the driver for your bridge Media Slot. This slot allows you to insert an SD card, Memory Stick (Pro) or xD picture cards.

  • Problems after updating the BIOS on Satellite Pro P200

I recently buy a Satellite Pro P200 running Windows Vista Business. Yesterday, I updated the BIOS to the version 1.50 supplied with the machine to 1.80 available on the Toshiba site. I double checked that I was using BIOS correct update for the Pro P200 Satellitel running Vista.

After updating the BIOS, I have now two problems:

    1. whenever I start and join the office, I get an error message "record of Vista has stopped working". This problem has been identified as toshibavistaregistration.exe here: [link: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=99805]

2 Control Panel > system now shows the processor and the memory (RAM) as "not available". Execution of the diagnostic PC Toshoba tool and looking at basic information show also no information on the memory (RAM) Although the processor information here. There may be pieces others missing too under the eyes of list shorter than before the update of the BIOS.

Basically, I want to get everything working again as it should, but cannot find any information on these issues.

After further review, it appears that the update of the BIOS is not the cause of the problems.

Immediately after updating the BIOS, I had a major system crash. It turns out that this is what has caused problems.

After a system restore to a point before the update of the BIOS and the major system crash, now everything is working again with BIOS version 1.8 in place.

  • Satellite Pro P200 PSPB7E - I need some drivers XP

    Hello world

First of all, I would like to say that this forum is so great, because after fighting for a week trying to install XP, I had finally finished it, however now comes part 2 of the problem :(

Before I installed XP on my system I did so that I have all the drivers, I went on the Toshiba site and downloaded all the XP drivers. When responsible got XP I could see there was a lot of drivers uninstalled in Device Manager, so I installed them. However, a few of them remain and I don't know what to do as I downloaded all from the Web from Toshiba site.

I myself remember before I installed the drivers there are 2 required audio and one of them installed, I also tried to install the "Display driver" but I can't because its not letting me run the actual setup file it says the file www.LATICRETE.com being created is more than 88 characters: s never seen this error before.

So in all I have 3 missing drivers, they are:

Audio device on High Definition Bus Audio - but my sound works
    PCI controller memory, and
    Video controller (VGA Compatible)

Any ideas of what I could do? Thank you

    * Only for note; *
All THE XP drivers are available for this laptop Satellite Pro P200 PSPB7E on the European driver Toshiba page!

In addition, if you check the European disc of Toshiba page you would see that there is a special BIOS update for Win XP!
This means that you must update the BIOS if you want to use XP on this laptop!

    Regarding your question of pilot;
    > Audio device on High Definition Bus - Audio but my sound works

I also have this yellow exclamation point. This is normal with Win XP, but if you want to check out these tips:
You must first install the MS patches: KB835221and KB888111.
Remove the device on High Definition Audio Bus Audio from the Device Manager, then restart the computer again.
You may need to reinstall the audio driver.

  • Failure of the BIOS - Satellite Pro P200 - 16 c

I installed Windows 7 64 bit on a laptop Satellite Pro P200 today. I then tried flashing the BIOS through windows with program Flash BIOS on Toshiba driver download page. I used the program flash for Vista because none is available for Windows 7. The program started and took a backup of my old version of BIOS and then Flash the BIOS. Then after a while an error occurred saying that this operating system was not supported.

Alright. I restarted the computer and he was going to access the BIOS to see if the new version was done to install or not. But I can't access the BIOS now since the TI of suddenly password protected. I tried Google known standard Phoenix BIOS passwords, but they do not work. Now I've mistyped the password if often the computer won't let me even start without entering a correct password.

How can I reset the BIOS? Should I open the laptop and remove the CMOS battery? Which will work?

    Help, please...

    Hello

You used not compatible BIOS and it seems that module ROM BIOS was not flashed properly.
Unfortunately, there is nothing to do but to contact the ASP of Toshiba in your country,
Guys could remove the password and can reflash the BIOS using a traditional disk BIOS version and the crisis.

    > How can I reset the BIOS? Should I open the laptop and remove the CMOS battery? Which will work?
No, remove the CMOS battery would not help because as far as I know that the CMOS battery is not removable on laptops just ASP can clear the BIOS password.

  • Satellite Pro P200 with WXP - two components without driver

I installed XP Pro on my Satellite Pro P200 15W and I installed all the drivers on the driver download page, but I have still two components without driver: these devices, I don't know what types of devices are, because it seems that this medication works very well. The features are:

Memory (Controladora de Memoria PCI) PCI controller
    Unknown device (unknown device)

I aso installed upgrading Bios WIN5.00, but both devices still does not.

    Any idea?

    Thank you everyone

The * PCI controller memory * Intel Turbo Memory is called a chip Flash cache logic Intel (Robson device).
It s a new technology designed to support the new features of Vista.

There is not driver for it for Windows XP because XP doesn t supports the function of cache, it is supported by Vista.

The other unknown device could be everything; You may need to verify that the devices do not work. LAN, WLan, etc...

  • No sound in Satellite Pro P200 with XP

    Hi all.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro P200 with Windows Vista preinstalled. I removed Vista and installed Windows XP with Service Pack 2, due to the incompabilités with some software I need. Almost all of the necessary drivers for XP (even a downgrade to BIOS) was downloaded and installed from Support from Toshiba web page. But there are still two devices that I can not install. At the start of my laptop it always detect "* Microsoft UAA bus driver for high definition audio *" and "* controller memory PCI - Chip for logical Cache Flash in Intel (r) *" as new hardware and they appear marked in yellow in the Device Manager list.

I installed the last bus Microsoft UAA for high definition audio driver for XP from Toshiba and Realtek too... a lot of time and in different ways... Previously I installed the High Definition Audio Driver Package - KB888111 from Microsoft. But I still have no sound.

PCI memory controller - Intel(r) Flash Cache Logic Chip: the same... tried the drivers the most recent Toshiba one Intel too. Toshiba technical support told me that this unit is ready to run on Vista and have suggested me to try with Robson drivers for Vista Support from Toshiba's web page, but that didn't work either.

I googled a lot, searched this forum and called technical support, as I said, but I've not found a way to solve these problems. Really, I can't believe I bought a laptop that only works with Windows Vista, I resist assume this idea, so I continue to try and try to make it work properly with the operating system that I need and I have chosen freely.

    Any idea?

    Thanks in advance.

You're on right way boyfriend, you must also install another patch MS; KB835221
So finally the KB888111 and KB835221 must be installed before you will follow with the audio driver installation.

The problem is that this unit only works in Vista.
The controller memory PCI is that intel Turbo Memory, also called Intel Flash cache logic chip also called device Robson.
It's quite new technology designed to support the new features of Vista.
There is not driver for it for Windows XP because XP doesn t supports the function of cache, it is supported by Vista.

  • Satellite Pro P200 (Fn) keys

    PSPB7C-S030BC

Hello, I recently downgraded my Toshiba Satellite Pro P200 from Vista to Windows XP. Everything works well except the function (Fn) keys to control the screen brightness, volume. Some function as mute but most do nothing when I try to use them. All the installed drivers although Device Manager shows errors or lack nothing.

I tried to install all the drivers for the keyboard, the Fn keys, keyboard shortcuts, and still I can't work at all. Someone was able to get these keys to run after the installation of WinXP or you know what drivers/software I'm missing? These keys can be used in XP or they work only in Vista?

    Thank you.

What you are missing BIOS is designed for Windows XP Home edition. This is the version 5.20. Visit the download page of the Toshiba BIOS under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > support home > update BIOS.

    Good luck!

  • Unable to play HD DVDs on a Satellite Pro P200

Until recently, I was the proud owner of a satellite Pro P200, but my DVD - ROM drive is not reading disks hd more. I checked the drivers and harware, it plays all other formats very well.

The drive is a Toshiba DVGW/HD TS-L802A ATA.
I read some posts where it says iTunes disables some reg keys?

    Someone at - it ideas?
    Thank you very much.

    > I read some posts where it says iTunes disables some reg keys?
It's don't know not for me but I know a firmware update is available on the Toshiba driver page.
This Firmware update corrects the errors with some media.
It s for a DVD HD TS-L802A drive.

Maybe you could try updating the firmware and check if that helps.

  • Satellite Pro P200: network connectivity is not stable

I have a Satellite Pro P200, which was downgraded from Vista to XP Pro SP3 corporate.

I use a sensitive enough network application that will crash when network connectivity is lost.
This application has been blocking a lot since I downgraded to XP, so I tried to run a continuous ping that gave rise to many messages Request Timed Out (the maximum number of attempts where I actually had ongoing responses was about 30 but is usually much less).

I use the driver downloaded from the Support from Toshiba site (Realtek RTL8139/810 x Family Fast Ethernet Nic - v5.664.205.2007), wireless network works fine, tried to connect to the network using a cable and a port different without change, and using a different laptop with the same cable and port works fine.

The yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager is a memory PCI controller which I believe is for the Intel Turbo Memory, because it is not compatible with Windows XP.

Any ideas what could be the cause.
I tried reinstalling the driver several times without success, it is likely to be software partners or could it be a hardware failure?

I think it's related software and troublemaker is SP3. Test it with SP2 only and it will work perfectly. Friend of mine noticed permanent data LAN transfer interruptions after installing SP3. Remove everything works well again.

  • Satellite Pro P200: Cannot play Age of Empires, because DirectDraw

    I just replaced my old laptop (a ps210e) with a 15th Satellite Pro P200.

I can't my old age of Empires II game to run--the error message is "cannot initialize the graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw. »

Google told me that there is utility to run to test this called dxdiag and I ran it and it says allowed to DirectDraw acceleration (as well as many other things).

So, what should I do to get the Age of Empires to run?

Moreover, is this an official forum of Toshiba to get technical support, or simply a community of user group? I couldn't find anything on the Web of Toshiba UK site actually contact the Toshiba direct technical support.

    Thank you

Stand by. Have you Vista preinstalled Satellite Pro P200? Did you check the minimum system requirements for Age of Empires?

  • Satellite Pro P200 - 17 c: Win XP won't load - installation of the SATA driver

    Hello

I have a satellite pro p200 - 17 c I've had good years, allways worked without any problem.

Last week when I booted the laptop, windows won't load and I find myself safe mode selection screen. No options whatsoever me to windows loading, I tried F8 and still nothing.

I tried the restore cd that reimagee the drive but I get the same thing, I tried a new hard drive, once again the same.

But if I try to load windows from an OEM to install that software does not because it is a sata drive and there is no floppy drive. I have an external floppy drive I use, but it is not known now.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Hello

Go to BIOS and set it to default settings.

In this case the SATA mode must be on AHCI. In this case the SATA drivers are required to install the Windows operating system. But as much as I know that Windows 7 already contains the SATA drivers if usually you don t had to add SATA drivers while OS installation the installation program.

However, here is a nice HowTo document that helps you add SATA drivers for Win XP installation disc.
