Satellite Pro P300-13i / XP SP3 / problem with microphone

Just bought a P300-13i and a beautiful machine, it's too. It came with a XP Recovery disk for playing for a few minutes then with Vista to check all knitted OK I brought back to XP (you need to be reliable and v quickly...) I'm a "one man band") and everything seemed to go smoothly with one exception v.

The machine is supplied with a built-in webcam and microphone. Since the downgrading to XP microphone does not at all well (poor sound volume and a lot of apparent interference) - I confirm with Vista, it worked impeccably well.

Called Tosh who tried to get a boost function to work... but they could not find. Same re - load the driver concerned but still no result. My problem was apparently 'high', but I guess that's fancy talk for "we can not help you" because I have not heard for over a week now...

I was wondering if there was a spark out there that may be able to help me... also borrowed USB a friend and who has worked well... but obviously bought a machine with a microphone built-in microphone, I don't want to have to lug round, a plug in mic with me as well!

The machine is heavy enough as it is!

Look forward to hearing from someone.

Lindsay

And how you try reinstalling Vista? Using the recovery image (factory settings) or you try to install the clean version of Vista?

Sorry, but I don't see any sense why you are doing this. Your laptop comes with Vista. Is there a particular reason to achieve?

  • Satellite Pro P300 - 13 m - boot problem: black screen with 3 beeps

    Hello

Satellite Pro P300 - 13 m, I bought a few weeks ago and in time, I had about 5 - 6 times the same rear screen when I tried to start the system. When he does this notebook gives 3 loud beeps (not sure what that actually means).

When he does this I have to press the power button for 5 seconds and after several times doing this that it will show the Welcome screen toshiba... then sometimes it will automatically restart again and I get this annoying black screen again. Most of the time when I wait about 10 minutes and try to do as well the system starts as usual... Yes... very strange thing here.

To be honest, I don't want to send the laptop for Toshiba once again, as I could use for my business...

Then. What could this be? I've already updated the latest version of the BIOS.

    Thnx in advance

  • Satellite Pro P300-19 q - keyboard problem

    Hello

I bought a * Satellite Pro P300-19 q * laptop and got the shipment yesterday. I am happy with the features and performance of the laptop. It has a keypad as well. The problem is the key board sinks and rises all the keys the keys (lower-right). I feel like its not secure properly. The key to this place Board feels fragile and irritating during use. Even some of my laptops at low prices to friends do not experience this problem. I can't live with it like that because it's a new laptop.
Is there a solution to this problem?

    Thank you
    Ravi

    Hello

Satellite Pro P300 I almost three months now and I can confirm that keyboard on this area is not stable on the other side, but it moves when I press with very great strength. Typing normal I do not use so much force and I have very sensitive keys. Just give a contact, and the symbols are on the screen. I use laptops for a year now and type on the computer keyboard is different as standard desktop with large and robust keys keyboard.

To be honest, I don't see any problem here. Maybe you use to force much press. If you check the mechanism under the keyboard protects it's so small and sensitive, and you can press the keys very gently.

So for me there is no problem at all. If you think that the keyboard should be more service contact stabile and explain the situation.

    Hello!

I have a Satellite Pro P300-145 and today I started noticing a noise of frying with my headphones. I tested my headphones in a different laptop and they sound good and if I play the same files with my speakers it sounds good too so I was wondering if you knew what could be the reason.

I have to say I kept the laptop doesn't work for quite a lot this weekend and he got more than warm so I dunno if that could be causing it in the first place.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Andunemir,

What operating system you are using? You use Windows or Linux?
In addition, it would be interesting to know if this happens only with headphones/external speakers or portable speakers internal too. You can test this please?

    > I have to say I kept the laptop doesn't work for quite a lot this weekend and he got more than warm so I dunno if that could be causing it in the first place.
The temperature of the laptop is enough depending on the applications that you are running. High CPU and graphic card use causes a higher temperature.

But it s also advised to clean the system at any time using a jet of compressed air. This can blow the dust from the cooling fans and the laptop is much cooler after that. I do it every 3 months because I use my laptop every day. If I do that, I followed these instructions:

  • Satellite Pro P300-19 q - cannot start with a new memory

So, I want to add 2 GB of RAM to 2 GB existing. I use Windows 7 64-bit. In the BIOS, I see 4 GB of memory, but windows won't start.

When removing the old memory and leaving the new, the computer isn't even strats. Some info:
    Old memory - Samsung M4 70T5663QZ3-CF7 2 GB DDR2 - 800 DDR2 SDRAM (6-6-6-18 @ 400 MHz) (5-5-5-15 @ 333 MHz) (4-4-4-12 @ 266 MHz)
    New memory - Spectek DDR2 2 GB PC6400 800 MHz 200 pin

So, what's the problem? And what can I do?
    Thank you

    Hello

Theoretically, it should be possible to use 4 GB in this notebook.

The new RAM is the manufacturing of Spectek. This production does not for me. For me, looks not dear noname module.

I always use Kingston modules to upgrade my laptop. I've never had any problems with these modules, so you should try it to.
I think that the new module isn't compatible with your laptop.

  • Satellite Pro A200: There's a problem with my screen

    Hi all

I wonder if anyone can help. Just got a Toshiba Satellite Pro A200, when I cleaned the screen, I noticed that in the Middle at the top (the part under the webcam) pushes a little and squeaks. It's not normal, I'm wrong?

    Help, please!
    Thanks in advance,
    David

It's not easy to tell if it of normal or not in most of the cases the ASP must check the notebook and then the technician could decide if a part needs to be replaced

I recommend you contact the ASP in your country and ask for details as well as a control of the laptop.

  • Satellite Pro P300-19 q - DVD player is constantly trying to access a drive

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro P300-19 q (PSPCDE-009005EN) with Windows XP. I'm having a strange problem where the DVD drive every now and then turns upward (flashing too) as if it attempts to access a disk. There is no disk in the drive.

    Any ideas?

It is not easy to say why this is happening.
As I see you are using Windows XP Home edition. Windows XP Home edition is installed as recovery Toshiba plant?
Has noticed this problem with the factory settings and clean installed OS?

Right now I can't imagine that it's a hardware problem. This read command comes obviously from somewhere. If some additional software may be responsible for this?

    HI -.

just bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro P300-1FP.

Came with Vista installed. I would like to use XP instead.

The aircraft crashed the first time I tried to install XP.
I looked online and found that I needed to change the BIOS settings to work around this (SATA, "AHCI" to "compatibility").

This and that the installation worked fine, but there are a lot of missing drivers, for example for the sounds, graphics, ethernet, wi - fi, etc..
This leaves me in a difficult position since I am currently unable to connect to the internet to look for the missing drivers missing drivers.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I confused m do you know why?
Because you talk about audio driver Realtek and sound chip and my knowledge, that the Satellite Pro P300 was equipped with the audio chip Conexant!

According my Conexant audio chip experience can't stand stereo mixer in the recording devices!

  • Restore CD for XP in combination with double HDD on Satellite Pro P300

On my Satellite Pro P300, there are two hard drives, two 160 GB.
Currently, Windows Vista Professional is installed, as it was preinstalled.
On the first disc, there are 3 partitions, an EISA partition, a partition to boot Vista and a partition for HHDRecovery (contains the image for Vista product Recovery).

In Vista, there is an option for backing up the computer. This offers the ability to completely restore Vista to the situation at the time of the backup.
I did a full backup the first complete hard drive (partition 3) PC and saved on the hard disk of the second.

Now, I want to use the recovery provided product Toshiba for Windows XP to install Windows XP on the laptop.
I guess that the first hard drive will be completely crushed, but I don't know if the second disc will also be replaced.
Does anyone know if my data on the second drive will be lost when using the product for XP Recovery?

I want to keep the data on the second drive, because it gives me the option to restore the laptop to the situation with Vista without reinstalling/activate applications.
Also all my personal files are on this drive.

I doubt that installing XP should touch the 2nd HARD drive, but for peace of mind, you can temporarily remove the 2nd HARD drive before installing XP.

  • Touchpad on Satellite Pro P300 does not work with Windows 7

    Hello

Recently, I load Windows 7 (64-bit) on my Satellite Pro P300. I downloaded all the drivers for W7 64 bit and installed everything, fortunately, most of the time.

The touchpad, however, is not completely functional. The upgrade page says to use the Vista drivers and did not provide any drivers for win7. Installing the Vista drivers didn't really go so well.

In any case, the essential element of the missing features is this thing where you drag your finger up and down the right edge of the touchpad, and it scrolls for you. I can click and double click and move the slider. But I can't scroll. And it's such a pain with move the slider above the scroll bar of the application, with a big screen.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • The new use of recovery of Windows XP with my q Satellite Pro P300-19?

I just bought a Satellite Pro P300-19 q with Vista pre-installed. I want to use Windows XP Professional instead and understand that I must use the DVD titled "Product development - Microsoft Windows XP Professional" supplied with the machine. To do this, however, the provided information sheet is not very useful when he says only: «you will have to load this...» »

My question is: How do I do it from running the disc in the DVD player, just reveals several files which none will get me nowhere?

    Any help would be welcome.

The recovery of Windows XP product disc contains an image of a Windows XP installation ready with all the drivers and tools.

Before installing Windows XP, you should burn the Vista recovery disk because if you want to restore Windows Vista you will need this disc. So, you can restore the computer back to wherever it was when you originally received.
So far as the recovery image (Vista) is only stored on the HARD drive and so you can burn it to a DVD:
Click on the Toshiba recovery disc creator and insert a blank DVD. Then follow the instructions on the screen. The recovery disk will be created.
You are now able to boot from this DVD and install Vista with all the drivers and tools (factory settings).

When you reinstall Windows with a recovery disk, the HARD disk will be reformatted and all data will be lost. This means that as other partitions so backup your data first.

If you are using Vista it s also able to restore the factory since the HARD drive settings. Therefore, the files are stored in the folder HDDRecovery.
So, if you want to put your mobile PC, press F8. Then you can see the menu and there advanced boot options, select repair your computer.
Follow the instructions on the screen and the laptop will also reinstall.
But don't forget, this (HARD disk recovery) feature is only available with Vista, not XP.

So if you understand this and burned the Vista recovery disk, you can start to install Windows XP.
Boot from the XP Recovery disk and follow the instructions on the screen. The installation of Windows XP does not have a lot of time and this procedure is similar to Vista. After installation you also have an installation with all drivers and Toshiba tools but with Windows XP of course.
This is the content of the Windows XP Recovery disk.
