While my other Fn keys work as expected, I can't adjust the brightness of the screen with them. By pressing the buttons just does nothing and the laptop is in running at full brightness at any time, even on the battery. I installed the latest driver for managing power and from what I can tell, there is no version of the management software supply for something newer than Windows 7. I also installed the latest driver for the shortcut key (in fact, I installed all the latest drivers for this machine.) I read in another thread that this may be caused by the latest driver from Intel's HD graphics card but in fact, I can not install even this driver (said my system is not supported) so I always use the latest version of the driver Lenovo provided.

  Can someone please help with this? I want to be able to quickly adjust the brightness of the screen when it is on battery, but I can't do it right now. Thank you!

  I have the same problem with my L540. It started with the BIOS update to version 1.65. Because I have not found a solution, I went back to BIOS version 1.64, where all the brightness options are there and are working properly.

  You can download older versions. When on the page with the new drivers (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS037285) go to BIOS driver 1.65, then choose "learn more." At the end of the next page, you will see all the old versions.

  This is VERY wrong. You can turn them off. So this help someone else who has this problem, you go to the Bios settings... Change the key priority of function... and restart. Vola!

  I bought a monitor to use when I am in the office (it's a LG Flatron L225WT), installed the software that came with it and plugged. Nothing seemed to happen, then in Toshiba HWSetup, I changed my power on the screen 'LCD + Analog RGB'.

  To cut a long story short, the external screen works perfectly now, but I cannot access the internal screen, even after changing the power supply on the display to 'Automatic Selection '. The Fn + F5 key does not appear to have any effect at all.

  I put t know what laptop you have and don t know what OS you are using, but it seems that you have managed to set the external monitor as the main screen.
  You should change in display properties (right click on desktop-> properties)

  Somewhere in the settings, you should try to score the internal display (1) and should mark use this device as the primary monitor

  You won't find any similar settings or this will not help then set the operating system to the point of time at the beginning. In this case all settings will be reset!
