  I am trying to solve some problems with the touchpad. My PSU45E Toshiba U400-150 was fitted in ALPS touchpad (synaptics, which is much better from day instead).

  I have the problem, that the keys do not respond occasionally.
  Example:
  I hit the keys 'and' but the screen only shows "NA".

  Maybe you write too fast and a few buttons, pressure is not strong enough.

  They are certainly not useless. Do you really believe that Toshiba will offer unnecessary buttons? ;)

  Have you tested the feature with the factory settings? It works properly with the Toshiba recovery image? I have the same buttons on my Satellite and everything works perfectly. I use Winamp too. No problem at all. So I wonder what you do with your laptop.

  I have a 2335dn printer that does not turn on and makes a clicking noise up through the document feeder.  FYI, the scanner lock is not locked either.  The display does not illuminate, nor the printer begins to warm.  It is simply a constant clicking noise.  I don't know if there is an internal power supply or if she has been shot.  Y at - it may be a loose connection where the cable connects the document feeder at the bottom?  Appreciate any comment.

  I use Firefox for years and never had any problems with it. I like Firefox over Internet Explorer, it s faster and you will get a lot of modules useful for her ScrapBook.

  I played around with this stuff and here is my opinion on this subject.

  (1) as far as I know there is nothing strange. I noticed the same thing on notebooks too. For example, if you want to listen to music, you can simply press PLAYER button (3rd from left) and begins at will for laptop and open windows media player. If you want to go on the internet you can simply press INTERNET ((deuxieme button on the left). Laptop will be put into construction and Internet Explore will be open.
  So there is nothing strange, and even get on my Satellite P200 and brand-new Satellite A300.
  To be honest I don't know if this can be disabled. I'll ask a friend of mine. It is monster of Toshiba and maybe he knows more about it. But this behavior is certainly not strange.

  (2) Please check s operating manuals and look for info on this button. AFAIK it is clearly written Mute or LED on / off depending on the model you purchased, press this button to mute the sound or turn on or off the illumination of the logo of the brand, touchpad and buttons.
  So please do not mix anything. This button has no two options. On your model, you can disable illumination only. It is the same on my laptop. So there is nothing wrong with your laptop.

  There must be some problem with contact. I recommend to unlock touchpad wire, put it back in place and simply lock again.

  I own a Toshiba Satellite U400 - 12 p (been a year now). Since a few days, I've noticed that multimedia keys (PLAY, PAUSE, FFD, Propulsion /) is not functiong (not responding to my touch) + multimedia keys lights up 24-7. It is the same when the computer is off shortcut keys is shining brightly. I have no idea why this is happening.

  As far as I know that lighting can be turned off in the BIOS.
  Access the BIOS (press F2 during the laptop power) and turn off the light. Then save the changes and restart the laptop.
