Satellite U840 - goes on the mode 'sleep' when you browse the internet

Hi, I bought one of the Toshiba U840 nine ultrabook.

Something is really wrong with these machines;
While I surf the net, actually when I type something portable past suddenly on the mode 'sleep'? Any idea what is wrong with him?

The bottom line is; I bought a similar machine in the shop and I went back as a defective machine, they replaced for me with the same model but this computer has a strange problem!

Suggestions, please?

If you plug the adapter still does?

Or maybe you're pressing the function key suspended above the keyboard or by pressing the power button?

  • printers and faxes does not display when you browse another PC on my network

When I navigate to another PC on my domain using------(ComputerName)-I usually see tasks scheduled as well as printers and fax machines.

This is really useful when installation of printers and updating drivers remotely.

I'm running XP 32.  I recently deployed a few new PC with XP pro 64-bit.

When you browse my PC on the 64 bits of the PC I see more printers and fax machines.

File sharing and printer is on.

There are 2 PC 64 bit I CAN'T veiw the printers and fax machines on.  I checked eveywhere I can think and compared the two 64-bit pc (I can see the printers on one, and on that I do not see printers) and everything I find is the same.

I've read that it could be due to the fact that Quebec of printer on the new 64-bit PC was not yet open, and once it is open it should appear when browsing from another PC.  I tried this and the printers and faxes are still not visible.

Printer queue is launched and running without problem.  I also tried this restart.

    Connectivity is good.

I have no problem either browse PC (32-bit and 64-bit) to other locations on my network.

I also tried navigating from 64 bit to 64 bit, and the results are the same that when I travel from any other PC.  Some PC the list of printers and fax machines as well as scheduled tasks, some righteous display scheduled tasks.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • PC goes mode sleep when the Power Options are set for ever, etc. also can not wake up

Hi, I read the other posts on this topic, but my problem seems a little different.

I am running Windows 7 on a Dell desktop computer and I tried to run chkdsk and also the Dell diagnostics that I have some problems hard drive; However, it gets so far and the pc goes into mode 'sleep' causing me even worse problems that chkdsk/diagnoses are halfway through a volume. The pc has done this on and off tension for awhile, but hopefully not when something critical is running, even if it is a nuisance.  I did all the steps recommended here as ensure my Power Options are set, etc., but he always does.

In addition, when the pc goes to sleep, I can't wake him up by pressing the power button or any key on the keyboard.

I've been in contact with Dell and they said that it's a software problem.

Someone can suggest something else I can do (stop) the computer mode 'sleep' and also how to wake him.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I'm sorry for the late reply.

As you mentioned in your previous post, you wanted to know how to boot from the disc, I've provided the steps how to boot from the disc on my previous post. However, you can try to repair your windows using DVD for Windows 7 backup and check.

You can see this Microsoft article below that will help you fix Windows 7.

  • How to ensure the backup of Windows 7 starts and runs until the end on a laptop which is mode standby, or could be put in mode 'sleep' when the lid is closed.

    Hello

Many of us with laptops with Windows 7 would like to ensure that, when a Windows backup is scheduled, it starts successfully and goes to full completion, regardless of whether the phone is first 'sleep', or if the user of the laptop close the lid of the laptop, which would normally the laptop mode 'sleep'.  In other words, how to backup Windows or Windows 7 be configured to wake from mode "sleep" and prevent it from sleep mode, when a backup is scheduled and actively running?

I saw a way to schedule a task that will wake the computer, but I'm looking for something more intelligent than that.  I'm looking to see if Microsoft has already thought this through and allow you to pre-configure operating system such as we have no additional installation software.

    Thank you

  • computer randomly goes into mode 'sleep' when typing

I have a new Acer Aspire 4820 t running windows 7 Home premium. I have a problem with the computer will randomly in mode 'sleep'. This seems to happen especially while I'm via remote desktop, although not entirely. The computer does not heat and I turned off "sleep" mode completely or at least thought I have.

I can be typing at the moment then actually use the keyboard. Incidentally, this is the second computer, it happens that I sent the first back thinking it was a hardware problem.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Dear Mike,

Try this by the solution of the box. It worked for me:

    Dear mn2rgorillaz,

I am a computer repair technician, and suddenly one day I started having the same problem, 12/09/2011 in fact.  I tried everything, reboot the computer, the bios flashing, change all settings to never sleep and none of them worked.  I always had the same problem with my computer go to sleep in the middle of my typing, all random, of course, I could type a paragraph or a letter and PAF suddenly that he would go to sleep.  I was very frustrated, I sat for an hour and has thought of everything that had happened that day to try to understand what it might have been.  I didn't think the worst (bad mother).  It took me a little bit, but it finally hit me.  I bought this pretty new braclet that day, one of those magnetic which is supposed to help with arthritis and carpol tunnel syndrome.

As a computer tech, I felt really good because as all of us in the field will tell you computers + magnet = cloudy.  I do not think that anything of it when I bought and had already forgotten that I was wearing it.  Bingo, it took off about 10 minutes ago and I was seized as a crazy for woman.  No problem what so ever.  Just thought I'd throw it out there in case you might just wear the said kind of braclet.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LARGE Leah, I think you nailed!

My acer as3810T started with this mysterious behavior also and I have also updated the BIOS, update of office, ran several optimizers system, etc that does not.

Now that you mentioned the magnets. I hurt my hand and my mother recommended to put a few small magnets the base of my thumb which should have the effect of acupuncture without needles.

Now I type with one hand (the one with no magnets) and of course the PC never sleeps in the middle of the sentence.

Great shot! That's what I call thinking out of the box! I'd never get one. Thank you so much for sharing your insight.

    Cheers from the Brazil

    George

  • Satellite C650-1CN won't mode 'sleep'

The laptop doesn't pass in mode 'sleep'. The screen turns off but the PC does not sleep. I can force the sleep using the function keys, by closing the lid or the start menu.

I have two Satellites with the same applications, it works perfectly, but it does not sleep. The old PC running Windows 7 32, the new PC running Windows 7 64 with Toshibas own power management utility.

I tried to change the power management settings in Windows 7 and this has not solved the problem. The computer won't sleep on a network or in battery mode. The PC is a C650-1CN, bios has been upgraded to 1.5 and it has 4 M of RAM.

Spoils a beautiful machine that is a good value.

Have you tried to change the different time for mode 'sleep'?
How about processes that are running in the background?
These running processes can prevent the notebook to access the mode 'sleep'.

As you can see here on this screeshot, it s necessary to the configuration of the power plant.

  • No advantage to the use of recovery logs to sleep when you use ARK ASYNC?

As far as I know, there is not. If I was using LGWR, then the REDO stream to write their continuous, so data loss potential lowering.

If I understand correctly, when you use ARK ASYNC, REDO is transmitted in the form of a journal of the archives when a log switch occurs (ARCn a written process archive log destination ofn log_archive_dest_ standby), and do it AGAIN is applied directly to the waiting.

In summary, I plan on the MAX PERFORMANCE with ARCH ASYNC configuration, and I don't see any object using recovery logs watches over the physics of the day before. Is this correct?

If you use log_archive_dest_2 as "ARCH ASYNC" useless to create standby redo logfiles. Transferred data regarding the part 'ARCHIVES '.

If you still want to avoid lost data when you plan to leave for log_archive_dest_2 such as "LGWR ASYNC" then you have to create the standby redo logfile, data is transferred in terms of REDO

  • When you browse most sites: current tab crashes or load slowly. A second empty tab, by clicking on it, opening the first load completely, almost instantly!

It's Firefox 29.0.1: when you look at most of the sites, the current or the first tab or charges very slowly (small wheel), or crashes. By opening a second empty tab and clicking on it, the first tab then proceeds to load completely almost instantly! This is a common problem, and if so, is there a cure?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

Start the computer in safe mode Windows with network support (on the startup screen, press F8) as a test to see if that helps.
