Satellite C650-1CN won't mode 'sleep'

The laptop doesn't pass in mode 'sleep'. The screen turns off but the PC does not sleep. I can force the sleep using the function keys, by closing the lid or the start menu.

I have two Satellites with the same applications, it works perfectly, but it does not sleep. The old PC running Windows 7 32, the new PC running Windows 7 64 with Toshibas own power management utility.

I tried to change the power management settings in Windows 7 and this has not solved the problem. The computer won't sleep on a network or in battery mode. The PC is a C650-1CN, bios has been upgraded to 1.5 and it has 4 M of RAM.

Spoils a beautiful machine that is a good value.

Have you tried to change the different time for mode 'sleep'?
How about processes that are running in the background?
These running processes can prevent the notebook to access the mode 'sleep'.

As you can see here on this screeshot, it s necessary to the configuration of the power plant.

In addition, you have to be sure that this plant has been set as default!

    Hello

You are able to change the brightness in Power Options Win 7?

    Check this box:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD12017W0001R01.htm

You can choose a power plant that is enabled in the profile of power you use.

Set the control to the right to increase the brightness. Do this for setting battery and area setting

  • HP Pavilion won't mode 'sleep'

I have a HP Pavlillion, which is about 3 years old. Recently the comeputer going on "standby mode" (or when I put it in mode "sleep"), but continuous computer to go in and out of fashion 'sleep'. It is as if the computer goes in "standby mode" then about 10 min. later, it seems that the computer wakes up by itself (However the monitor isn't waking up). The monitor and the computer will wake up if I move the mouse or whatever. But now I just turn off the computer completely every night. Any ideas why this could happen and is there a way to fix it?

    Hello Banna1981,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that you think that your computer is going in and out of fashion 'sleep' but the screen remains in standby mode and both the monitor and the computer when you use the mouse or the keyboard. I suspect that what you think is the computer wake up is actually planned a background running process or activity. If the monitor is to stay in the mode "sleep" I don't think that your computer wakes up or if it's to treat specific activities such as updates or to check his e-mail etc...

If you are worried, I'd be happy to help you, but first of all, I encourage you to post what operating system you are using. And if your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit like that I can provide you with specific information on the boot without failure and find for sure what is the cause of this activity.

Operating system Windows am I running?
Is the Version of Windows on my computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

Will you please re-post with the information requested and I would be happy to provide assistance. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Satellite A215 S6816 won't mode BIOS and Windows does not load

    Hello

I'm helping a friend to determine what the problem could be on his laptop satellite A215 - S6816 Windows does not load on start up and it says "press F2 for Setup, press F12 for the boot device selection menu" but niether one of these options works no matter what I do.

I tried them on start up but nothing happens. It will be not just to enter mode BIOS or the menu. It will say please wait or entering the menue, but yet again, nothing happens.
What else can I try to enter the menu, either to get the system to get windows to load? This could be a motherboard problem? Hard drive problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

If you are unable to access the BIOS, or to load the Windows operating system, and then a serious hardware problem is present.
Eventually he s a motherboard related question that means it could be a faulty motherboard or just a small part of the motherboard as a ROM chip for example.
I doubt this can be fixed without help the ASP.

There is thus only one real solution. go to ASP. Guys must verify the simple parts to determine what part is affected.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A505-S6030 hangs in mode 'sleep'

So I got the A505-S6030 for about a month and a half because it was a good deal, but now I think I'm regretting my interest to be a Hunter of the windfall.

My main problem with this laptop, is that whenever he goes into sleep mode, the computer crashes and I have to hold the power button in order to stop it (Yes, I tried the trick of the caps lock and the light does not illuminate).

When he 'plant', the power light is still on as well as all my media controls, but the screen is stuck on a black background and the computer is frozen. Sometimes after I do that, I have to relight several times just to get going again. I tried to update my NVIDIA drivers via their official website. All I was really able to take advantage of these accidents is the following:

    Signature of the problem:
    Problem event name: BlueScreen
    OS version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3

My second problem which just started is pregnant Harman/Kardon "premium sound.
In the beginning, it was the right speaker has completely exploded suddenly, and only sound from the left speaker was working. I've updated the Realtek High Definition Audio drivers, and it seemed to solve the problem.

A few days later, only the right speaker now works, and the left has more noise.
Do you really think I have horrible luck and Harman/Kardon speakers have gone bad already?
I hope not, because I never put the volume high enough to blow them (literally keep less than 50% at any time).

Sorry for this long post and thank you for your time.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hello

I agree with the user above and recommend that you install the latest drivers of Toshiba display rather nVidia because nVidia drivers are not pre-tested and nobody can tell how they work and if they cause problems.
You can download all the driver here updates:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com

In addition, it would be interesting to know if this happens on the pre-installed Windows version or you have installed a different version of Windows?

  • Satellite C650 - battery won't charge

Laptop 18 months ago, with Windows 7. Has had a normal household use. In the last days, when the battery has run out and I plugged the AC charger, battery LED green light lights up green (battery charged). And the message I get when I hover over the battery icon is, say, 14% available battery, plugged in, not charging.

I googled the problem and found the battery method Microsoft ACPI compatible control uninstall and remove the battery, but only works for this battery charge. He returned to the Green LED, as soon as I plug the AC charger, even if the battery is at 10%.

Hope someone can help me with this. I'm not a geek so please keep this in mind when replying.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Maybe it's time to change the battery.
After 400-500 charge cycles the battery begins to lose own performance and sooner or later the replacement is inevitable.

I think you should try a new battery, but it is recommended to test the new battery before you buy then maybe you can visit a distributor in downtown and test a new battery
