Satellite U920t-102 touchpad click right question

Hello

I have a new U920t-102, which I am very happy with, but I have a problem with a right-click of the mouse pad (which means the 'button', the user is able to support on the lower side of the mouse pad): sometimes it actually works like a right click, sometimes it works as a left click.
It's embarrassing, especially during web browsing: I used to do a right-click on the links and open in a new tab, but when the right click actions left or right-handed, I lose the current web page.

I tried to understand what depends on this behavior, by looking at the synaptic animated icon on taskbar windows while playing with the left and right click. If I continuously press the button to right click on the mouse pad, after a few rehearsals, he will be consistely and working properly as a right-click, but if press left click once or several times, the right click button works as a left click for certain pressures and "corrects" himself and start again to work properly.

Any idea or suggestion? is this a hardware problem?

Marco

Usually the touchpad right click / left can be configured in the settings of Synaptics.
Right click on Synaptics icon on bar tasks and then tap properties of devices.
In buttons tab that you will be able to choose system or right- or left-handed.
Here, you may choose a plan suitable for you.

You can also try uninstalling the driver for the Synaptics touchpad and may test the functionality of touchpad without the use of additional touchpad software.

But if it does not help, your forces have hardware problem

    Hi all

Has taught I'll let you know that I found the solution to my problem, it was a problem to do with the equipment in particular the keyboard a keyboard of spare lying around which I taught I'll swap out and it worked right as close as possible to the keyboard worked everything suddenly I restarted several times to confirm and is until it worked.i also wanted to do further investigation to see what part of the keyboard did not work because it has two cables Ribbon one for the point stick and one for the real keybaord.i unplugged the cable Ribbon key point and just left the ribbon cable to the keyboard in the machine and both right-click and left-click now was not working so I decided to pass cable point Ribbon stick from the work at a keyboard was not working and plugged the keyboard original back and all the buttons worked even the right so guilty was the Ribbon for the point stick cable.

  • Touchpad - click right does not

On my Sony Vaio, the touchpad 'right click' installation does not work, can you please help?

    Hello

Could be a hardware problem with the touch pad.

Check the Sony Support, their drivers and documentation online and ask questions in the forums on
    known problems.

    =============================================================

Check with the manufacturer of system support, documentation in line, or forums as there probably
are shortcut keys that enable and disable the touchpad functions.

Parameters for TouchPad located in the control panel - mouse (there may be several tabs with TouchPad
entries) and some have a utility that loads in the Notification area next to the clock in the bottom right.

    ==========================================================

If necessary: (make sure that you have restarted at least once, if the above did not work)

Panel of configuration-Device Manager - mice and pointing devices - Double click on the TouchPad
-Pilot Tab - click on Update Driver (which is may not make anything as long as MS is far behind)
drivers of certification), now RIGHT CLICK on the touchpad and UNINSTALL.

Then go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers except the category itself
    (all in it). RESET

This will refresh the driver for the TouchPad and battery USB. This does not prevent the touchpad
    of work.

Here are the similar steps in XP, Windows 8, Windows 7 and Vista is the same, except
We need clear the specific device if present.

Then go to the system manufacturer's website and get the latest touchpad drivers.

Download - SAVE - go to where you put it-click on - RUN AS ADMIN.

    =================================

This utility also allows to control the TouchPad:

    TouchFreeze

    I hope this helps.

    Help, please.
    Thanks in advance

You click right using internal touchpad laptop s or is the problem also appears using an external USB mouse connected to the computer laptop s USB port?

As Timox already said, it would be very useful for troubleshooting more if you could provide more details.

  • Satellite C55D - buttons left and right touchpad do not work after the upgrade to Windows 10

Just what the title says. My touchpad on my C55D satellite works well, but click keys do not work. I tried everything I know how to solve this problem and can not understand. It doesn't seem to be any "Advanced settings" anywhere, as I suppose it would be where would be adjustments.

    Hello

The 'old' previous touchpad (Synaptics or momentum) is installed on your laptop?
You should check this area programs & features

If so, uninstall this application and restart the laptop.
Then check if the left and right click touchpad would work again.

By the way: have you verified the functionality of a USB external mouse? It work correctly?

  • How to disable the touchpad on my Satellite C50D-B-11N click?

    Hi all

I've had my new laptop of Toshiba Satellite C50D-B-11N for a few days now and I like it a lot... However, I don't like the touchpad clicker. Is it possible to disable the function click on the touchpad he clicks on things while I m spend my finger on the touchpad and it's really annoying me seriously and there is no setting that I can find for this problem!

I looked in the settings of the mouse and touchpad and there is no setting to disable the function of the touchpad click. Can anyone help please?

    Thank you very much

To be honest this show is unknown to me and I heard him for the first time now. Usually if something must be opened, you must use option tapping.
In other words, if long, you have a permanent contact with touchpad surface nothing must be open and click option cannot be enabled.

Anyway, check it please if you can find sheets option real estate property mouse and disable it just to see if the problem persists.

All these questions different so let's start with first.

Read this FAQ from Toshiba document. It provides all the answers and a detailed instruction.

What do you mean exactly? You can use internal display, external display or both at the same time

  • Satellite M30X-102: power question - unit suddenly turn off

    Hello!

I have a portable Satellite M30X-102 and about a year ago and a half months he started to turn off suddenly. First of all, it looked like an overheating problem, but also disabled directly after that I pressed the power button and sometimes it worked 10 hours without any problem, also, when it is off, power LED was flashing until I have Nations United - and replugend the power cable. If the battery was, he was immediately released.

I sent it to repairs. They only cleaned the cooler and changed the dough to thermal conductivity and for a few days, the laptop worked normally, but about half hours ago, it happened again. I am convinced now that this is a power supply problem, possibly the power cable.

You have any suggestions of what I could do, or should I send it back with a note that it is a power supply problem?

    Thank you

    Hello

In my opinion, you should contact the service because it can start diagnostic tests.
For me, this looks like an electronic malfunction of power supply.
If the laptop has been repaired it there a few days/weeks, so I guess that the guarantee is valid.

  • Satellite 1900-102 and tv out

I'm not able to get my tv-out from the satellite 1900-102. I think he's sending NTSC, but I don't know how to change it to PAL.

    Henk

    Hi Henkoo

There are 2 possible places to fix this.
The configuration of the BIOS or the videodriver.
I don't know which is the right one for your model, but the easiest is to first check the BIOS.
When you feed the machine, you will see a Toshiba logo for almost 2 seconds. While the logo is visible, you can press F2 to enter the BIOS setup and make a turn. If you feel uncertain when to go, please just read the explanatory text and be careful when you press the buttons. Normally you should not be able to do any "harm" to the system when you are.

If you can't find the PAL/NTSC setting in the BIOS, start your machine and make adjustments in the videodriver.
Right click on the desktop and choose "settings". From there it is probably pretty simple.

    Hi SarahIngham,

Check if the problem persists when you use another mouse. Also update the touchpad drivers by visiting the manufacturer's Web site.

I suggest you to check if you are facing the same question in the new administrator account.

    Create a new user account-

  • Satellite T130 - 10G Touchpad screen pointer gets stuck in random patterns

Satellite T130 - 10G Touchpad screen pointer gets stuck in random patterns and laptop computer must be restarted to restore functionality
The center of the causes of "touchpad button" toggle switch by pressing the touchpad pointer to enter a random State like two fingers to zoom.

Sometimes, he'll be back to normal, but most of the time the computer should be put to sleep or restarted to restore functionality.

    a. I tried turn off all touch pad feature one item at a time and all, he still has some weird random State.
(Did not try the impossible combination need $ to be interested but went to the 90% level)

    b. I tried disable the touch pad buttons offending and only using the mode tap the buttons and the problem still persist.

    c. Finally, tried bending the entire keyboard instead of pressing the buttons and it has also created the problem.

This leads me to believe either the power key or flexion of the entire keyboard is originally is

    a. flexion of the touch pad causing the driver getting into a crazy State or require a recalibration.

    b. electrical connections causing the driver enter a crazy State or require a recalibration of bending.

Note: I have reinstall the latest version of the driver.
Also: American Toshiba support site that this problem exists in the notebooks of May.

Also: The touchpad is too sensitive, which makes it very unusable!

    CAry

Have you tried to install the operating system and check the functionality of the touchpad with the factory settings?
Recovery image contains tested the touchpad and right and I don't think that helps the driver installation.

  • Linux on satellite U920T

    Hello

I am considering the purchase of a new laptop (Toshiba Satellite U920t). Does anyone know, if it is consistent with recent distributions of linux (Ubuntu-based)? Is it possible to find the detailed material (model wifi, BT model,...), which can help to decide?

    Thanks for all info

    Hello

I am writing this reply on a U920T-109 under Ubuntu 64 bit 14.04.
I had an EFI problem that looks like other models - Ubuntu bootable EFI-binary do not find after successful installation.
It's all in fact easily solved by copying the native binary file & folder more generically called those.
Question is can be avoided by setting the boot to the CSM mode if you want to stay on the easy way :) But do it BEFORE installation to avoid confusion between the error message during startup.

One of the above is complete, the device starts and works fine in Ubuntu 14.04.

Webcam WLAN, Bluetooth, touch screen, mouse works fine.
    Keyboard shortcuts work in part.
Brightness not possible to order in a standard installation, but should be possible to operate by use of a boot argument (acpi_backlight = vendor).

Overall, I see no reason why you make a U920T a great Linux-PC.

See the output of lsusb and lspci below. Please keep in mind that no matter what U920T you watch may slightly differ in specifications and features!

  • A few problems with the Satellite U920T-100

    Hi guys,.

my girlfriend ordered a Toshiba Satellite U920T-100 about three months ago and she had problems with it since. We're not quite sure what causes because they seem to happen randomly.

    The questions are:
-It starts, but it freezes at the Win8 connection with a blue screen (a rather hot blue, no blue screen of death)
-It starts not at all, only after a few attempts
    -It will not stop
-It freezes all by organizing files (for example copy of files from A to B, but not yet large amounts of files)

New: these questions seem to be completely appearing randomly, I wasn't able to reproduce them in any way.

Also: WLAN connectivity is really bad.
The laptop is not able to find networks, while my laptop has no problem with it.
And when he finds them and connect, the connection be lost - once again: no idea why.

That surprises me the most, because in tests and comments that I've read that connectivity has been praised everywhere.

    I have reset factory?
    Run through some specific tests?
Or is is hopeless, because there are so many problems with it?

    I'd appreciate your help!

    Hello

    > I should factory reset it?

I think you should do that because the issue described can be related to system problems, but also hardware problem (HARD drive for example). The resumption of the factory allows you to check if its software or hardware related problem.

Usually, all the problems of software (System) could be solved by the recovery process. Hardware problems would continue.

From my point of view, the recovery of the system is the first step, you should try to solve the problem.
In case this is not enough, a hardware problem (RAM or HARD disk) is possible, and given that the laptop is still under warranty, I recommend you contact the service to check the unit.

Hope my advice might help you a bit

  • Update hard disk for Satellite 1900 102

    Hi all

I used to work with a Toshiba Satellite 1900 102 since July 2002 and March my hard drive has stopped working (maybe it was time).
Where can I buy records 2.5 "that this series of satellites can be supported?

What is the maximum capacity (in GB) laptop that recognizes the old man?

    Thanks for all your help!

    Hello

2.5 hard drives can be bought anywhere I think then, either you contact an authorized service provider or you visit your favorite computer store.

I think that the Satellite 1900 limits the 28-bit LBA. This would mean that the size of the HARD disk is limited to 128 GB. The maximum capacity is 120 GB that you can use, but I think that 80 GB would be enough according to your amount of files you want to save on the HARD drive.

If you have any other questions please let us know! :)
